Chapter 1 - Awakening

Yeong-won's life was ordinary.

A small apartment, a humble table, and laughter that made every day feel complete.

"Honey, anything you want?" asked Choi Ji-hye, his mother, smiling as she placed another dish on the table.

"Nothing, Mom. This is more than enough," replied Park Yeong-won, he replied while looking at the table filled with dishes

"Eat up son you need to become strong like me" Park ji-ho (his father) said while flexing his muscleproudly

They were not that rich of a family but his parents still did everything they could for him to have a happy life

And.....suddenly....

Crash!

The sound of glass breaking disrupted the peace

"What the? Did someone tried to break into my house in my presence?" Park ji-ho said as he stood up

"Dad where are you going?" Yeong-won said with worries creeping up on him

"Nothing son, just eat up I will go check it and come back" He said

He disappeared down the hallway.

Minutes passed. The air grew heavy.

"Mom, Dad's still not back. I'll go check,"

Yeong-won said

As Yeong-won stood up from the chair his mother was still worried about what had happened but he comforted her that everything will be alright

As he entered the living room he found a grotesque, green-skinned goblin stood over his father's body.

"D-DAD!!!" Yeong-won shouted,

Yeong-won than picked up a tv remote that was on the table but since it was a remote,it barely made the goblin move.

The goblin turned. Its yellow eyes gleamed with malice as it lunged forward.

A flash of pain erupted in Yeong-won's stomach.

The blade sank deep. His breath caught. Blood poured down his shirt.

"Y-Yeong-won!"

His mother's voice echoed behind him. She rushed in—eyes wide, trembling—seeing her son's blood-soaked figure.

"Get away from him!" she screamed, swinging a chair.

Before Yeong could speak the goblin moved first.

Its dagger slashed across her throat.

She fell beside her son, her hands pressed to the wound that couldn't stop bleeding. Her eyes met his for a moment—filled with sorrow and fear—before dimming completely.

"Mom…" Yeong-won gasped, reaching for her, but his arm dropped uselessly.

The goblin grinned, stepping on his chest.

Its dagger gleamed above him—ready to end it all.

As the goblin was about to kill him

Time stopped!

REGRESSION - 1

The scene regressed back to when they were eating

"Honey do you need anything?" Choi ji-hye said

"..." Yeong-won didn't say anything but tears came bursting out of his eye

"Honey, what's wrong? You have tears in your eye. Is the food not good enough? Sorry we couldn't provide you anything better..." She said out of guilt for not being able to provide the right food that his son wanted

Yeong-won thought that he just doze off a little and had a bad dream so He quickly wiped his tears and replied

"No, nothing mom, this is more than enough, you two are my treasure nothing less than that"

Than before his parents could react the same sound could be heard again *crash*

That single sound sent shivers down Yeong-won spine, making him realize that it was no dream and it was actually real

"What the? Did someone tried to break into my house in my presence?"

The same line was repeated again by his dad

But this time Yeong-won knew what would happen and he wanted to prevent it from happening again, but his body wouldn't budge nor could he say anything even if he wanted to

Than his dad went into the living room and the same situation happened again

"DAD!!!" He again shouted the same cry for help he had shouted the previous time but before his mother could come out he got killed right away, as he didn't threw a remote to disturb the goblin thought process like the previous time

REGRESSION - 2 TO 4

The nightmare repeated.

Each time, he tried something new—blocking the hallway, shouting warnings, hiding with his mother.

But the goblin always found them.

No matter what he did, his father always died first.

His mother followed soon after.

And Yeong-won always ended up on the floor—bleeding, broken, and helpless.

Over and over again.

Each regression stripped away another piece of his sanity.

Until the fifth.

The scene again regressed back to when they were having dinner

"Honey,anything you want?"

Yeong-won thought *"no no no no no... It happened again, I couldn't do anything "*

"Honey what's wrong? You look stressed"

Then again the same sound *crash* could be heard again but this time he didn't get scared

"What the? Someone....*

Before his father could stand, Yeong-won grabbed a kitchen knife and ran toward the sound.

"Yeong-won, wait—!"

His mother's voice faded behind him.

The goblin appeared—and Yeong-won lunged.

"DIE!!"

But fury alone wasn't enough.

The goblin dodged and impaled him through the chest.

As he collapsed, his mother's voice echoed again—her last scream haunting him.

And then

REGRESSION - 6

The scene regressed back to when they were having dinner

"Honey, do you need anything?"

But this time due to his new skill he could think straight again and he got up

"Mom, I need to go to the bathroom" Yeong-won said as he left the dinning room

*"I need to prepare"*

In the bathroom, he wrapped a towel around his hand and shattered the mirror.

Glass shards scattered across the floor, glinting under the light.

He collected the largest pieces and hid them under his sleeve.

"I won't let it happen again."

Minutes later, faint scratching came from the balcony.

The goblin was climbing up.

When its head appeared, Yeong-won hurled the shards, slicing its face open.

The creature shrieked, blinded, as he rushed forward and drove a shard straight into one eye, then the other.

It stumbled back, screaming—

—and fell off the balcony.

Thud!

the sound of the goblin falling to his dead was satisfying

Crack!

The air trembled. The sky itself split open, bleeding light.

From those cracks, goblins began pouring out—hundreds of them.

Screeching, snarling, climbing down the sides of buildings like insects.

Yeong-won stepped onto the balcony, his hands still stained with blood.

Below, the city descended into chaos.

Screams filled the air, mingling with the sound of breaking glass and collapsing metal.

He stared at the nightmare unfolding before him and murmured under his breath,

".....F**k,this just got a whole lot more complicated" Yeong-won murmured

The night sky glowed with an eerie beauty, and amid that crimson light

A D - rank dungeon break has occurred
