Chapter 9 - Finding a place to stay

That kick was quite harsh.

I could hear a crackling sound from my foot, and the joint area was throbbing with pain.

James squatted down directly, clutching his lower body and rolling on the ground.

Upon seeing his precious son in such agony, Aria couldn't hold back anymore and began to pull down his son's pants.

Gosh, what an eyesore!

A chill ran down my spine.

I took advantage of their moment of distraction to run off.

At this time, I could no longer care about my mother or my home.

James and his mother are both twisted, capable of all sort of craziness for their own ends.

If I don't leave, I don't know what kind of terrifying future awaits me.

I didn't dare return to Sarah after leaving James's.

Since my mother could find me there once, she is capable of doing so a second time.

If she brings Aria and his son along, I'd bring trouble to Sarah.

I went to a hotel and had Sarah secretly bring me my luggage.

Then, I started to look for an apartment and a job online.

I didn't have much in savings - definitely not enough for me to survive for long.

I must find a way to earn money quickly, or else I'll be broke.

I used an agent for the apartment hunt and sent out several resumes for job applications.

Satisfied, I lay on my bed and enjoyed a good night's sleep.

Early the next morning, the agent contacted me, saying he had some properties for me to see.

After viewing several places, I finally found a place that was good value for money.

After signing the contract and paying the agent fee and half a year's rent, I only had a little over a thousand dollars left in my bag.

If I can't find a job this month, I'm going to be eating dirt next month.

Luckily, I have a decent education and my grades were good at university, so I quickly found a job.

Also, it's in my preferred field of Interior Design.

Now that I've left that jerk, it's only right that I do what I love.

I've also hired a lawyer to handle my divorce with James.

But thinking about having to pay back the 1.8 million together, I feel a headache coming on.

However, getting a divorce might not be as easy as I thought.

"Your divorce case may not be easy to win.

To substantiate claims of domestic violence, you need solid evidence.

As of now, you not only lack evidence but also witnesses.

Apart from your own accusations of domestic violence, no one is willing to take your side."

The lawyer's words sent a chill through my heart.

He's right.

Even my parents are supporting James.

Who else can I rely on?

"However, you might want to think about other justifications for the divorce, like adultery.

This would definitely help your case during judgement."

 Adultery?

While James is a scumbag, he hasn't committed adultery.

The one who committed adultery in this relationship is me.

Now I'm in a difficult situation.

I called Sarah to break the horrible news to her.

The moment she heard it, she blew her top.

"Ella, are you dumb?

There are no cats in this world that do not crave fish!

If he doesn't cheat, then create an environment where he does!"

What you're saying... makes so much sense!

Sarah's thinking process is always so unique, and moreover, she is older.

She acted on it that very night.

But I'm a bit worried, would a man like James, who suffers from erectile dysfunction, really fall for this kind of trap?

So far, I haven't informed Sandra about James's issue.

I even dare not let her know, that for the past six months, I've been living a life devoid of a man's affection.

Sandra and I were hiding on the second floor of a peculiar place, and from the window, we saw James getting pulled upstairs by another woman

. Damn, he himself can't perform but still craves for women!

James and the lady went up to a room just opposite us.

The lady was bribed in advance, and would signal us at a crucial time, so that we could burst in.

The lighting and photographer were all ready, now we just waited for her signal.

"Ahh!"

The lady across moaned in ecstasy.

Sarah and I exchanged a glance and barged into the room across.
