Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Warmth, Happiness, and Love

"Warm?"

"Yeah, Warm, because it feels warm when I hold it." Mira explained,

"Rhode mentioned Poro lives in a really cold place, right? I hope it always feels warm when it's with you."

Rhode thought for a moment: "Seems pretty nice, what do you think?"

Little Poro's horns perked up, obviously liking it a lot.

"Glad you like it." Mira said with a smile, "That's how Happy got its name."

Happy is that talking blue cat always with Natsu, Mira introduced him to Rhode.

She said Happy can fly and carry people along, but unfortunately, Rhode hasn't seen Happy fly yet.

"Then it's decided, from now on your name will be Warm, officially."

"Officially is not used like that." The president considered calling Hibiki back for post-purchase service.

"Woo-hoo~" Warm dove into Rhode's arms, rubbing its head against his chest.

Rhode embraced Warm, feeling its little horns were a bit bothersome.

"Sister Mira, two beers over here!" Laki waved towards the bar.

"Alright~" Mira picked up two wooden beer mugs, filled them and placed them on a tray, "Rhode, it's almost noon, time to get busy."

"Alright, I'll start working now." Rhode put down Warm and picked up the tray.

Warm looked around, then followed at Rhode's feet as he went to deliver the beer.

The person asking for beer was a middle-aged man with a pipe in his mouth, sporting a brown quiff, wearing a floral shirt, cropped pants, and sandals.

"Here's your drink."

"Hey~~ Why didn't Mira-chan deliver it..." Wakaba complained, but it didn't stop him from picking up the mug, "Speaking of which, you are the one sitting at the counter these days..."

Rhode felt a bit disliked, but it was normal; even he would prefer a beauty delivering the meal:

"I'm Rhode, just joined Fairy Tail, currently working as a pub service. Nice to meet you."

"Oh~~ A newbie! I'm Wakaba." Wakaba showed interest, smoke formed a hand from his pipe, grabbing another beer and offering it to Rhode,

"As you can see, I use Smoke Magic. Consider this drink my treat, welcome to Fairy Tail!"

"I..."

Bam! Before Rhode could speak, the person opposite Wakaba slammed the table and stood up:

"Damn Wakaba, don't just give away my drink!"

This person had short purple hair, sparse beard around his mouth, donned a white trench coat, and purple flames already emerged from his hand as he spoke.

The flame dispersed Wakaba's smoke hand and replaced it, holding the mug instead.

"If anyone's treating, it should be me!" He straightened his collar formally, "Hello, I'm..."

"Damn Macao!" Wakaba stood up, slammed his mug on the table, stepped on a stool, leaned forward, "You want to fight, huh?"

"Nobody's afraid of you!" Macao equally stepped on a stool, leaning forward.

The two leaned their foreheads against each other across the table, locked in a stalemate, neither willing to give way.

Thick smoke gathered above Wakaba's pipe, purple flames swirled back, floating above Macao's hand.

The mug originally held by flames fell, Rhode hurriedly caught it, spilling a few drops: "Um..."

He wanted to persuade them, but the two already ignored him, rolling up their sleeves, ready to go at it.

Rhode looked around for help, but found everyone nearby was watching the show with keen interest.

Some even stirred up shouting 'Get on with it', 'Teach him a good lesson'.

Laki still held an empty mug she had just retrieved but now stood among the spectators.

She didn't forget to give Rhode a heads up: "Rhode, if I were you, I'd get out of here now."

"For..."

Whoosh! A mug flew past Rhode's ear.

Macao and Wakaba had already jumped onto the table, locking their palms together, starting a friendly wrestling match.

Rhode touched his temple, decisively gave up trying to mediate, scooped up Polverom in one arm, grabbed the innocent beer in the other, tray tucked under his arm, and swiftly ran back beside the counter.

The president's small figure gave him a huge sense of security.

Rhode asked: "President, don't you need to do something about them?"

"Let them be." Makarov picked up the mug Rhode just put down, sipped the beer.

Since no one was meditating, no need to worry about disturbing anyone, it's good to have some fun.

Not only that, but someone was betting on whether Macao or Wakaba would fall off the table first, and the old man even wagered 1000J.

"I thought it was chaotic those days just because the president was away." Rhode looked at the president who began cheering, in despair, "Isn't there anyone normal in this guild?"

"Don't say that." Mira chuckled while polishing a mug, "It's quite interesting this way."

The area where Macao and Wakaba were clattered loudly, the long table was soon smashed, chairs overturned.

The two wrestled for quite a while before separating, the crowd quickly lost interest and dispersed.

This brawl was just a small squabble in Fairy Tail, as the two uncles were quite restrained, not involving anyone else.

"Are they okay?" Rhode looked at the two sitting apart angrily, feeling a bit responsible for their fallout.

"No worries, they're always like this, soon they'll be back together drinking."

Mira wasn't concerned at all, she said to Makarov, "President, you still need to account for that beer earlier."

"Huh? That beer was ordered by Macao!"

"It was you who secretly drank it."

"Well..." Makarov failed to dodge the bill, feeling lackluster.

Rhode's image of a kind, gentle, dependable president gradually collapsed.

This old man seems so frivolous, no wonder the guild is such a mess, it must be due to following bad examples from above.

He was about to ask about the smashed table when he saw Laki walking over, making strange gestures:

"Wood-Make: Sincere Friendship Wooden Table!"

The shattered table surface and broken legs moved as if infused with life, bending, extending, then seamlessly merging back into the original long table form.

A bucktoothed fellow nearby quipped: "Why always use those weird names!"

Laki brushed her purple long hair back, adjusting her glasses: "Oh my, are you jealous of my magic and talent?"

"Who's jealous of that kind of thing!"

Laki indulged in her own world, cradling her face: "I am such a sinful woman."

Rhode: "..."

He noticed the hints earlier, and now it's pretty clear, Laki is quite the narcissist.

But her magic is quite convenient, almost rivaling Wood Escape Da He from the neighboring set.

No wonder everyone is so reckless when breaking things.
