"He needs complete rest for now," I declared, placing both hands firmly against his chest.

The wound resisted my touch with stubborn malice. Scorching heat radiated through the bandages as the torn edges attempted to mend themselves, only to split apart again with a sickening wet tear. I pressed deeper, searching beyond the surface damage until I located the source of contamination. The poison clung there like a parasite, and I began the delicate process of extraction. Dark, granular threads emerged slowly, each one fighting my pull as they unraveled from blood vessels like thorned vines. I coaxed them out strand by strand into the waiting basin that Allen positioned beneath my hands. The moment the final specks lifted free, the burning heat dissipated. The constant bleeding transformed from a torrent to a trickle, then ceased entirely.
