Chapter 61 - Vik's driving classes-2

He revealed everything he knew after I broke his other leg. I learned about his leader, confirming my suspicion that someone from the police was involved. However, I didn't expect it to be the leader of these thugs. Their group even has a silly name, calling themselves the Jungle Gang. Now, I'm furious. I plan to take down this Jungle Gang. This is going to be a long day, I thought to myself as I sped up my tank.

Currently, at the governor's district police station on the second floor, a man is seated in the assistant inspector's office. He talks to someone on his private phone. This man, with brown hair and eyes, appears to be an ordinary police officer. But he is Lion, the leader of the Jungle Gang, working undercover as a police officer. While on the phone, he says, "Boss Zhang, don't worry. The papers will reach you in just five minutes. My guy just left with them."

Lion asks, "But brother, can we discuss my promotion after this? I really want to become the head of this police station."

On the other end, a voice replies, "Okay. If you complete your work properly, not only will you get promoted, but I'll also give you a chance to join the Dragon Society."

Lion's excitement is palpable when there's a knock on his office door. He quickly ends the call and grants permission to enter. Another police officer walks in, saluting. "Sir, there's an emergency meeting. Inspector Mia has called everyone to the meeting hall."

Lion immediately gets up and heads toward the meeting hall. Upon arriving, he finds an older woman, Mia, the chief of the police station. She briefs them on the emergency: a tank is causing chaos in Azure Mountain City. The last sighting of this tank was in the entertainment district. It's an outdated model from before the catastrophe, yet it has some advanced technology that makes it unstoppable. She instructs the current officers to stop the tank since headquarters has designated it as an attack on the city. So far, there have been no casualties, but the potential for them cannot be ignored.

After exiting the meeting, Lion looks frustrated. He instructs his juniors to track the tank using their latest satellite imaging technology. They soon receive a report indicating the tank is approaching their position, set to arrive in ten seconds. Before anybody can react, a loud boom and shockwave hit them. The target they were searching for has now crashed through a wall.

Just like before, I crashed through the police station wall in my tank. This time, I wore a mask to hide my face. I asked the thug Boar about his boss, and he pointed to a man in a police uniform. I jumped down and pulled him into the tank. Meanwhile, other police officers fired at me, but I didn't retaliate; they were just doing their jobs. Once again, I exited the police station without a hitch.

Back on the road, I placed the man named Lion in the back seat along with his companions. I first asked him about his boss, but he responded with something familiar.

"You fools don't know who I work for. Forget the government. My boss will find you first and kill you. There's still time to break your hands and apologize. Then I might consider forgiving you."

I followed his advice and broke both of his hands. After that, he ceased speaking. Finally, I asked, "Tell me about your boss and where you delivered the signed papers."

"Please! Don't do anything. My boss's name is Lu Zhang. He is the young master of the Lu family. I did everything he told me. You don't understand the power of the Lu family. If he finds out about you, there will be serious consequences."

I was slightly taken aback by this revelation. I glanced at Lu Xiaoran, who also appeared surprised. This matter involves his cousin Lu Zhang, who had betrayed and attacked him. But now wasn't the time to ponder this. I asked about the papers again.

"Those papers were delivered to Lu Zhang. I don't have them."

This gave me another reason to visit Lu Xiaoran's cousin. I looked at Lu Xiaoran and asked, "Disciple, do you want to visit your cousin?"

"Yes, master. I want to settle some scores with him," Lu Xiaoran replied.

"Okay, then sit tight. We're heading back to the Race," I said, accelerating the tank again. This time, dozens of police cars were chasing us. Their vehicles had a modern design, hovering above the road rather than using tires. A high-tech helicopter was also on our tail. I sped up to 150 km/h, making sharp turns on city streets.

Eventually, we reached the highway. Ahead, there was a barricade with many police cars and barriers, even a spiritual barrier. I looked at my disciple and said, "Lu Xiaoran, watch closely. I'm going to show you how to drift a tank."

"Master, this tank doesn't have hand brakes," Lu Xiaoran responded.

I realized he was right. I was too late to stop. If I halted using my power, the police cars would catch up. If I moved forward, we would crash into the cars, potentially hurting some officers. But I thought of another solution: a river ran parallel to the highway. I sped the tank up to 250 km/h and turned, driving straight into the river. Despite being a heavy tank, it bounced off the water, its speed creating enough lift to keep it afloat. To maintain that, I pushed the speed to 300 km/h. The three thugs in the back seat were now unconscious from the shockwave, while I was enjoying the ride. I thought Lu Xiaoran and Pushpa were enjoying it too.

"Are you guys having fun?"

"Meow!" Pushpa exclaimed.

"Yes! Woo!" Lu Xiaoran shouted.

With their cheers, I accelerated again, reaching 400 km/h. I thought if I kept increasing speed, the tank might fly. I aimed for sub-sonic speed. In the clear water, I pushed it to 500 km/h, then 800 km/h, and finally 1000 km/h. When I hit 1200 km/h, the tank started to hover above the river's surface. However, the tank had no controls for flying, so I created an invisible shield with my spiritual energy, shaping it like a plane. To anyone observing, it would appear as a flying tank, but they'd only notice the wind flow around it.

My speed and altitude kept climbing, now at 1600 km/h. I left the skyscrapers behind as two futuristic jets began tailing us, firing what looked like laser blasts. If they wanted to race, I was ready. I used my strange fire to coat the tank and boost its speed. Suddenly, my body jolted as we broke the sound barrier. Now, I was in a tank traveling at Mach 1 speed. But I wasn't done; the speed kept climbing: Mach 2, Mach 4, Mach 7. We were gaining speed rapidly, but thanks to my strength, Lu Xiaoran and Pushpa felt little of it. Pushpa was even enjoying the ride.

Now, I thought I should soar even higher, perhaps reaching low Earth orbit to see how the world looked from above.
