Chapter 115 - Chapter 112: Entering Reincarnation—A Main God That Gives No Quarter

Chapter 112: Entering Reincarnation—A Main God That Gives No Quarter

In the Main God Plaza, all the members of Team China, along with their Robots, were holding a "farewell ceremony."

Although Ren Arakawa had repeatedly reminded them that Robots were the most cost-effective combat power for a New Reincarnator, offering the strength of a peak human for free, the assembled group, already filled with regrets, still had the Main God generate the figures from their memories.

For example, Zheng Zha's childhood sweetheart from when he was fourteen—Lori.

Or Zhang Jie's wife.

Beneath the ball of light, Lori, in Zheng Zha's arms, blinked her eyes. "You have to come back, okay?"

Zheng Zha gave Lori a light kiss on the forehead. "I definitely will!"

During the last movie, *A Nightmare on Elm Street*, Zheng Zha had, for the most part, already been on the verge of giving up the will to live.

This terrifying Reincarnation Space, which devoured people whole, was something the corporate drone Zheng Zha couldn't fully adapt to in such a short time. On the rooftop, he had been half-heartedly accepting of his fate, ready to die.

But unexpectedly, he had survived by a fluke and even saw the Lori from his memories here, giving him the motivation to live on.

"Everyone."

Ren Arakawa walked toward the group. "I have not yet received a notification from the Main God granting me captain's privileges, so I can't check what type of horror movie is next. But I estimate..."

He tried to keep his tone as relaxed as possible, then paused before saying, "It's very likely a Team Battle."

"What's a Team Battle?"

Zhan Lan was the first to ask in confusion.

"A Team... a Team Battle..."

Zhang Jie, who had already experienced a Team Battle once, stared blankly.

In the *Alien* world, the sight of that figure flying on a sword remained Zhang Jie's nightmare to this day.

If it weren't for Ren Arakawa's calculations and the arrogance of the Devil Team, Zhang Jie had no doubt he would have been turned into reward points before ever seeing his wife's face again.

Xiaoye Hui collapsed onto the ground. Beside her, the clumsy Robot Kabutack wiped away her tears. "What's wrong, Xiaoye Hui? Kabutack is here! I'll help you defeat all the bad guys!"

Xiaoye Hui pushed Kabutack away. "You know nothing! A Team Battle... I never want to experience a Team Battle again! Please, please don't let it be a Team Battle!"

Seeing the Veterans' reactions, Zheng Zha also realized the difficulty of a Team Battle. He tightened his grip on Lori.

"Wait, wait a minute!" Zhang Jie suddenly realized something. "Ren Arakawa, you said before that the basic condition to trigger a Team Battle is three Gene Locks. Has, has one of us unlocked the Gene Lock again?"

Zhang Jie hurriedly looked at his two old teammates. "Xiaoye, Xiaoye Hui? Nuowa?"

The two women shook their heads one after another. Zhang Jie's shock turned to joy. "Hah! Ren Arakawa! Why are you trying to scare us?!"

However, Ren Arakawa's expression remained unchanged. Zhang Jie's smile froze. He glanced around and noticed that Zhao Yingkong, who was standing with her arms crossed, had a strange look on her face.

Zhang Jie understood what was happening. His expression hardened, and he pulled his wife into a tight hug, his body trembling slightly.

Ren Arakawa sighed. "Before Zhao Yingkong came to the Main God Space, she was already a top-tier expert from the Assassin World. She came with the Gene Lock already unlocked. Even though Da Qiang has been dealt with by me... with me, you, and her, three Gene Locks unlocked. The condition for a Team Battle has still been met."

Hearing this, Xiaoye Hui grabbed the nearby Kimura Takuya and burst into tears. The clumsy Kabutack scurried around anxiously, not knowing what to do.

"Alright, stop crying," Ren Arakawa interrupted Xiaoye Hui's wailing. "I have no idea what our team's rating is with the Main God, and whether the seeds planted by the Farming Team have been completely uprooted is also unknown."

"Da Qiang is dead. Maybe the next horror movie is a reward-type mission? After all, thirteen of our teammates died in the last movie. The Main God can't possibly hate Team China so much that it would increase the difficulty again."

Seeing the color return slightly to everyone's faces, Ren Arakawa forced a smile. But the moment he turned his head, his face instantly darkened as he walked toward his room.

The rest time passed quickly. Ren Arakawa pushed open his door. In the Main God Plaza, everyone had gathered to say their final goodbyes.

A short while later, the Main God's emotionless voice echoed in everyone's ears.

[Teleportation in thirty seconds.]

[Target: *Scream 2*.]

Hearing the name of the next horror movie, Zhang Jie was the first to wave his arms and shout excitedly, "This is great!"

Zhan Lan's expression also relaxed in an instant, and she patted her chest with a sigh of relief.

Xiaoye Hui hadn't seen the *Scream* series and quickly asked, "What, what is it?"

Zhang Jie explained with glee, " *Scream* isn't like *A Nightmare on Elm Street*, with an immortal demon like Freddy Krueger killing people throughout the entire series."

"This movie is a suspense film, the kind that explores human nature!"

"This is great! This is great!"

Zhang Jie said confidently, "The person under the Ghostface Mask is just an ordinary human. We might not even need Ren Arakawa to act. Just Zhao Yingkong alone would be enough for us to survive!"

"Ah! Is that so? Wuwuwu, we've survived..." Xiaoye Hui hugged Kimura Takuya. "We'll see each other again soon, darling!"

Seeing everyone's reaction, Ren Arakawa really didn't want to be a wet blanket.

After all, there were only about ten seconds left before teleportation.

Let them cherish this moment for a little longer.

A flash of white light passed.

The crisp sound of a school bell rang in Ren Arakawa's ears.

He slowly opened his eyes. His vision was still a bit blurry. Once he gradually adjusted, he began to quickly scan his surroundings.

He was in a classroom.

The other members of Team China were still asleep, slumped over their desks or leaning against their chairs in disarray.

Ren Arakawa quickly stood up and began to count. His gaze swept over each person as he silently tallied them in his mind. After confirming everyone was present, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

This time, there were only five Newcomers. Including the original members of Team China, there were thirteen people in total.

Although a situation like this was still fraught with danger, at least it wasn't the maximum-difficulty scenario with twenty people.

Thinking of this, Ren Arakawa's tense mood eased somewhat.

A moment later, Zhao Yingkong also woke up. Upon seeing the number of people, she too showed a rare expression of relief.

The face of the reincarnation watch still displayed a jumble of garbled code. Ren Arakawa walked to the window to observe the students coming and going on campus. He felt like everyone looked like Ghostface; he suspected anyone could be the culprit.

Zhao Yingkong followed him. "What do you think this Mission will be? With our strength, catching the killer shouldn't be too hard, right?"

Ren Arakawa gave a bitter smile. "You're still too young, you've experienced too little."

Zhao Yingkong snorted. "Hmph, and you're an old man." She then sat down on a nearby chair and waited silently for everyone to wake up.

Zhang Jie, who had unlocked his Gene Lock, woke up next, followed by Nuowa, Zheng Zha, and the others.

Upon seeing that there were only five Newcomers, everyone showed expressions of relief.

After a little while, the five Newcomers also woke up one by one.

"Holy crap! Is that Kabutack?!"

A young man with yellow hair pointed at the walking Kabutack beside Xiaoye Hui and yelled, even stepping forward to try and touch it.

*Bang!* With a single gunshot, the yellow-haired man's hand froze in mid-air. He looked at Xiaoye Hui, who had fired a shot at the ceiling.

"You! How do you have a gun?!"

A young woman in high heels finally reacted.

"Ah!" A scream made the other Newcomers realize that something was very wrong.

"Alright, that's enough." Ren Arakawa's blood-red eyes quieted the Newcomers. "Zhan Lan, you're up."

Zhan Lan nodded. "This is the Reincarnation Space. The horror movie we're currently in is..."

After a round of explanations, Zhan Lan received a hundred reward points with great satisfaction, looking at Ren Arakawa with a grateful gaze.

Among the Newcomers, besides the wannabe gangster Blond Fat Pig, there was an unemployed young woman in high heels named You Lingshuang; a beer-bellied man named Bao Yong, wearing a safety helmet and seemingly working in construction; a male student who called himself Li Shuaixi; and an ordinary-looking Glasses Man.

The Glasses Man adjusted his frames and stood up, his body trembling. Seeing this, Zheng Zha walked over and extended a friendly hand. "I'm Zheng Zha. Welcome to our team. How about you introduce yourself?"

The Glasses Man seemed to have some social anxiety. He shook Zheng Zha's hand briefly before pulling back. "I, I'm just an old nerd. My name is Chu Xuan."

*Crash!*

At the front of the classroom, glass shattered all over the floor. Everyone stared dumbfounded at Ren Arakawa, who had just shattered the window with a single punch.

Ren Arakawa turned his head. "It's nothing. I just thought this glass didn't look very sturdy. It felt a bit drafty. It shattered with one touch. The installation really was shoddy."

He pointed at the broken glass, his words laced with hidden meaning, "You tell me, the craftsman who installed this glass... where the hell is he."
