Chapter 3 - CHAPTER TWO

KATHLEEN'S POV

The day went by so fast. Lillian and Melissa helped me pack my things, and they slept over. That night, Lillian and I teased Melissa and forced her to gist us about what transpired between her and Matt.

"Nothing, we just talked about random things. Matt is actually fun to be with…" she continued talking until we all fell asleep.

The next day, we skipped school and packed the remaining of my things all day.

The following morning, Mrs. McKenzie and my friends accompanied me to the airport. Lillian and Melissa were a crying mess. Even Mrs. McKenzie had tears in her eyes. Cuddling me, she whispered that she was going to miss me.

The plane was scheduled to leave immediately. I waved goodbye to my friends one last time before stepping inside. The journey to California was fun. I met a girl—she said her name was Rocky—and we chatted all the way until we landed.

When I got down, I waved her goodbye and looked around. Then, I saw my family waving at me from a corner. I ran to them, but before I could reach them, my shoelace loosened, and I found myself falling—slowly. Suddenly, a hand caught me by the waist.

When I opened my eyes, I met a pair of striking green eyes staring into mine.

I stood up straight, taking in my savior's face. He had green eyes that seemed to bore into my skin, a pointed nose, and lips that looked so perfect they could be edible—giving him a demi-god look.

I blinked once, apologized quickly, and ran to my family. As I did, I heard him whisper, "Kath."

"Hey, sis! How are you? You look big now," Alex, my younger brother, said.

"Yeah, she looks like an angel," Antonio, my elder brother, added.

Antonio had brown eyes, unlike my ocean-blue ones or Alex's. He was very handsome, and every girl tripped for him, wishing to be his. But he was a complete playboy—and a singer.

"Awww, big bro, you look even more handsome! Tell me, how many girls did you flirt with this year?" I teased.

"Language, Kath!" Mom—Mrs. Randall—scolded gently, and I turned to her.

"Look at my lovely mother—still the best fashionista! Where's Dad?"

"Right here, pumpkin," Mr. Randall—known as the second richest man in California—said as I ran to hug him.

The ride home was fun. Alex kept filling me in about everything I needed to know about Crystal Bird High and the people there.

When we got home, Mom and Alex showed me my room. It was decorated in purple—my favorite color. The bed was a queen-sized one, covered with a soft purple duvet.

"Do you like your room? Alex designed it," Mom said.

"I love it so much! Thanks, Ryder!" (Ryder was the nickname we all called him.) "I love you," I said, hugging him.

"Ewww! Don't love me, I'm not your boyfriend. Anyway, I'm happy you like it," he said and ran downstairs.

I walked into the room and jumped on the bed. It was so comfy that before I knew it, I fell asleep…
