Multi Aura Sphere!
"Boom!!" Two Aura Spheres hit Blastoise directly, and amidst the fierce explosion sound, it blasted Blastoise away, finally sliding right up to Gary's feet.
"Blastoise, are you okay?!" Gary called out Blastoise's name with a hint of anxiety, as Blastoise, who had fallen on the ground, struggled a bit to stand up.
Being hit by continuous attacks from the opponent, even though Blastoise is tough-skinned and thick-fleshed, there is a limit to it. From the beginning until now, he was continuously hit by three Aura Spheres, plus countless Mach Punches. Even with his Physical Strength, it has dropped below half now.
The only drawback of MEGA Evolution is that it cannot increase Physical Strength. It's an evolution that enhances all attributes comprehensively, but Physical Strength is the one exception that doesn't increase. In fact, MEGA Evolution increases the consumption of Physical Strength.
This is completely opposite to Dynamax, which provides a huge Physical Strength boost to Pokemon, but doesn't enhance other attributes at all. While MEGA Evolution enhances Pokemon's attributes in all aspects, there's no increase in Physical Strength.
Therefore, although it's raining now, Blastoise's condition is not optimistic. However, Gary isn't without strategies for dealing with it. But until a crucial moment, Gary doesn't want to use that move, mainly because its uncertainty is too high.
In response to Gary's call, Blastoise slowly stood up, appearing as if it could continue fighting.
"Very good, now it's time for our counterattack, Blastoise, use Water Pulse!" It's still Water Pulse to start, but Water Pulse under the rain is not the same as before!
"Ka-me!" Blastoise's triple cannon was aimed at Lucario, then suddenly burst forth with a torrent of surging water, splitting the azure columns into three directions and blocking all of Lucario's escape routes.
Under rain-enhanced Water Pulse, just one of the streams is already comparable to the combined cannon of the original Water Pulse, and Mega Launcher's effect added with rain, isn't just a simple one plus one!
(Water Pulse's power is sixty, Mega Launcher adds fifty percent, becoming ninety. If the rain is calculated according to ninety, it gives a boost to a power of one hundred thirty-five. I don't know if the formula is calculated like that, but let's calculate this in the book by stepping right foot on the left foot)
"Aura Sphere!" Facing the Water Pulse that blocked all Lucario's retreat routes, Ash calmly let Lucario continue using Aura Sphere.
As his voice fell, Lucario once again disappeared from its original place, just as Gary predicted, Lucario would use Teleport!
This was originally a skill Lucario couldn't learn. Heaven is fair; Teleport is either given to Pokemon that aren't particularly agile and cannot fight close quarters or given to Pokemon that aren't particularly flexible.
If those agile close-combat Pokemon paired Teleport for approach, wouldn't they just take off directly?
But Ash is the one who breaks the rules of heaven. As long as he can learn Teleport himself, he can teach Teleport to his Pokemon. As for whether he can learn Teleport... well, the result Lucario brought proves it, doesn't it?
The next second, Lucario appeared again behind Blastoise, with Aura Sphere already formed and solidified in its hands.
"Using the same move repeatedly, even a fool would react, Blastoise, Water Pulse!" At Gary's command, Blastoise seemed prepared as it turned its form, aiming the triple cannon at Lucario in mid-air with a somewhat dazed expression. Blastoise's mouth curved into a cruel and joyful smile, followed by a sudden burst of three powerful water streams from the cannon!
"Boom!" Lucario, in mid-air, was directly hit. Although it swiftly launched Aura Sphere, Aura Sphere could only block two of the water columns. The largest water column eventually hit him directly and sent him flying.
"Bang!" Lucario fell from the air to the ground with a dull sound, and for the first time, showed signs of injury on his body.
This time, Ash's expression turned somewhat unpleasant. He also anticipated that the position of Teleport might be guessed, but he didn't expect Blastoise's initial Water Pulse was merely a Feint.
If not, even if Blastoise and Gary knew the position Lucario would appear in, it would still be impossible for Blastoise to turn its body around. With Blastoise's clumsy body, it couldn't instantly do that while using such a powerful move.
That's why Ash was so assured to have Lucario continue using Aura Sphere to attack himself.
But things didn't go as wished; the situation was beyond Ash's expectations.
"You and Blastoise really have great synergy, Gary, managing to make such a powerful attack without verbal communication with Blastoise." Ash sincerely praised Gary.
The initial attack towards Lucario, those three Water Pulses, seemed mighty and imposing, but in reality, they were all paper tigers without any actual harm, all show without substance.
The purpose of those three attacks was to lure Lucario into using Teleport to come behind Blastoise, allowing Blastoise to use its already gathered strength to blast the appearing Lucario away!
As for why Lucario must appear behind Blastoise, it's because Lucario's mastery of Teleport isn't particularly proficient. He cannot move seamlessly with his heart during teleportation and needs to divert his attention to mark a point, then jump to the marked point.
Behind Blastoise was a mark point prepared by Lucario, which moves with Blastoise. Before Lucario could create a new mark point, he could only teleport behind Blastoise, which became Lucario's flaw.
"Hmph, you're not the only one who can bond with your Pokemon, having MEGA Evolution. The synergy between me and Blastoise speaks for itself. Blastoise, give him the final blow, use Wave Crash!!" Gary waved his hand decisively, no longer wasting words with Ash, ready to clinch this fight!
The power of Wave Crash is more terrifying than Water Pulse. Once Lucario is hit, he absolutely can't withstand it. Gary also seized the opportunity as Lucario was still trying to support himself up, ready to take Lucario down directly!
"Ka-me!" Blastoise let out a roar, as rainwater falling from the sky gathered toward him at this moment, enveloped by a massive stream of water.
Compared to the original Wave Crash, the scale of Wave Crash from Blastoise now is a level bigger, and the surrounding rainwater keeps gathering around Blastoise, constantly augmenting the power of Blastoise's Wave Crash.
The next second, Blastoise, like a mud truck, charged at Lucario who was just getting up from the ground, its terrifying momentum, coupled with water streams spiraling all over its body, would freeze anything less courageous in their tracks.
"Lucario, Detect!"
"Ow!" Lucario flipped backwards and leaped up from the ground, his eyes flashing with a bright spark. At this moment, Blastoise charging forward slowed down extremely and the optimal routes to dodge appeared in Lucario's sight.
His body naturally rolled sideways, just barely brushing aside and evading that giant Wave Crash.
"Close Combat!" As soon as Lucario evaded, Ash's command followed closely.
Lucario tightened its fists fiercely, and at the moment when Blastoise brushed past him, he threw a punch violently. Countless orange fist shadows emerged within the field, forcing through the water streams surrounding Blastoise, striking Blastoise hard!
Zero-distance Close Combat!
"Boom boom boom!!" The dull sound of strikes echoed. Under the fercious power of Close Combat, Blastoise was burst out from Wave Crash and knocked flying backward onto the ground at Gary's feet.
