Chapter 124: Destiny HERO vs. Cyber Dragon
A mechanical dragon wreathed in red lightning slowly descended before Ryo Marufuji, its streamlined body containing terrifying energy.

"I Set three cards and end my turn." Ryo Marufuji smiled. "Alright, it's your turn. Let me see what kind of progress you've made over the years."
"Don't get so smug. You're not the only one who's gained new power! My turn, I draw!" Aster Phoenix drew a card in a fit of anger.
"I activate the Spell Card, Destiny Draw! By discarding one 'Destiny HERO' monster from my hand, I draw two cards!"
"I activate the effect of the Destiny HERO - Malicious I just sent to the Graveyard!"
"By banishing this card from my Graveyard, I can Special Summon one 'Destiny HERO - Malicious' from my Deck."
"Come forth! My second Destiny HERO - Malicious!"
"I Summon Destiny HERO - Drilldark in Attack Position!"
"When Destiny HERO - Drilldark is Normal or Special Summoned, I can Special Summon one 'Destiny HERO' monster from my hand with ATK less than or equal to this card's ATK."

Aster Phoenix placed his hands together in front of his chest, and the two HEROes fused behind him.
"Fusion Summon! Level 8! Come on! Destiny HERO - Dystopia!"

"When Destiny HERO - Dystopia is Special Summoned, I can target one Level 4 or lower 'Destiny HERO' monster in my Graveyard and inflict damage to my opponent equal to that monster's ATK."
"I target Destiny HERO - Drilldark in my Graveyard, with its 1600 ATK, to inflict 1600 points of effect damage to you! Palm of Oppression!"
Dystopia leaped high, unleashing a wave of dark energy toward Kaiser.
"Still the same old tricks? After all these years, have you made no progress at all?" Kaiser faced Dystopia's attack not with fear, but with a mocking laugh.
"I activate the effect of Cyber Dragon Infinity! Once per turn, when a card's effect is activated, I can detach one Xyz Material from this card to negate that activation and destroy it!"
A golden orb of light orbiting the mechanical dragon's side surged between its wings. A moment later, a current of dark red electricity whistled out, engulfing the energy blast fired by Dystopia before striking the monster itself, shattering it to pieces.
"If this is the extent of your strength, then you are no longer worthy of facing me!" Ryo Marufuji looked at Aster Phoenix, a hint of disappointment in his eyes.
"Then as you wish! Let me show you the new power I have obtained!" Aster Phoenix gritted his teeth.
"I activate the Spell Card, Over Destiny! I target one 'Destiny HERO' monster in my Graveyard, then Special Summon one 'Destiny HERO' monster from my Deck whose Level is half of that monster's Level or less. The monster Special Summoned by this effect is destroyed during this turn's End Phase."
"I target the Level 8 Destiny HERO - Dystopia in my Graveyard to Special Summon the Level 4 Destiny HERO - Diamond Dude from my Deck!"
"I activate the effect of Destiny HERO - Diamond Dude!"
"Once per turn, I can reveal the top card of my Deck. If it's a Normal Spell, I send it to the Graveyard. Otherwise, I place it on the bottom of my Deck. If a Normal Spell is sent to the Graveyard by this effect, I can activate that Normal Spell's effect from the Graveyard during my next Main Phase." Aster Phoenix said, revealing the top card of his Deck.
"It's the Normal Spell, Destiny Draw!" After showing it, Aster Phoenix sent the card to the Graveyard.
"I activate the effect of Destiny HERO - Malicious in my Graveyard! I banish this card to Special Summon my third Malicious from the Deck!"
"Next, I Tribute the three monsters on my field—Destiny HERO - Celestial, Destiny HERO - Diamond Dude, and Destiny HERO - Malicious! I Special Summon this card from my hand!"
"Come forth! The ultimate Destiny HERO! Destiny HERO - Plasma!"
The three HEROes on Aster Phoenix's field transformed into three pillars of blood-red light. Countless bats filled the sky as a warrior wreathed in an ominous aura stepped forth from the light.

"As long as Destiny HERO - Plasma is on the field, the effects of all monsters my opponent controls are negated!" Aster Phoenix declared. "And I'll activate Plasma's other effect!"
"Once per turn, I can target one monster you control and equip it to this card." Aster Phoenix stared fiercely at Cyber Dragon Infinity on Ryo Marufuji's field. "That pesky Xyz Monster will become food for mine!"
Plasma spread its wings, shooting a ray of crimson light toward Cyber Dragon Infinity.
"I activate my Trap Card, Infinite Impermanence! I target one face-up monster you control, and its effects are negated until the end of the turn." Ryo Marufuji waved his hand, activating the Trap. An illusory Cyber Dragon Infinity surged from the card, forcing Plasma back.
"Not enough! Still not enough!" After blocking Plasma's attack, Ryo Marufuji seemed to be going mad. "Is that all? This... this makes my years of training feel completely meaningless!"
"Then let me show you the ultimate power I have obtained!" With a ferocious expression, Aster Phoenix slammed a card onto his Duel Disk.
"I activate the Spell Card, Fusion Destiny!"
"I send 'Destiny HERO' Fusion Materials from my Deck to the Graveyard to perform a Fusion Summon! The monster summoned by this effect is destroyed during the next End Phase."
"From my Deck, I send Destiny HERO - Celestial and Destiny HERO - Dasher to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon!"
Aster Phoenix placed his hands together in front of his chest as endless hellfire spread from beneath his feet.
"Hero who shatters the shackles of fate at extreme speed! Hero blessed with divinity! Now, become one! Treading upon the burning flames of hell, bring an end to this world in the form of an immortal phoenix! Fusion Summon! Level 8! Come on! Destiny HERO - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer!"
Accompanied by a resounding phoenix cry, the hero wreathed in flames unfurled its phoenix wings, standing as an equal to the mechanical dragon before Ryo Marufuji.
