Chapter 492 - Chapter 165: Want to Be My Partner?

The guild is definitely a mess inside, with countless tables and chairs toppled on the first floor. People are gathered here and there, with more lying down than standing.

The second floor is better; many people are leaning over the railing watching the commotion. When they see the president stop, they sit back down to drink, looking a bit disinterested.

Wendy had been trying to imagine how beautiful it would be inside, but could only awkwardly comment, "It's completely unchanged inside."

Carla agreed, "In some ways, it's exactly the same."

Lucy helplessly said, "I really want to say something nice about the guild, but this is the norm now."

As soon as Erza returned, she went into Disciplinary Committee mode:

"You're causing trouble for the president again, get up and restore the first floor to its original state! Macao, Wakaba, Nabu, you're in charge of that area. Bigda, Marcus, you take care of this side... Honestly, gone for a few days, and it's like this again!"

She naturally began assigning tasks, and the lecturing and complaining didn't stop.

Wendy timidly said, "Miss Erza is so strict."

Mira smiled and reassured her, "It's okay, it won't be long before she'll ease up."

"Gray-sama!" Jubia tearfully rushed at Gray, "Were you out gallivanting? Did Lucy do anything to you?"

Gray dodged to the side, "Don't just suddenly cling on..."

Lucy mumbled innocently, "Why am I being dragged into this?"

Lucy wanted to get away from this place of trouble, but Jubia's tears formed a river, sweeping Lucy, Gray, Hapi, and the fallen Natsu out through the guild's main door.

"Waaah..." Lucy cried helplessly, "Someone stop her!"

Hapi was powerless as he got swept away, "Aye~~~ help!"

"Hey hey..." Without using magic, Gray could only go with the flow as well.

Rhode quickly pulled Mira and Wendy Charuru away, reminding, "President, maybe handle the most important task first?"

Makarov was taken aback, "Ah? How did you know I was rushing to write an apology?"

Charuru couldn't help but comment, "Normal people are truly a rare species in this guild."

Wendy quickly whispered, "Charuru, that's very impolite."

Rhode also paused for a moment, "You're writing another apology?"

Well, it made sense; after all, the Council had resumed operations, and maybe over these two months, the troublemakers caused issues and complaints that the Council finally began addressing.

"Cough, cough..." Makarov coughed twice to cover his embarrassment and skipped the topic, "Wendy and Charuru are here to play again, welcome, welcome."

Mira said, "No, they're not here to play; Wendy and Charuru are here to join our guild."

"Join?" Makarov confirmed, "You want to join Fairy Tail?"

"Mm!" Wendy quickly nodded, but then looked anxiously at him, "Is that okay?"

"Of course, it is." Makarov's face broke into a smile, "Come with me then."

Makarov directly retrieved a magic seal from the counter, handing the registration book to Rhode.

He asked with a smile, "Where would you like to place the emblem? What color do you prefer?"

Charuru was surprised, "Not even going to ask why?"

Such a familiar question, Mira smiled brightly at Rhode.

Rhode smiled and said, "Fairy Tail is like this, those things can be discussed later, or not at all."

Wendy chose the same blue as before, placing it on her right arm, Charuru also picked the same pink as earlier, setting it on her back.

Rhode wrote down the names 'Wendy Marvell' and 'Charuru,' noting the date.

With that, Wendy and Charuru officially became members of Fairy Tail.

After completing these tasks, Makarov loudly announced, "Let's welcome Wendy and Charuru to Fairy Tail!"

The noisy guild fell silent for a moment, then erupted into enthusiastic cheers.

Wendy shyly and politely greeted everyone.

Charuru forced a smile, but soon put on a nonchalant look again.

Whether it was Wendy's cute and obedient demeanor, or Charuru's tsundere disposition, they quickly won over many hearts.

Moreover, many people already knew Wendy, and when they spread the word about her magic being Sky Dragon Slayer Magic, the atmosphere became even more lively.

With the examples of Natsu, Gajeel, and Laxus, in everyone's eyes, using Dragon Slayer Magic meant power.

That this adorable little girl mastered such powerful magic meant the guild's strength increased, making everyone excited.

It was only then Wendy released all her anxiety, grateful for being accepted so quickly by everyone.

"In that case, let's throw a party today!" Makarov, really not wanting to write an apology today, shouted,

"To celebrate the victory over Oracion Seis, and to celebrate Wendy and Charuru joining our guild!"

"Ohhh!!!!"

The proposal for a party is rarely rejected, especially today with a double celebration. This guild, already lively, suddenly became even more bustling.

If anyone was unhappy in the guild, it was only Gajeel, watching Natsu and Wendy from the second floor.

Natsu, the Fire Dragon Slayer Mage, has a little blue flying cat.

Wendy, the Sky Dragon Slayer Mage, has a little white flying cat.

And he, Gajeel, the Iron Dragon Slayer Mage—has no cat!

This revelation hit Gajeel like a bolt from the blue, making him lose all mood for singing rock at such a lively banquet.

Gajeel certainly thought about Laxus as well, but he had learned from Ivan that Laxus only had a Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic Crystal implanted in his body, and wasn't raised by a dragon.

This meant that among the true Dragon Slayer Mages, he was the only one out of place.

Where exactly do these peculiar cats come from? Was there something Medalikana (Iron Dragon) didn't tell him?

The tough-talking Gajeel actually always longed to fit into the guild.

Yet today, he suddenly realized that not only couldn't he fit into the guild, but he couldn't even blend in with the Dragon Slayer Mage community.

He was sweating all over.

By any means necessary, he must quickly find a flying, talking cat!

The party, unsurprisingly, went on till late.

Wendy greeted many people in the guild; although she didn't memorize everyone's names, she had a general impression and felt that everyone was nice.

Charuru, on the other hand, felt the people in this guild matched her expectations—many eccentrics.

Rhode poured two glasses of juice, handing them to Wendy and Charuru, and asked with a smile, "Is it too noisy?"

One nodded decisively, the other smiled and shook her head.

"Charuru~" Wendy called out slightly reproachfully, but knowing Charuru, she wasn't genuinely disliking this place.

"These people are like this, and it will get even more lively later, uh... be careful of flying objects."

Wendy said bashfully, "I don't know why, but I can somehow imagine it."

Maybe it's because she saw too much of Gray and Natsu fighting over the past few days, and witnessed the chaotic state of the guild upon arriving.

Wendy looked around, cup in hand, and cautiously asked, "Is Jellal... Mystogan not around?"

"Oh, he rarely shows up at the guild, and even if he does, he hypnotizes everyone and wears a turban and mask, always so mysterious."

Rhode now somewhat understood him; whether he looked like a councilor or a dangerous criminal, it's a hassle.

Covering his face is indeed more convenient... hopefully, one day, he'll open up to his companions.

"Wendy, do you really want to see him?" Seeing Wendy's somewhat disappointed look, Rhode jokingly said, "Actually, I always planned to stuff him in a bag and give him a beating, wanna join?"

Wendy meekly said, "No need to go that far..."

"Right, in over a month, there will be a special exam, and Mystogan will likely be a proctor then, so you'll definitely see him."

Rhode said, "Wendy may not be able to take the exam, but you could partner up with a candidate. So... wanna be my partner?"
