Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: The Unquantifiable Mass

The moment Elara, Lira, Thorne, and Sira stepped into the Hanging Library of Thoth, the door sealed with a silent, crushing finality. The vast chamber, filled with gracefully floating data tablets and scrolls, suddenly felt like a massive pressure cooker.

A colossal figure detached itself from the shadows—the Ancient Gravitas Golem. It was a massive humanoid construct of polished, dark metal, its surface etched with intricate Gravitas Proofs. It didn't walk; it compressed space. Its movement was silent, deliberate, and based on hyper-precise gravitational vectors, making every step a predictable, quantifiable threat.

"Intruders. Your mass and momentum are non-canonical," the Golem projected, its voice a low, resonant hum that vibrated through the air itself. "By the law of Controlled Mass, you must be reduced to Zero-Point Inertia."

The Golem raised a massive, blocky hand. The gravitational field around Thorne, the heaviest target, intensified instantly. Thorne gasped, his Foundation Qi screaming in resistance as the Golem attempted to calculate his precise mass and use it to crush him into the floor.

"It's not attacking us physically; it's using pure gravitational vectoring!" Elara yelled, her mind racing. "It knows our mass! It's the ultimate predictable weapon!"

"We can't fight mass with kinetic energy!" Thorne roared, sinking slightly into the Gravitas-Proof floor. "My armor is useless! It's increasing my own weight!"

Elara had to find the flaw in the Gravitas Axiom. The Golem's attack was based on one assumption: Mass is constant. But Elara was no longer constant; she was the Living Anchor.

"Lira, Nomads, create a Kinetic Distraction!" Elara ordered. "Make noise! I need to become an unquantifiable variable!"

Lira and Sira fired their energy proofs, which the Golem effortlessly redirected into the ceiling using a simple Vector Repulsion Proof. The Golem didn't even look at them; it was still calculating Thorne's crush trajectory.

Elara channeled a burst of the Controlled Entropy Battery (CEB) into her entire body. She didn't release the energy outward; she forced the raw chaos inward, onto the dimensional bond that linked her matter to the Aetherforge's rules.

Chaos equals Unmaking.

For a terrifying, fractional second, Elara Voss had no measurable mass. She executed a Zero-Point Entropy Proof, momentarily telling the universe that her physical presence was mathematically undefined.

The Gravitas Golem's attack vector targeting Elara immediately encountered a Null Variable. Its complex calculation proof crashed.

BZZZZZZT!

The Golem froze, its Gravitas Proofs flickering with confusion. The very foundation of its existence—predictable mass—had been violated.

Elara, feeling momentarily weightless, used the massless momentum to push off the wall, accelerating across the chamber in a terrifying, erratic trajectory. She aimed her Blade of Temporal Integrity at the Golem's core.

"You rely on the lie of order!" Elara yelled. "I am the truth of chaos!"

The Gravitas Golem, still struggling to resolve the "zero mass" anomaly, was too slow to react. Elara slammed the Blade into its core. The Blade, designed to define Causal Paths, sent a counter-proof of Immutable Entropy into the Golem's system.

The Golem didn't explode. It simply lost its gravitational coherence. Its massive metal body instantly became an inert, unmoving pile of metal, unable to assert its own weight.
