Chapter 554 - Chapter 226: A Victory Without Suspense

"!!!" Mystogan widened his eyes. He seemed to have seen this thing before, but wasn't its power much weaker back then?

Could it be that on a stronger person, this additional magic called the Crown of Embers becomes more powerful?

Compared to Mystogan, Faust was even more shocked internally, "Impossible! Doroma Anim is the ultimate magical weapon of Edolas; it can't be harmed by magic!"

Kildas slightly raised his head, "Huh? Isn't it already damaged?"

The plain tone was the most stifling.

Faust was instantly filled with rage and shouted loudly, "Black Heaven!"

The silver-white metal dinosaur exploded with powerful magic power; the scar on its chin healed, and its body color turned black.

"Fall! Under the power of Doroma Anim: Black Heaven!"

The black dinosaur stomped, causing explosions to rise around it on the ground. It continuously absorbed the remaining scarce magic power of this world, raising its power to the peak.

The ground trembled with a rumbling sound as the Dragon Knight Armor opened its mouth once more, this time emitting an even thicker, pitch-black beam.

Just one look would reveal that this attack held immense destructive power, a level higher than before.

However, Kildas responded with what seemed to be just an ordinary punch.

The powerful black beam was instantly decomposed into countless small cubes, only this time instead of disappearing directly, they erupted with a series of explosions.

The originally formidable attack capable of shattering gold and stone was crushed into insignificant firecrackers.

Rhode understood why Kildas was called the strongest mage of the guild. This Smashing Magic appeared to only hold destructive power, yet he wielded it with such skill, balancing offense and defense.

No matter how complicated the enemy's attacks were, he countered them with a seemingly ordinary punch. Regardless of how solid the enemy's defense was, he still countered with an ordinary punch.

And ever since entering the city and starting the battle till now, even though Mira and Erza had the help of the Crown of Insight, they still needed occasional breaks to catch their breath.

Yet Kildas had almost never stopped.

This indicated his magic power had reached a terrifying level, so much so that those seemingly powerful attacks along the way were something he could handle with ease.

Boom!

Kildas punched down, and the Dragon Knight's black jaw was already smashed off, with the cannon inside its mouth shattered as well.

As two magazines on its back opened, Mira and Erza flew over, each pounding down on the magazine covers, causing them to deform and jam.

The missiles exploded inside the magazine, causing thick black smoke to billow from the Dragon Knight Armor's back, making it look quite distressed.

Just as it was about to gather energy to counterattack, Erza's Serrated Saber cleaved into the Dragon Knight's left leg, and Demon Shutri's fist struck the Dragon Knight's right leg.

Red streaks of light flashed, sounds of cracking echoed from the joints of its hind legs, and the Dragon Knight wobbled, unable to move anymore.

At this moment, Kildas landed an uppercut on the Dragon Knight's chest, "Exorcism and Righteousness·One Day!"

Rhode couldn't see much difference between this move and an ordinary boxing action, only that the eruption of magic power at that moment was awe-inspiring.

The Dragon Knight's chest crumbled open with a clatter under this strike, shattering even its back into pieces of black metal.

Faust in the cockpit was sent flying out through the hole, drawing a parabolic line as he fell to Mystogan's feet.

The Dragon Knight Armor collapsed with a thud, its entire body turning into neatly squared fragments.

Kildas rubbed his fist and grinned, "This guy is tough enough."

Faust's aging body nearly fell apart, and the blood he spat out stained his beard.

He stared blankly at the sky, muttering, "Mon... Monster."

Mystogan looked at the person on the ground with a complex expression.

There were more monsters in the guild than just these few.

Edolas made the wrong decision, provoking enemies they should never have provoked.

Screech!

Rhode stuck a flagpole beside Faust's ear, "You lost, King of Edolas."

Faust widened his eyes, the red and gold-edged white-patterned flag fluttered in the wind like a fairy dancing in flames.

He slightly raised his head as he watched Kildas, Erza, and Mira walking over, fearfully supporting himself backward with his arms.

He had just stumbled backward when he bumped into Mystogan's leg.

The runaway prince, the mountain-sized magic crystal, the broken Extalia, the routed Magic War Team, the destructive Giant Dragon, the ruined Royal Capital, the battered Dragon Knight Armor...

Scenes flashed before his eyes, and in the end, what remained was that fiery, fluttering flag.

Are the mages of Aslan that powerful?

Was the Anima plan a wrong decision?

Is infinite magic power an unrealistic fantasy?

Faust lost all strength in an instant, collapsing on the ground, "We... We lost..."

...

The battle ends here.

To kill his father in front of Mystogan... Such a thing cannot be done by Rhode or Kildas and the others.

So figuring out how to wrap up became another headache.

Rhode decided to tackle the present task first: rescuing the members of Fairy Tail in Edolas.

Even though these people were equipped with Magic Tools, they couldn't compare to the Dragon Knight Armor, which was immune to magic attacks, and they had been beaten badly.

If Rhode and the others had been any slower, dozens of them might have been executed on the spot by Faust.

"Rhode!"

"Kildas!"

"Erza!"

"Sister!"

Various calls resounded; the guild companions had arrived, and even the President was there.

Rhode roughly counted the number of people and exclaimed, "Why are you all here? What about Magnolia?"

Makarov said, "The city and the residents have all been sent back, thanks to Mystogan finding the remnants of Anima."

Turns out they hadn't been gone long before encountering Mystogan. After some discussion, they decided to send the city and civilians back first and then come to support the four.

Mystogan's mount was faster, while everyone else rushed as they could but still hadn't made it in time for the battle.

Feeling awkward about the Royal Capital's devastation, everyone averted their eyes. Although they didn't cause it, this familiar scene filled them with a shared sentiment of 'being honored.'

"Damn, is it over just like that?" Natsu skipped out unsatisfied, "I haven't even joined the battle yet!"

Gajeel deeply felt the same; did the four of them really take down an entire Royal Capital so quickly? Even with Kildas, the Fairy Queen, and the Demon Sister-in-Chief. Also...

Gajeel unusually sighed; the battle ending so fast did seem reasonable.

"Never mind that now, let's rescue people," Rhode pointed at the wounded lying nearby, "Quick, save yourselves! If you can't save yourself, save someone else!"
