Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Finally, we're done with high school!"

A girl in her teens with blue eyes, short brown hair, and wearing a simple short white gown said with a bright smile.

Tasha, her twin sister, looked at her in confusion.

"Tracy, what's there to be happy about? It's not like we're going to college or the university immediately."

Still smiling, Tracy burst into laughter.

"Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to! But who said we aren't going to the university right away? Wait—Mom didn't tell you? Tasha, I don't get it. Mom didn't tell you or…?"

"I don't understand you. What is it that Mom didn't tell me? Stop looking at me like that, Tracy—you're making me scared. What's it?" Tasha asked, staring at her sister, who now looked just as confused as she was.

Tracy frowned slightly. "I don't get why Mom didn't tell you about the scholarship."

Two Days Ago

"Err… I didn't think this through. So what you're trying to say, Mom, is that the girls will follow you to Country S to study?"

A woman in her early thirties, Miss Alex, said as she raised her voice at her mother.

With a calm tone, Alex's mother — a woman in her early fifties — replied,

"Do you want your girls to suffer the same fate as you? You want to send them to Country A for what reason? Tell me. And when the girls ask how you're related to the Brown household, what will you tell them? Will you laugh and say it's nothing? In fact, it's high time the girls knew the truth."

Alex, looking confused and frustrated, replied,

"You can't be serious, Mother—"

Before she could finish, Tracy walked in.

"Mom, what truth?" she asked curiously.

Alex's mother immediately smiled.

"Oh, my dearest! Look at how pretty you are. Your mom and I were just discussing whether you and your sister will follow me to Country S."

Tracy turned to her mom and asked seriously,

"Mom, did we pass the scholarship?"

Alex's mother, looking all confused, pinched Alex under the table.

Alex ignored her and smiled at Tracy.

"Yes, my darling, you both passed. So, you and Tasha should get ready. In a month, you'll follow Grandma."

"Yes! I'm so happy—finally, we're going to Country S!" Tracy said, leaving the kitchen with excitement.

"Aigoo, Alex, you never cease to surprise me," her mother said angrily. "You'd better tell those girls the truth, or I will."

She left the kitchen, frowning.

POV: Miss Alex

Goodness… what am I doing to my children?

How did they grow up so fast?

She sighed deeply.

How do I tell them that I'm the owner of G-One Enterprises—including the one in Country S? I just don't listen, do I?

I think… I'll tell them when the time is right.
