Chapter 49 - Azure mountain city

In the distance, there is a mountain filled with various types of plants and animals, as well as many beasts. From afar, the mountain appears blue in color. This strange phenomenon remains a mystery to the local inhabitants, which is why they call it Azure Mountain. Besides its unusual color, the mountain has many unique characteristics. It acts like a natural spirit gathering array, enhancing the concentration of energy around it. It is also home to rare herbs and minerals.

What's most peculiar is that, unlike beasts in other regions, the creatures living on this mountain do not show hostility towards humans. Even after obtaining powers, they remain peaceful, and some have been domesticated by people. Because of these special qualities, the mountain has become an ideal place for human settlements. As a result, a city was built at its base, known as Azure Mountain City. This city is one of the oldest established after the cataclysm.

Azure Mountain City looks like a blend of ancient charm and modern technology, boasting a high population and towering buildings. However, unlike other large cities, it lacks protective walls against beast invasions. In its thousand-year history, it has never suffered an attack from beasts. Some theories suggest that Azure Mountain not only hosts peaceful creatures but also repels beast tides from other areas, providing a natural defense for the city. Even beasts that arrive from other regions seem to adopt a gentle nature upon crossing into the mountain's boundary.

Thus, this city is regarded as one of the safest in the Northern continent. However, today, a visitor, or rather a snake and his disciples, will arrive, changing the city's history.

**POV: Vik**

I am currently testing my new powers after advancing to the void traveling realm. After the system provided me the coordinates for Azure Mountain City, I am attempting to create a portal to this city. The system told me it could assist, but I want to do it myself. I envision a portal, thinking of space as a sheet of paper, similar to Einstein's theory of spacetime. To travel from point A to point B, we need to span the distance between them. By using the laws of space I'm familiar with, I can overlap these two points, allowing me to create a portal between this place and the city.

With this in mind, I gathered energy within my body and willed the portal to open. This is a complex task, so I also drew a magic circle to stabilize it. Soon, a circular portal glowing with white light appeared before me. Without wasting a moment, I called out, "Disciples, let's go."

After saying that, I jumped into the portal, carrying Pushpa in my arms, followed by Lu Xiaoran and Roman. The portal's interior resembled a completely white expanse devoid of any color. While I contemplated this, the system's voice rang out.

System: "Host! Can you at least do one thing right?"

Vik: "System, watch your language, and why are you shouting? What did I do this time?"

System: "What did you do? You just created a wormhole! You told me you needed coordinates to make a portal to the city, but instead, you created a wormhole. At this point, I'm not surprised."

Vik: "System, I didn't intend to do that. Can you tell me how to fix this and how it will affect us?"

System: "Yeah, host, you never do anything intentionally. You just mess things up, but don't worry. I've already prepared a countermeasure. I will close this wormhole before we reach some strange dimension and teleport you to the city. There's a minor issue, though—you and your disciples might be sent to different places. But we can track them once we reach the city since your disciples can be located by this system even if they end up in another world."

Vik: "Okay, system, go ahead. There's no issue; I trust my disciples. They will manage just fine without me, and we will find them once we get to the city."

After my conversation with the system, I informed my disciples, "There's a change in the plan. After teleporting to the city, I will be separated from you because I need to take care of something. Please don't cause any trouble, and I will find you soon."

With that, I commanded the system to teleport us. Soon, the white scenery ahead blended with various colors, and I felt a sudden jolt in my body. After that, I found myself transported to a different place.

I noticed that this location resembled a grand room filled with luxury. The room had a glass roof through which I could see the stars. There were also large glass windows on my left and right, providing views of high-rise buildings. I concluded that I was in some sort of penthouse. While I surveyed the space, a sweet voice came to my ears.

"I think you've seen enough, so keep your focus here."

I turned to find the source of the voice—a woman seated in a chair made from dark jade. Surrounding her were people in knight armor, but they looked unusual. They had strange purple fire burning within their armor and bone skulls instead of human heads; they appeared to be some form of undead.

What surprised me most was the lady. She was, by far, the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She had an oval face with porcelain skin, blood-red hair, and green eyes that occasionally glowed with a ghostly purple light. Her figure was stunning, with curvaceous hips and a full chest, all accentuated by a dark one-piece dress. She regarded me with an amused expression.

Then she spoke suddenly, "My! My! If you've seen enough of my beauty, can you introduce yourself? I am sure I performed the ritual to summon a powerful beast, but you ended up being summoned from a magic circle."

Hearing her voice, I looked down—realizing I was sitting in a magic circle. Pushpa rested on my shoulder. Not understanding my situation, I looked back towards her and was again captivated by her beauty.

One of the skeletons near her drew a long sword made of fire and said, "My liege, this person is looking at you disrespectfully. Please, order me to take off his head."

The lady merely glanced at the skeleton before addressing me, "Hi stranger, my name is Louriel. I believe you should introduce yourself before my servants take any action."

Feeling nervous, as this was my first time speaking to a woman like her, I gathered my confidence and said, "Hi, my name is Vik. I'm a python, and my favorite hobby is coding on my laptop. I don't have family, just some disciples. I graduated with a degree in computer science and completed my post-graduation in AI learning. My specialties are Java, C++, and Python. I'm just a simple python who likes to code in Python."

Louriel: "(*_*)!!!!!!!"

System: "(*_*)!!!!!!!"

Pushpa: "Meow!!!!!!!!"
