Chapter 90 - Chapter 47: Qiwei

The complexity of its core code was something even he couldn't grasp at a glance, or rather, couldn't understand.

It was the first time Mercer encountered data that even he couldn't comprehend.

He wasn't sure if it was because his knowledge was lacking or if the thing itself was just like that. Some parts of the AI's core code were fundamentally different from existing programming languages and data structures.

Instead, this ignited Mercer's determination, as he kept running the Desire for Death program in this Sex Doll Shop, observing its AI grow during this process.

And the AI of Desire for Death also harnessed computing power, rapidly iterating and expanding the composition of its data as it ran.

As streams of data quickly scrolled by, the data of the AI's core code began to increase rapidly. Assuming the original AI core of Desire for Death was only 10MB, just ten minutes of full-speed operation caused it to grow at least tenfold.

Once the core code constituted a complete data structure, the AI suddenly started including a great deal of 'useless' junk data.

These blue data bodies began to grow around its core, self-iterating and upgrading, optimizing on their own, stopping only after an unspecified period of time.

Mercer looked at the seemingly unchanged cat in front of him, squinting his eyes: "Hello, Desire for Death."

A massive stream of data flashed in the cat's eyes and, after a moment, it stuttered, "Hel-lo, Master, please, whip me."

Mercer slapped his face with one hand: "Delete, reset!"

Desire for Death let out an almost ecstatic meow, "Oh~ thrilling~ meow~"

Then it collapsed and reformed.

Mercer looked at it speechlessly, but after observing its process of self-growth, Mercer understood somewhat how to shape an AI's personality and cognition.

Although the core data symbolizing the AI's soul was still beyond his ability to interpret and compile, that core data itself was merely a primitive code responsible for giving birth to the AI's soul.

Mercer named it 'Soul Source Code', and apart from the source code, Mercer could understand about sixty to seventy percent of the other code.

For example, which codes made up its appearance, which codes constituted its knowledge reserve, which codes formed its cognitive basis.

However, besides this, there were also some extremely special, autonomously generated core data. Mercer could see it, but like the Soul Source Code, it belonged to a different special structure, currently impossible for him to write out.

At the same time, Mercer discovered that those special structured data were surprisingly similar to some data in himself.

Mercer believed that perhaps this was the key to AI anthropomorphism and the key data affecting human cognition through network technology.

Perhaps if he mastered how to compile and modify this data, he would also gain the power to change human thinking?

Mercer began to ponder on how to endow AI with a controllable intelligence, thinking it through and finally pinpointing the answer.

First, he must not start with the AI in the Desire for Death program, which is essentially a cyber bomb.

If the AI of Desire for Death grows, once it escapes control, it could very likely become a super AI comparable to the Black Wall.

Like the 'Rabies' virus released by the old net Bartmos, it might become an extremely terrifying rogue killing weapon, completely destroying the current new net.

Therefore, Mercer decided to regard Desire for Death as a dangerous weapon, while the AI he intended to create would use its own 'Soul Source Code' for creation.

Although Mercer currently had no idea what the Soul Source Code really was, it didn't stop him from copying it from the data layer and then pasting it to innovate a brand-new program.

After much consideration, he finally set the AI program's position as a 'life assistant', similar to Iron Man's Jarvis.

The program setup and function of this AI were to assist Mercer in research and development, to drive some other programs if necessary, with core code stored in Mercer's network receptor memory.

Although this AI's existence would occupy Mercer's brain's computing power, the use of that portion of computing power was actually more efficient than his usual usage. AIs are naturally experts at utilizing computing power.

Mercer then ensured that its size was properly limited and added multiple core logic constraints to its thinking direction.

Finally, a brand-new, like a newborn clean low-level AI was created by Mercer from scratch.

He named it 'Venus', hoping it would illuminate a bright future for him, just like its name suggests.

Mercer canceled its autonomous learning function, deciding to manually select suitable data for Venus, for enlightenment. Once its basic 'personality' and 'values' were stable, it would then be given a certain degree of learning freedom.

However, just as Mercer was engrossed in commandeering the Sex Doll Shop's server's computing power, fiddling with the new AI, an abnormal data fluctuation suddenly alerted him.

Along with the data fluctuation, a data body with some semblance to a drone emerged in the server.

He immediately halted his actions, observed carefully for a moment, and discovered it to be a network security program running.

Mercer couldn't help but chuckle, it seemed like he had overused the server's computing power, and someone at the Sex Doll Shop noticed the anomaly.
