My name is max McKnight and I'm basically no one special I'm just a guy who's stuck in another world.
Oh yeah no I'm not joking I'm literally in another world or universe or whatever the hell.
And how I got here you may ask.
Well I've been investigating a case of people going missing and when I found the bastard I was ready to finish him off but he pulled a fast one on me.
At first I thought he can send me in other parts of the world like Japan which is were am in right now.
Except that I'm in a place called towa city and i don't much about the areas in Japan aside from Tokyo but I know that there's no place called towa city.
And I beat up some muggers who ranted about despair or whatever and stole on of their phones and I looked up the latest news.
And on it was the world supposedly destroyed by people wearing a black and white bear mask with a red eye wrecking the world but towa city looks like to suffer less damage.
Also apparently some girl named junko caused all of this because the guy's phone had comments of despair,despair and despair with a cherry on top.
These lunatics are like cults but this is a worst case.
I also found out that junko apparently died a few months ago and she was playing a death game with students who attended hopes speak academy where she attended and she basically trapped the students into a death game were if one killed another they have to be in a trail and if the killer is found out they alone die but if the innocents guessed wrong then they all die and the killer goes free.
But considering the result it was an empty promise. And not only that but there was only 6 survivors.
And apparently after junko's death the future foundation was fixing the problems that junko's followers made.
But he guess that they were having some problems with that.
Max himself could help them but he honestly doesn't give too shits.
This wasn't his world and he wasn't obligated to save it from the people who made the mess in the first place.
And another thing he wasn't a hero nor a saint.
He wasn't gonna save random someone because he's some noble hero the only time he will do that it's when that person is related to a friend of his or someone he knows them like a friendly enough or like mako he was a member of Sonia's gang and Sonia was nice and so were her crew so he helped mako because he was a friend of Sonia and he was an good guy.
But if it's some random person he's never seen before or it has nothing to do with him he won't interfere.
There only a time that he saves people and that's only the ones he knows and considers friends and family.
He follows the ideals of you don't stab me in the back I won't stab you in the back.
And the one thing he considered important for people to understand one another is mutual respect.
So the fact that these idiots fighting for a stupid reason like despair or hope is ridiculous and stupid.
To him hope we're just concepts,worlds nothing special and the fact that people were taking it to a whole new level was honestly a bit of a brain rot.
When he done doing his research he put down the mad follower and went on his Mary way.
3 days have passed and nothing has changed towa city was the same and he didn't see anything change.
Currently max was on a rooftop watching the city below with an uninterested eye.
He was basically homeless and he had to steal from other criminals to get money or yen in this country's economy.
And he was just eating instant noodles that were meat flavored.
White particles appeared beside him and a girl with snake features appeared and she also looked down uninterested.
Moline: it's been 3 days and we still haven't found anything on how to get back.
Max sipped on his noodles and spoke.
Max: your telling me. I would have broken into a science facility but honestly these people don't even look like they developed any dimensional travel but apparently they made something called an air purifier that's popular but honestly that nothing special.
Moline: so what do we do? We have no way to go back and these people haven't developed any dimensional traveling method. So are we just stuck here.
Max: like hell we are. If life taught me something it's that once in a while it throws you a curveball and-
Before he could continue he suddenly heard screaming and the pair looked down and saw the black and white bears that were named monokumas coming out of the sewers and started killing people.
Max and moline watched the carnage and moline gave max a stink eye.
Moline: a curved ball huh?
Max: oh come on you can't blame that on me it probably would have happened even without me saying it.
He finished his noodles and he threw them away and just as he got up he saw two monokumas climbing up the building he was on top of.
Max: great now I have to deal with these things.
The monokumas got out their claws and they were ready to charge at max but he was faster.
In a black blur both of the monokumas were beheaded by max with his bare hands.
He threw the heads away and unknowingly to him one of the he threw landed on a monokuma who was about to kill a girl in a school uniform.
And she looked at she thought she thought the shot came from but she only managed to see a glimpse of max.
Back to max he dusted off his hands but another monokuma came and tried to stab him.
But before it or max could do anything max moved his head to the side and a red energy ball hit the monokuma exploding.
Max looked back at moline who was using the back of her hand to clean her mouth.
Max: are you trying to kill me!?
Moline: calm down will you? Beside that was a weak blast you would have taken it no problem.
Max: that doesn't mean you can shoot me with your damn energy blasts.
Moline: oh please you would have been fine besides don't you remember that you can absorb energy?
Max: yes I'm aware but still-
Before they could continue arguing a nearby electric board lit up and what player was an announcement with the speaker being I shit you not kids actual kids.
3 males and 2 females
One of the girls had green hair and something about her eyes gave him a chill down his spine.
They announced that towa city was theirs and they are making a paradise for kids alone.
So that meant that they were behind the monokuma attack and they were targeting adults and teens specifically.
Moline looked at her brother with a questioning look.
Moline: I think this is less of a curved ball and more like a meteorite.
Max: tell me about it I wanted something to happen but this wasn't what came to mind.
Moline: should we help or.
Max: nah we're not obliged to do so if it was in our world it would be different but nothing bad is gonna happen if these people die.
Moline looked at the massacre and she agreed with him.
She sensed the souls of people but they weren't as potent as the soul system in their own world.
Moline: I guess you're right.
Before they could move monokumas surrounded them and max and moline were getting annoyed with these bears.
Max: get the hell out of our way!
Two days have passed and max and moline were on a tall hotel building were lucky no monokumas could climb up.
Max was looking at his revolver and on his other hands were 3 special bullets.
Normally he would have 6 rounds enough to fill his magazine on his gun but he waisted most of them during the fight with the clown and he only has 3 left.
Max wasn't craftsmen and he knew how to manage his revolver but he has no idea how to make these special bullets.
Of course the one positive thing about his gun is that it doesn't really need bullets to work but with his bullets his gun becomes more lethal and normal non bullet shots don't do much.
Mind you yes they are dangerous but not enough against a stronger opponent.
Max: fuck if only I wasn't careless I wouldn't be stuck in damn chaotic world.
However before he could complain more he felt a sudden spike of spiritual energy and he got up instantly and recognize it.
Max: son of a bitch. there's no way.
He dashed out of hotel rooftop and dashed to were he felt the energy spike.
When he got there he saw a portal the same one that sent him here.
He couldn't believe it he finally had a way out.
He was about to walk through but before he could get in a body was throwed at him and he was too caught off guard by it and before he could get up and get into the portal he unfortunately didn't make it
A silent moment passed and max's right eye was twitching like mad but he first breathed in but right after taking a breath he exploded.
DAMN IT!!!!!
His shout let out a sonic boom and thanks to his vocal cords being unintentionally enhanced by spiritual energy he also shattered windows and caused a few rocks and rubble were pushed away by his shout.
After letting his fury and pent up anger he took a breath and this time he used it to calm down.
But he then remembered that someone was thrown at him and he looked back and saw that it was a girl.
He got on one knee and examined the girl who was unconscious.
She had pale skin, blonde with two twin tails with each one being red and blue.
She wore a worn down looking shirt that was black and red while also wearing wore down pants but he noticed gun holster on her belt and a minor detail she was wearing a black choker
The only wear that wasn't wore out was her shoes.
But those aside he noticed a wound on her forehead and he was about to heal it but he saw the it started healing by itself which was odd because he doesn't sense any spiritual energy on her.
He didn't get to finish because he suddenly felt danger and he turned and saw a hoard of monokumas coming at him.
Max was in the mood to deal with these damn bears and he was planning to eliminate them in one go.
Max: moline get the girl out of here.
Moline appeared next to the girl and put her in a piggy back ride position.
Moline: do me a favor and don't use too much power.
Max: I'll only use enough to wipe these bears out.
Moline just shrugged and floated a few meters away from max to not get caught in the blast.
Max saw a pipe on the ground and he used his foot to launch it into the air and he grabbed it.
He saw the hoard of monokumas coming at him and he imbued the pipe with his spiritual energy and gave it a test swing that caused some energy to leak into the air but that was a sign of he can with this.
He put the pipe above his head and he charged and compressed his spiritual energy into it.
When the hoard were getting too close he charged enough and he swung the pipe down with all the pent up emotions he's been holding back.
Go to hell!!
When he fully swung energy exploded everywhere and everyone monokuma was caught in the blast zone and from an outside view a small explosion cloud appeared and it was the equivalent of gas station explosion.
When the smoke cleared max had the pipe down in the ground. well remnants of the pipe because when looked at the pipe he saw that the top was completely melted.
He guessed the energy exploding melted it. He just threw it away now that the bears were delt with he ran towards were moline was.
When he got there he saw moline waiting for him.
Max: enjoyed the fireworks?
Moline: yeah you made it look like a gas station explosion. Good work if anyone noticed they would think someone just triggered an explosion.
Max picked up the girl in a piggy back ride on his back.
But when max touched her he felt a sudden flux of energy but as soon as it came it vanished.
He shrugged it off as an after effect of not using his energy in 5 days.
Him and moline went back to the hotel building and max waited for her to wake up.
