Chapter 182 - Chapter 60: Ambush!

Rebecca snorted, showing no intention of backing down.

Mercer could only nod: "Alright, I get it."

"What do you mean by 'you get it'?" Rebecca asked, dissatisfied, shaking her leg impatiently.

She felt she had been direct enough.

"It means if you want to keep an eye on me, go ahead. I'm not trying to come up with an excuse to refuse or dodge you. I'd say the same to anyone."

Mercer started the car and headed towards Evil Land.

Only then did Rebecca feel satisfied and smiled: "So even if we're not dating... I don't have to intentionally keep my distance from you, right?"

"No need, just don't be too forward, especially in front of everyone. Then I really wouldn't know how to react," Mercer said, trying to put his mask back on, but she, ahead of him, pressed his hand down.

"It's just the two of us. Let me admire you a bit longer, what's the rush?" she said casually, smiling at him. Seeing that he only looked at her helplessly and didn't reject her, she felt even happier inside.

Unlike Lucy, the current Lucy was visibly immature compared to the anime version, but Rebecca already looked exactly the same as in the anime.

This type of girl probably stays the same even into her thirties or forties.

That's why Mercer found it hard to treat her like he did with Lucy, always feeling she was already complete. When she teased him, it was hard to refuse.

Especially thinking about how she had the same straightforward personality in the anime made it even harder for Mercer to refuse—who could reject a girl willing to become Rebecca-chan for you, even just as a fallback option?

He couldn't refuse at all.

If he had the guts, V wouldn't have started suspecting he's a pervert by now... Damn, what's wrong with liking pretty and cute girls?

"By the way, what's going on between you and Lucy?" Rebecca suddenly asked.

Mercer's gaze drifted as he said: "It's somewhat similar to my relationship with you?"

"Damn! I knew it!" Rebecca immediately got agitated: "Are you living with her now?"

"I mostly sleep on the hacker chair."

After Mercer said that, Rebecca looked at him with a predatory gaze, and Mercer could guess with his ass that if he didn't give a suitable explanation, Rebecca might figure she'd start living there from today.

"Once we move to a new place, we'll definitely live separately."

Seeing him say that, Rebecca just pouted, accepting it: "What about V? She's pretty, has a great body, and isn't young... What do you think of that kind of older woman?"

"She's pretty good too, just a bit dumb... She even dared to call me a pervert, we'll see about that."

Mercer said annoyingly: "One day I'll make her eat all her words!"

"Just make sure she doesn't eat anything else of yours!" Rebecca rolled her eyes: "That woman doesn't seem like a good person... I mean, it feels like her feelings for you aren't pure either.

Damn, what's wrong with you anyway? Do you like every pretty girl you meet?

But somehow it seems those pretty girls all find you interesting too...

Feels like even if I officially date you, I'd have to be on edge all the time."

Mercer felt rather proud of that: "Maybe my charisma attribute is 20 points too."

"Hmph... it's not impossible," Rebecca changed her tone, looking at him with a smile: "Well, since we're done with that, we'd better go later. There's no one around now..."

"What do you want to do?" Mercer widened his eyes slightly.

Rebecca looked at him for a while and then burst into laughter: "We might not be dating, but isn't it fine if I indulge a little? I've never even held a guy's hand until now..."

"Are you a pervert?" Mercer was shocked.

"Damn, how is that perverted?" Rebecca retorted: "Ask the girls on the street, how many have kids at my age?

I'm usually too embarrassed to talk about this with others... Damn, I've grown up this much and haven't even kissed a guy yet...

Or are you the kind of 'traditional good man' who, without dating, wouldn't even touch a woman's hand?"

Rebecca's predatory gaze seemed ready to devour him.

Mercer thought for a moment and under her burning gaze, he couldn't bring himself to claim he was, indeed, a traditional good man.

"Just don't go overboard..."

Mercer said without much confidence, but still emphasizing: "Wait until the right moment."

"Hehe, okay~" Rebecca drew out her tone, then jumped over from the passenger seat, wrapping her arms around Mercer's neck and unhesitatingly planted a kiss on his cheek.

Mercer nearly drove the car in an S-shape: "Are you fucking crazy?"

"Phew..." Rebecca took a deep breath, then sat back with satisfaction: "Hahaha~ Why are you acting like a little girl?"

"Get out of here. Anyone would be dumbfounded by something like that," Mercer was momentarily dazed. After coming to his senses, he could only glare at her fiercely: "Take it easy."

"Relax, relax~" Rebecca chuckled, like a little girl who just got her beloved toy: "I won't make things difficult for you in front of other girls...

But just so you know, if I catch anyone sneaking around or you putting on airs with me, I'm not holding back."

You're the one sneaking around the most.

Mercer rolled his eyes, this time putting on the mask: "I should just have flat-out rejected you, let you shed tears."

"Then why didn't you reject me?" she smiled, looking at Mercer, and seeing that he was momentarily silent, she already got the answer she wanted.
