Chapter 5 - Building a house!

Three warriors surrounded me, their eyes glinting with malice.

"What do you want?" I asked, gripping my stone axe.

"Hey, trash! Those logs are wasted on a lowlife like you!"

"We'll put them to better use. Hand them over and scram!"

"Don't do this. Your supporters are watching."

"You idiot! Hurting a Special Training Class nobody won't ruin us!"

"If I rough you up, my supporters might even cheer! Gahaha!"

"I didn't mean it like that…"

I sighed, pitying their reckless choice so early in the school year.

"What?! We're warriors! No way we'd lose to a jobless nobody!"

I shifted my grip, holding the axe not for trees but for combat.

"Your profession may be Warrior, but I'm an expert in axe fighting."

"If this is what you want, come at me."

"Shut up, you bastard!"

A warrior swung his iron axe down, but I countered with a side-swipe.

Zudokaaa!

My Battle Axe User skill, "Weapon Destruction," shattered their axes like brittle cookies.

The warriors gaped, clutching the splintered remains in horror.

"What the hell just happened?!"

"My precious axe—it's ruined!"

"If word gets out, our class is done for!"

"Damn it! I'll—"

"What then?" I cut in, thrusting my axe at their feet.

"Hii?!" They screamed, collapsing to their knees.

"Please… forgive us!" one begged, pride abandoned.

"I'm so sorry!" another wailed as they scrambled away.

My body glowed, and a window appeared: You've leveled up!

"Oh!" I exclaimed, thrilled at the unexpected gain.

Chopping a tree and trouncing warriors leveled me up?

New professions unlocked, and I saw "Carpenter" among them.

Perfect timing—I need to build a house.

I switched to Carpenter and declared, "Let's get to work!"

First, I'd haul the lumber to a clear area.

Carrying it by hand would take too long, and I needed more wood.

A cart would let me transport everything efficiently.

Despite lacking tools, my Carpenter skills made crafting one a breeze.

Appraisal: This cart can carry five times a normal cart's load.

I felled five more trees, yielding 50 pieces of "Gisu Wood (Large)."

I loaded them onto the cart, securing them with vines, and left the forest.

The castle loomed in the distance, surrounded by students building villages.

Each class had an assigned plot for their houses.

I wondered where the Special Training Class's land was.

Searching with my enhanced Five Senses, I could spot details like pasta sticks 100 meters away.

But no plot near the castle was marked for my class.

Turning back, I spotted a sign in the forest: Garbage Dump (Special Training Class Residential Site).

They expect me to live in the woods? Fine.

I parked the cart by the sign and started building.

I'd always been handy, crafting things since childhood.

I'd helped build houses before, but this was my first solo project.

Activating my "Wooden Construction" skill, my body moved like a master carpenter's.

Using the "Mokumigumi" method, I joined wood pieces without nails, like solving a puzzle.

The work was so engaging I lost track of time.

I made a stone axe, a cart, defeated three warriors, and felled five trees today…

Now I'm building a house, and I'm not even tired!

200 Endurance gives me incredible stamina.

I stepped back, realizing I'd built a magnificent two-story house.

Appraisal: Resistant to earthquakes, fire, and corrosion with various bonuses, such as "House has a nice smell," "House has a calming effect so you can rest easily."
