Chapter 12 - Fire of Power

Heading inside the manor there was a change in the atmosphere, as he looked around he noticed that the servants looked at him differently, not with eyes of scorn but of awe.

'So awakening makes them act like this to me or is it because they think I'll get two elements. Haha. People are so predictable. ' Sighing he entered his room and shut the door.

He smiled as he pulled up the status screen remembering how they treated him before he awakened and now, the difference was like night and day.

"From now on my life is gonna change I have to train harder to qualify for the Imperial academy. "

The Imperial academy is the most prestigious school for magic users located on an island of its own near the royal capital of the Crysheim Kingdom. It accepts both nobles and commoners equally on the surface, but deeper there is a divide between the nobles and commoners.

Lying down on his bed Izana closed his eyes and drifted to sleep peacefully.

Sunrise approached painting the pale blue sky in a tint of orange as the sun slowly rose from its slumber signifying a new day had begun. The household of the Raiden sprung to life, maids moving about attending to choirs butlers moving about, guards switching shifts and patrolling, family members moving about.

In a massive bedroom Kor was with James discussing their plan of action. A back and forth discussion before Kor opened the window and flew out of it at lightning speed.

"That man, he should have just let me go instead of just bolting out of the room. " Jake massaged his temples and sat back down on the bed.

And if you are wondering why he couldn't try and stop him it's because he couldn't. He could not even catch him if Kor wanted to leave.

Sighing he lit a candle in his mind for count Heddo because after today he was not seeing tomorrow.

"He should have just left us now he has touched the tail of the Raidens. " Shaking the thoughts away he focused on the business of the day.

Waking up Izana hurriedly freshened up and went for breakfast, reaching there he saw only Miria seating on the table eating in an elegant manner different from her earlier behaviour. The moment she saw him she smiled and put the cutleries shifting her focus to him.

"Good morning brother hope you are enjoying this fine morning. " She put on a smile that could leave men defenceless but Izana just shrugged, looking at the table and answered. "Yes sister the morning is rather pleasant today. "

'Talking like this is so hard. ' Izana complained in his head as he sat down opposite her and started eating.

Seeing this Miria smiled before responding "I see it in your eyes you think noble talk us hard and you are right it's a bother. Me and you we a re different from the rest of our siblings. They try so hard to get our father's attention but you, your train of thoughts are different. You remind me of myself your age. " She returned to eating letting her words settle in the air, returning the hall to a comfortable silence.

"What do you mean by that? " Izana asked before putting a piece of meat into his mouth closing his eyes to savour the taste of it.

"The fire in your eyes. When you awakened i saw that genuine fire that lit in your eyes. The fire of power as I call it. " She replied nonchalantly.

"Fire huh? " Izana muttered his voice low.

"And since I figured that out so will dad and grandpa which means get ready for training on hell difficulty. Haha. " She said and continued eating. "It's going to be way harder than the training you are used to. They will push you to your limits and beyond. But if you somehow can survive the training and grow with it you will get stronger and I can't wait to see that happen. " She smiled as she stood up from her chair.

"That was a pleasant conversation brother hope you will enjoy your day. I look forward to the day where we will fight to our heart's content. Haha. " With that she left the hall and Izana to his thoughts.

"As expected of the crazy lightning princess, all she cares about is fighting. I look Fire Art to that day too and to realise that I have to get stronger. " Thinking that, he stood up and left the hall with a place in mind.

He arrived just outside his father's office.

Knock Knock...

"Come in " His voice was unusually low as if distracted by thoughts.

Izana pushed the door and entered the office that was clean and well organised and seated behind the table was a man with a muscular build and a serious expression on his face.

"Morning father. " Izana bowed out of respect for Jake.

"Morning Izana, I wonder what happened for you to come and visit me I'm sure it's not because of tea. " Jake said as he gestured for Izana to sit.

But Izana did not see it because he was wondering 'Did dad just try to make a joke and with his serious expression. I'm sure grandpa Kor put him up to this. ' Catching himself he sat down and looked at his father.

"I want to start my training with grandpa Kor today. " Izana looked at him with confidence and Jake saw it.

"The training is going to be hard you will wish you quit, your muscles will ache, limbs will cry for help, bones will be broken do you still want to still do it " Jake said while subtly releasing a little pressure on Izana.

Izana feeling the pressure but have already made up his mind stood up. "Yes dad! I have made up my mind. I have to get stronger. " Jake saw his younger self as his son, that fire of power in his eyes.

Jake replied with a rare sincere smile shocking Izana.

"Hm. Since you want the training so badly you will get it but not now your grandpa has some business to attend to. " Jake finally said.

"Ok. Bye dad. I'll be going now. " Izana took his leave. 'I wonder what Grandpa Kor is doing? Probably something awesome. ' He thought as he went out to train.
