09:33 cycle eight, Ba'seth, of calendar Moonrachia
We... or should I say I'm with Millenia? Already started the history class.
The classroom is filled with students, where some of them are listening to Millenia's explanation of history. Given this is just the start of the semester, they are still learning the basic history.
Though you could see some noble students don't really pay attention much.
I mean, they definitely already learn this when they're still little through a private teacher, right?
Arnentiasis, or should I say the kingdom itself? The nobles? Whatever, they're not discriminating against the commoner, you could say that almost half the students in this school are commoners.
One of the reasons why there are a lot of commoners here is that once you're accepted, you wouldn't need to pay for the tuition...
Honestly, it's like Aronn wasn't the first one who transmigrated into this world... or perhaps I just underestimated human intelligence.
Millenia explaining, there was once an era before the Moonrachia were used to label a year's cycle, the world was one big continent, not separated like today, and it was ruled only by one kingdom.
Arc'viel Kingdom, the oldest kingdom that has been recorded, the fact that they ruled the whole continent alone is self-explanatory, and how strong they are.
That era is known as the demigod era, it's where the human, elf, dwarf, and any other race blood is still filled with rich golden blood, it's not as 'golden' as its name, but rather where their blood is still pure.
It's like how Abel and Cain's blood is still pure because they're the first descendants of the first human, so their blood in that era isn't that faded from its original root.
So the power in that era and the current world is just too different in the gap.
The demigod era is when angels could still descend into our world, where the monsters were far more disgusting and overpowered.
It's where something like Leviathan existed...
There isn't any record for how long the demigod era or the Arc'viel Kingdom existed, but one thing is for sure: the end of that era is when the one single big continent is separated, just like now...
With just like that, the history class is already reaching its end.
As for me, I am still assisting Millenia, holding the class attendance and such...
Instead of walking toward the teacher's office, somehow we're walking in the opposite direction...
The reason is because of my mana circuit...
She was mentioning something like, I used some magic spell beyond my class, or I was cursed, Honestly, it's like I was both of them...
The weird ability I had is probably using too much of my mana? Or was the circuit overheated when I received my memory? Or when I get those weird abilities?
There's too much possibility...
I'm scared and anxious. What happens when she knows I was a transmigator or even reincarnation? Would she lock me up and do some insane experiment on me?
The thought alone sends a shiver down my spine...
She's a Horn level magician, there's no way I could run away...
And I'm still Sigil level...
The power level is separated by 5, the first is Petals, it's the basic level power where someone using their mana, some petals of a leaf or flower could be seen.
The second is Sigil marks, where someone used their mana, a strange sigil could be seen on their body, and the sigil would be unique to each individual.
The third is vein, their vein would glow based on their affinity, blue water, red fire, etc.
The fourth is a Horn, they would grow a horn. A horn unique to each individual.
And the last is Halo level, a certain halo could be seen manifested above their head. That manifested differently and uniquely for each person.
Before I knew, we had already reached the front door of her personal office...
If I bite my own tongue, which one of us would die?
I could feel a cold sweat fall down my back shoulder.
The sounds of unlocking the door already set my own fate...
...
Entering the room, there isn't any weird equipment that someone usually uses for an experiment, but I couldn't help but be on guard.
The room is pretty big, but because so many bookcases were filled, the room itself feels pretty small.
"Take a seat." While she takes the today archive and puts it on the bookshelf.
Then I just sat on the nearest chair I could find.
After a while, she sat across from me.
"Do you know the reason behind your eroded magic circuit? As a Magictology student, you should know how dangerous your situation is," she stared at me with her emotionless face, yet her voice was calming.
"Yes... ma'm, the more eroded the circuit, the body will reach its limit trying to maintain them off, and slowly the body would shut off..."
"Because-" she then cut me off.
"Because the body itself alone couldn't fix the eroded circuit," she said calmly, yet it felt like a declaration that I would definitely die.
"Given your record in this academy, you wouldn't do something as stupid as using forbidden magic, or some magic that is beyond your capability."
"So tell me then, why is it happening?" Her gaze feels like it could pierce even heaven itself.
I don't even know how to answer it. I don't think telling her my ability is the best choice itself, so what should I say then?
Given her personality and background... I'm pretty sure a lie detector skill's already activated...
"I..."
"I don't know..."
I think I knew the reason why Noah chose her, that's why I feel he was scheming something behind my back yesterday...
There's no way a Halo-level magician wouldn't realize my situation...
She is still gazing upon me, as if she doesn't believe it, but it's the truth, I don't even know it's happening.
"Your mana circuit is pretty much broken, not that 'bad', but pretty sure it would turn that way in a few months."
Is she a doctor? A teacher? A researcher? A magic tower personnel? At this point, I don't even know.
It's like she's introgazing me, but also doesn't, it's like she plays some weird psychological things.
"You know how to fix them, right?" She turned away and looked at the window, seeing the outside scenery.
"Yes... It's by either using the holy magic recovery service at the cathedral or using elixir..."
Which one of them costs an insane amount of money... and I don't even have enough money for a week's worth of food...
"And I'm pretty sure you don't have much money left," as she glanced at me.
It's not a question, but rather a matter-of-fact statement.
Do I look that poor?
"Work under me, and I will help treat your condition," she turned to face me.
Again, it's not an offer, but a bait...
She surely knew human psychology, huh...
Fuck, I don't have much of an option left but to accept it. Honestly, I'm curious, could my condition kill me?
But then I'm not Aronn.
As a matter of fact, I don't care which one of me is the real one.
Just for now, it is wrong for me to live my life... not as for Kaleth and Aronn's sake, but for my own?
"Isn't I already working as your assistant...?" I mean, what does she even need me for? I'm not a History graduate student, so it won't benefit her.
With a heavy sigh, she answered me, as if I'm fucking dumbass, "Working under me and working as my assistant is two different things, are you being for real right now?"
Honestly, I couldn't be mad at her. If I were in her place, I would call them dumb if they couldn't understand that.
It's not like I was dumb, but I couldn't think straight, hence I don't understand her properly. I'm anxious if she realized my weird ability.
I'm not that fucking dumb, alright?
"So... what kind of job is that?"
"After we finished the class, just do whatever I tell you and follow me closely, that's it."
That sounds so suspicious. If she isn't that beautiful, I would vomit myself out already.
"Would-" she cut me off again...
"I wouldn't ask anything impossible, or beyond personal space."
Is she capable of reading someone's mind? That's so scary...
"You would work after the class ends until 21:00"
"How about the pay?"
"Do I look that poor to you?" Seeing her eyes twitching a bit, is she mad...?
I probably shouldn't ask many questions now...
"You will start working today, after lunch time, come back to this office again."
'Will' huh... not 'could'... am I slaves...?

10:11 cycle eight, Ba'seth, of calendar Moonrachia
There's still like 1 hour left before lunch time, the hallway is pretty much deserted, but I could see a Teacher teaching at the academy grounds, and 2 worth classes of students.
And after a few minutes of walking, I could see a cafeteria in its busy time, preparing for lunchtime.
But none of it bothers me. I need to go to the library again. I've finally got my ID, now I can borrow the last few books of history I needed.
Entering the library again, I could help but be mesmerized by it, the library should be labeled as a Grand Library, instead of just a library.
Seeing how big this building is just makes me wonder how many books they had.
I tried to recall the previous location of a few book I needed, which is 'The history of Arnentia kingdom', 'The basic history', and such.
The last book should be around this corner...
After getting everything I needed, I noticed Saya... the previous one I bumped up with, from the Talia family...
It seems she's really reading advanced material in Magictology.
It's actually kind of bothering me. Should I ask her or not? But everyone has their own secret.
If Aronn were in my place, he wouldn't bother even seeing her...
If it's Kaleth, he will ask her or even help her out as her senior...
What should I do? Yeah, right, do what I think is the correct one. I'm neither Aronn nor Kaleth, I shouldn't let their memory overshadow me.
I've decided to live for myself.
For now, my dream is to become a teacher.
What would they do if they saw their own student in trouble?
Right, helping them out.
I could feel my body lighter, and my breath easier.
I'll find my true identity, if I can't, then I should carve one for myself.
For now, let both of their memory become my stepping stone. I feel bad for both of them, but I should've said this from the beginning.
Thanks to both of you.
For now, watch me closely, and I'll show you what I could become.
With a gentle smile, I asked her.
"Are you troubled by Magictology materials?"
"I'm sorry for the sudden appearance. I'm the previous generation of Magictology major, I'm currently working as Miss Millenia's assistant."
...
A few seconds of silence have passed.
It feels awkward.
"Ummm, I know... you're senior Kaleth..." She looked away.
Ah, I see... a timid type, huh...
A few silences have passed... again...
"If.. If... I could trouble you, may you help me understand this part of the pages...?"
A good-mannered one even...
"Sure thing"
