Chapter 83 - The Greatest Blessing

Congratulations, Onesco! Sincerely, Leopin

A blessing that filled the sky. It was met with earth-shaking shock.

"N-no..." Onesco froze, staring up. Eyes that had lost their life took the seven-colored reflection.

As if that shine had moved into her, light came back.

"No way! No, no, no! Amazing, amazing, amazing!"

Eyes that no longer knew dream from reality, full of joy. Onesco set the magic loudspeaker again and pointed at the sky.

"Everyone, look! That's him! He is the one who let me clear the holy knight trial! My prince on a white horse!"

The reporters below the stage aimed their magic cameras at the sky.

"I-incredible! I've never seen fireworks like this!"

"Even the world's biggest fireworks shows don't have anything this wild!"

"The one who made it is Leopin...? Never heard of him!"

"He has to be a seriously excellent Fireworker!"

"Tomorrow's front page is a double scoop! Onesco, the legendary holy knight, and Leopin, the legendary craftsman!"

The guests stared up, mouths open, as if their necks had locked.

"B-beautiful...! I've never seen fireworks this grand and this fine...!"

"Even the court fireworkers could not launch anything like this...!"

"Leopin...! Who is he...!?"

"Either way, he will surely become a craftsman who represents the world!"

"Right! The moment this goes public, we have to invest in him!"

The supporters were stunned. Then a "Wonderful...!" slipped out, and they came back to themselves.

All at once they turned a hard look on the principal and the vice principal. At eyes that felt ready to kill, the two shook.

"B-bald-fat, do something, zamasu! The fireworks were bald-fat's job, zamasu!"

"B-bald-fat!? You, to me, the principal...!"

"Just do something fast, zamasu! Or we're finished, zamasu!"

"Gh...!"

Veins up on his face, the principal looked around. Then it hit him, at the group waiting beside the orchestra. "Right, this!"

"Fireworkers! Move the schedule up and start the fireworks show! Ignore the program and make it a fireworks fight! Anyway, fire, fire, keep firing, and erase that hateful word Leopin!"

In this world there are fighting fireworks. Launch fireworks crash into each other, and the one left in the sky wins.

Yes. The counter the principal took was overwriting the fireworks.

"We have ten professional craftsmen! Fireworks launched by one unemployed nobody, they will erase like garbage!"

The fireworkers set small cannon-like tubes and fired together.

Sharp launch sounds, and countless balls of light went for the word Leopin.

Blasts like gunfire, and Leopin was riddled. The principal laughed high.

"Bahaha! Against my power, Leopin does not stand a chance! An excellent principal against a mere unemployed nobody, the match was decided!"

That laugh was shorter-lived than a sparkler, and scattered uglier than a bad firework.

"Wh-why won't it disappear!? Why, why is it still in the sky!?"

After that concentrated fire, the word Leopin still shone. The guests, fully turned into a fireworks audience, cheered.

"Incredible!? It even wins a fireworks fight!"

"That Leopin firework isn't just pretty and big. It's strong!"

"No way! Normally strength and beauty in fireworks run opposite!"

"And the other side is pros, ten of them!"

"Pro fireworks have to be at least level 10! Knocking back ten of those means that Leopin firework's level is..."

"A-a hundred!?"

"Impossible! There is no such thing as a level 100 firework! And a student making one is absolutely impossible!"

"B-bad! This is too bad! If it really is a level 100 firework, even the world champion of fighting fireworks would be treated like a child by Leopin!"

"A real monster just showed up! Now we have to get Leopin on camera no matter what!"

The students at the standing party had all ducked under the tables, as if a great earthquake had hit.

"L-lie, lie, lie, lie!"

"No way an unemployed piece of trash launched fireworks that fine!"

"He must have threatened a legendary fireworker into making them!"

"Yeah! Or we're just being shown a hallucination! With his drugs! And he threatened a legendary alchemist into making those drugs!"

"Anyway, don't look! You can't look! Pretend you didn't see it! Then we haven't lost! It doesn't count as losing to him!"

The hall was a mess. Cries of despair and joy crossed everywhere.

The girl who was the guest of honor had the party where she was the star torn apart. Far from angry, she hopped like a small child, delighted.

"Yes, yes, yes! H-his fireworks are the best! Thank you, my prince!"

Hearts scattered from her whole body and flew into the sky. They added one more color to the Leopin fireworks in full bloom.
