After Nash blocked Yūga Hōzumi's attack with a card, Yūga Hōzumi had no other way to break through. He could only set one card and end his turn.
"My turn! Draw!" Nash calmly drew a card.
"At this moment, I activate the effect of Abyss Dweller! Once per turn, by detaching one Xyz Material from this card, my opponent cannot activate any card effects in their Graveyard this turn."
During the Standby Phase, Yūga Hōzumi immediately used his Abyss Dweller's effect.
Nash didn't react to his Graveyard being sealed. Instead, he slammed the card he drew onto his Duel Disk.
"I activate Rank-Up-Magic - The Seventh One!"
"Target one 'Over-Hundred Number' monster on my field or in my Extra Deck or Graveyard. If the chosen monster is in the Extra Deck or Graveyard, I Special Summon it, ignoring its summoning conditions, but its effects are negated. Then, I Xyz Summon a 'Chaos Number' monster that is one Rank higher and has the same number as the chosen monster by using it as Xyz Material."
"I Special Summon Number 101: Silent Honor ARK from my Graveyard, then use it to Xyz Summon again!"
"O guardian of the unsatisfied soul, become a dark knight and crush the light! Rank-Up Xyz Change! Appear! Chaos Number 101: Silent Honor DARK!"
Dark red light shot from the card between Nash's fingers, transforming into a vortex in the air that radiated with surging energy. A massive battleship slowly emerged from it. A moment later, the battleship's cockpit opened, and an armored knight holding a long spear leaped out. A dark red cross descended from the sky, landing before the knight.
Chaos Number 101: Silent Honor DARK ATK: 2800
"I activate the effect of Chaos Number 101: Silent Honor DARK! Once per turn, I can target one monster on my opponent's field and attach it to this card as an Xyz Material."
The armored knight raised its spear and shot a beam of dark red light at Utopia Ray V. Utopia Ray V barely struggled before it was converted into a dark red, cross-shaped Xyz Material beneath the knight.
The two dark red crosses on Yūga Hōzumi's field shattered as well. There was nothing Yūga Hōzumi could do; that's the power of non-targeting, non-destruction removal.
After dealing with Utopia Ray V, Nash waved his hand to enter the Battle Phase. "Time to battle! Chaos Number 101: Silent Honor DARK, attack Abyss Dweller!"
The armored knight in the air hurled its spear, piercing the sea serpent lurking in the puddle straight through.
Yūga Hōzumi LP: 2000 → 900
"I set one card and end my turn."
"Kid, it's your turn," Nash said, looking at Yūga Hōzumi.
Yūga Hōzumi carefully assessed the situation on the field and felt a sense of relief. A slight smile touched the corner of his mouth; he should be able to win this duel.
Besides the Dark Knight on his field and a set card, Nash's hand was empty. It was clear he was in a top-decking stage.
Although Yūga Hōzumi's field was currently empty and his Life Points were in the triple digits, the resources in his hand were still enough to mount a brilliant counterattack.
Fortunately, Yūga Hōzumi knew better than to jinx himself in front of such a master by lamenting that his life points were like a candle in the wind. He simply drew a card calmly.
"My turn! Draw!"
"He can still remain calm in a situation like this? He's much stronger than that other kid was at this stage." Nash nodded in satisfaction as he watched Yūga Hōzumi carefully consider his options after drawing his card.
"I activate the Spell Card, Pot of Avarice! I return five monsters from my Graveyard to my Deck—Number 39: Utopia, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Astral Kuriboh, ZS - Ascended Sage, and Zubababancho - Gagagacoat—to draw two cards!"
"I summon Zubababancho - Gagagacoat in Attack Position!"
"I activate the effect of Zubababancho - Gagagacoat!"
"I target one 'Gogogo' or 'Dododo' monster in my Graveyard and Special Summon it!"
"Revive! Utopic Onomatopeia!"
"I activate the effect of Utopic Onomatopeia!"
"Once per turn, I can Special Summon one 'Zubaba' monster, one 'Gagaga' monster, one 'Gogogo' monster, and one 'Dododo' monster from my hand!"
"Appear! Gagaga Magician!"
"I overlay the Level 4 Gagaga Magician and Utopic Onomatopeia!"
"O great sage robed in light, descend now and open the path for the light of hope! Xyz Summon! Appear, Rank 4, Utopic Sage!"
Holy light flashed, and a great sage in golden robes descended behind the two monsters before him.
Utopic Sage DEF: 2500
"I activate the effect of Utopic Sage!"
"By detaching two Xyz Materials from this card, I can Special Summon one 'ZW -' monster or 'ZS -' monster from my Deck."
"Appear! ZS - Ascended Sage!"
"I overlay the Level 4 ZS - Ascended Sage and Zubababancho - Gagagacoat!"
"Appear, warrior of hope! Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Number 39: Utopia!"
As Utopia reappeared in a flash of golden light, it stared at its old rival not far away. Its gaze sharpened, and the Moon Blade in its hand radiated a dazzling light.
"Utopia was Xyz Summoned using ZS - Ascended Sage as material, so its effect activates! I add one Rank-Up-Magic spell from my Deck to my hand!"
"I add Rank-Up-Magic Zexal Force to my hand, and now I activate it!"
"Appear, Beast-Lord Armor forged from the bonds of our partnership! With hope, brandish the sword of victory! Rank-Up Xyz Change! Come forth, Rank 5! Leo Utopia Ray!"
Golden Beast-Lord Armor leaped from the vortex created by the Rank-Up-Magic, smoothly merging with Utopia in the air. Utopia's aura surged, rivaling the Dark Knight standing before Nash.
Leo Utopia Ray ATK: 2500
"I activate the effect of Leo Utopia Ray! Once per turn, by detaching one Xyz Material from this card, I can choose one 'ZW -' monster from my Deck or Extra Deck and equip it to this card!"
"I equip this card with ZW - Unicorn Spear from my Deck!"
Leo Utopia Ray ATK: 2500 → 4400
"Battle! Leo Utopia Ray, attack Chaos Number 101: Silent Honor DARK!"
At Yūga Hōzumi's command, Leo Utopia Ray charged toward the Dark Knight, a sword in one hand and a spear in the other.
"At this moment, the effect of Leo Utopia Ray activates! Once per turn, since this card is equipped with a 'ZW -' monster, I can target one effect monster on my opponent's field! That monster's effects are negated, and its ATK is halved!"
