Chapter 574 - Chapter 246: The Sister-in-Law Hit by Setbacks

"Hani Dessert House?" Lisana curiously looked at the sign above, "A place I haven't been to before."

"Of course, this shop only opened last year."

"Hmm~~~ Could it be the place where you and sister had dates?"

"You guessed it right."

"Is it really okay to bring me here?"

"But there's no choice." Rhode looked at her puzzled expression and said, "Guess how many shops in the whole Magnolia we haven't been to?"

"..." True, they've been dating for so long.

Lisana walked in sullenly, determined to eat a lot today.

"Welcome! Welcom... huh?!! Mr. Rhode!"

The hostess at the entrance first bowed to greet Lisana, then turned to greet the person following her.

But when she recognized Rhode, she covered her mouth, looking incredulous.

Rhode asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Lisana also curiously looked at her. Could brother-in-law's reputation be that high?

Once the hostess recovered, she pointed at Rhode with anger: "Heartbreaker!"

"?" Lisana tilted her head. Does brother-in-law have a story?

"Huh?" Rhode carefully looked at the hostess in front of him. She was quite pretty, and he's seen her a few times, but they definitely weren't familiar.

Rhode didn't even know her name, let alone did anything to break her heart.

Could someone be causing trouble under his name? First suspect Loki.

"Miss, you..."

Before Rhode could finish, the hostess interrupted, pointing at Lisana:

"You're about to marry Miss Mirajane, yet you're out on a date with another girl! I even secretly blessed you two!"

The young woman's fierce accusation drew a lot of attention, with customers whispering inside the shop and passersby casting curious glances.

Mirajane's fiancé out shopping with another girl? Big news.

Rhode, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief; it was just a misunderstanding. This reaction seemed big, must be a Mira fan?

"Umm..." Lisana didn't expect to be mistaken for her sister's rival.

The hostess stared at Lisana: "Clearly not as pretty as Miss Mirajane, nor has her figure, so what makes you worth doing something that betrays Miss Mirajane?"

Lisana had mixed feelings; happy someone defended her sister, yet she felt she should be angry about those comments on her looks and figure.

But it was the truth; Lisana admitted she didn't match up to her sister, so she couldn't muster anger, feeling very uncomfortable.

Seeing Lisana's conflicted expression, Rhode almost couldn't hold back his laughter.

Lisana gave him an annoyed look, then explained her identity to the hostess.

Some people recognized Lisana. Having heard rumors of her 'resurrection' recently, and being firsthand witnesses of the Edolas incident, they easily believed her words.

The hostess blushed and quickly apologized to both of them.

The shop manager also reprimanded her a bit, invited them to sit, and offered them some new items for free as an apology.

Finally, the two could sit down and eat in peace.

Though Lisana kept glaring at Rhode from time to time: "Stop laughing."

"Alright."

"Laugh again, and I'll tell sister when we get back."

"Mmm, it'd be a shame not to share something this amusing with her."

Lisana felt like she'd hit a wall of cotton; this person isn't afraid of threats at all.

She angrily started eating the dessert.

Rhode suppressed his laughter, watching Lisana finish a small cake, asked, "Is this good?"

"Not bad."

Rhode called for the hostess: "This, pack two!"

"Two? Who else besides sister?"

"One for Mira, one for Wendy. Mira said your taste is similar, and Wendy loves all sweets."

"You and Wendy have a good relationship."

"Yeah, not just me, Mira really likes her too."

If Lisana hadn't returned, Mira might have taken Wendy as her own little sister.

Rhode watched Lisana start on the second one, asked, "How's this one?"

Lisana nodded, "Also good."

"Pack two of this as well. What about the macarons?"

"A bit sour, not really fond of them."

"Then just pack one."

"Why pack if it's not liked?"

Rhode smirked: "Take it to Laki; I guess her taste is unique. She'll love it."

"..." Lisana paused, then said, "You and sister are a perfect match."

Rhode beamed and said, "Thanks for the compliment."

...

After eating, the two bought everything they needed and headed back to the Guild together.

Some of the carrying tasks were handed to River Crab, and part was delivered by the merchants.

Rhode only carried a few boxes of snacks, while Lisana hugged a monkey plush, smiling like an ordinary little girl.

"Brother Rhode, and... Sister Lisana!" Romeo ran up to them.

"Romeo? You've grown this tall already." Lisana almost didn't recognize him; when she left, Romeo was only four, and now he was six, a significant change.

"I heard from dad that Sister Lisana came back to life. I thought he was drunk, but it turns out to be true!" Romeo exclaimed excitedly.

Lisana patted Romeo's head: "Not back to life, just never found the way home. Mages of Fairy Tail are not that easy to die."

"Yeah!" Romeo earnestly nodded, remembered this point: Fairy Tail mages get lost, but don't die.

But then he looked a bit sad: "But when I heard about you before... I was sad for a long time."

"I'm sorry for worrying you." Lisana reached out to Rhode, "Brother-in-law."

Rhode handed her a box of snacks.

Lisana gave the snacks to Romeo: "As an apology, enjoy these."

"Thanks, Sister Lisana!"

"You're welcome, you're welcome." Called sister repeatedly, Lisana smiled happily.

Maybe every younger sister sometimes enjoys being a big sister.

"Wanna go to the Guild?" Rhode pointed at the River Crab behind, "You can ride it there."

"Really?" Romeo was clearly tempted but then shook his head, "Not the Guild today, I'm starting magic lessons!"

"Really?"

"Yeah! Once I learn powerful magic, I'll join Fairy Tail too!"

This kid's eyes sparkled at the mention of Fairy Tail, clearly from the heart liking this Guild.

"Then work hard."

Lisana added encouragement: "When Romeo can do a mission, let me guide you?"

"Huh?" Romeo, with no hidden motives, straightforwardly said, "But I want to team up with Brother Natsu..."

Lisana bowed her head dejectedly.

Only then did Romeo realize he spoke wrongly: "Ah, Sister Lisana, I'm sorry! You can too!"
