Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: One-Month Trial Study, Free of Charge

Speaking of minoring in a Magic, the first thing Rhode thought of was Reby's Three-Dimensional Text Magic.

Reby, who uses Three-Dimensional Text Magic, likes to study various scripts. Would mastering multiple languages enhance this Magic?

Does the Mandarin I know have decent Power?

We'll know once we try.

Recently, Reby also felt that there's nothing worthwhile to teach Rhode about world knowledge.

Hearing that he wanted to learn Three-Dimensional Text Magic, Reby patted her chest and said she'd teach him, no charge for the first month.

Naturally, the entry to Magic starts with the most basic text.

Reby's fingertips sparkled with golden Magic Power, her wrist moved lightly, and the text took shape in midair:

"Three-Dimensional Text·FIRE!"

The golden Magic Power turned red the moment the

text was written, transforming into burning Flame, dancing in the air as Reby waved her arm.

Rhode picked up a piece of broken wood in the corner of the yard and threw it in, instantly igniting the wood.

But as the shape of 'FIRE' was destroyed, Reby found it increasingly difficult to control.

After sustaining it for a while, the Flame dissipated, leaving only a piece of charcoal burning on the ground.

"Three-Dimensional Text·WATER!"

Reby waved her hand again, writing the water text to extinguish the burning charcoal.

"Three-Dimensional Text Magic uses text written with Magic Power to mobilize elements or other Power that are typically difficult to manage.

To some extent, these texts are temporary Magic Tools we create. Once this step is completed, you can use them like Holding Magic."

"You can explain it that way?"

Rhode didn't know what to say, initially wanting to learn Ability Element, but Reby told him it's half Holding Magic.

"Even for the same Magic, everyone's experience is different, it's just my perspective."

Reby said, "Anyway, start with the first step, write out the text using Magic Power."

"...Okay." Rhode nodded, since he was already here, he might as well give it a try.

Reby explained in detail how to distribute Magic Power and make the Magic Power released through the fingers stay briefly in midair.

Listening, noting, and mimicking, Rhode asked whenever he didn't understand something.

Things related to practice cannot be taken lightly.

While the two were harmoniously teaching in the backyard, two pairs of eyes were watching them.

Jet and Troy were peeking through the doorframe of the Guild's back hall, each showing a head stealthily.

Jet complained: "Darn it, Rhode's so sly, using the excuse of learning Magic to stick around Reby!"

Troy said: "But... it seems like Reby was the one who approached him for learning the text."

"Anyway, if things continue like this, perhaps... we need to do something to make Reby understand our feelings."

Troy thought for a moment: "Then, challenge Rhode, prove we're stronger?"

"Already beaten, right in front of Reby." Jet said disappointedly, "How many wild creatures can you defeat?"

Troy touched his seed pouch: "As long as he doesn't use Stone Beetle..."

Jet reminded: "Rhode recently got a strange bird, its wings flapping like a rain of Throwing Knife feathers."

Troy hesitated: "Then, as long as he doesn't use that bird..."

Jet added: "He also has a wolf that can sneak up and knock you down from behind."

"Then, as long as he doesn't use that wolf..."

Jet sighed: "Might as well have Rhode bind his hands and feet for you to attack."

Troy found it a bit overboard: "What can I do, who becomes so strong after just over a month of practice?"

"No choice, we can only do it that way!" Jet turned to leave.

"Hey, Jet, where are you going?"

"Making a little preparation, I'll be back soon!" Jet used Divine Foot Magic, quickly disappearing from Troy's sight.

Reby pointed at the fragile text Rhode had just written: "Here, the distribution of Magic Power isn't even enough, adjust the output speed slightly."

"Okay." Rhode followed suit. The technique of this Text Magic was a bit demanding.

Even if wanting to exert miraculous Power, it needs continuous and consistent 'Power'. Rushing to release Magic Power recklessly won't work.

After practicing for a while, Reby suggested Rhode take a break, review the numerous mistakes before trying again.

Just then, Jet stormed into the backyard like a breeze, standing before Reby with a solemn expression, hands behind his back.

Reby asked puzzled: "Jet? What's up?"

Jet said seriously: "Reby, I have something important to tell you."

Oh wow, Rhode stepped back quietly, lowering his presence, sensing some drama unfolding.

Reby seemed to realize something and asked: "What's the matter, suddenly so serious?"

Jet took out a bunch of red roses from behind, bending down and offering the flowers to Reby.

"I like you, please go out with me!" After Jet finished this sentence in one breath, he closed his eyes, held his breath, awaiting Reby's reply like fate.

Reby showed a slight surprised expression. She hesitated for just a moment, then stepped back, her hands twisting behind her, not taking the flowers.

"Sorry, Jet, I don't have those feelings for you, but thank you for liking me."

Rhode was surprised to find that the usually gentle Reby was very decisive at this moment.

From Jet's confession to Reby's rejection, it took only two seconds.

"I see... is that so..." Jet said with difficulty, standing up, his face now with a stiff smile.

"Sorry for troubling you." Jet held the flowers with one hand, "Let this be a gift of apology or a token between friends."

Reby still didn't reach for the flowers, just shook her head smiling.

Jet withdrew his hand, forcing a smile: "Indeed, that's not appropriate. Well... I have something else to do."

Jet turned to leave, leaving behind a somewhat carefree silhouette.

Troy, who had been watching secretly, was stunned by Jet's series of actions.

He was first angry at Jet for running ahead, then nervously awaiting Reby's reply, and finally feeling bad for the rejected Jet.

Of course, in the midst of feeling bad, there was a hint of 'I have a chance' delight.

This hint of delight made Troy feel guilty, as they had been the best of friends since childhood. The right thing now was to be with Jet.

"Jet, you..." When Troy found the dejected Jet, he couldn't find the words.

He could totally imagine how upset Jet was now, and at such a time, any words seemed pointless.

Unexpectedly, Jet patted Troy's shoulder: "It's okay, I anticipated this outcome. But for you, Troy, go for it."

"What are you saying..."

"If you succeed, I will also bless you." Jet said, "We're still the best friends."

"Jet..."
