Chapter 297 - chapter 207 part 2

chapter 207 part 2

Truly, there were more gun stores than schools.

Leon nodded without hesitation. "I'll go with you."

Just then, Ren Arakawa, who had been silent all this time as the leader of Team China, suddenly spoke. "Ada Wong and I, along with two more from our team, will be enough. You all guard the base. It's not good to have too many people going outside; if there are too many, the Red Queen will target us, and that will be even more troublesome."

Although Alice didn't understand why this mysterious person knew about the Red Queen, she still raised a question. "With just the four of you, how many bullets can you carry?"

Ren Arakawa smiled slightly and unhurriedly beckoned to Zheng Zha.

Zheng Zha understood immediately, stepped forward, and touched the storage ring he wore on his hand.

In an instant, a dazzling golden light flashed. A large pile of gold bars appeared out of thin air before everyone, appearing exceptionally striking in the dim warehouse.

"This... What's going on?" Leon's eyes widened, his face filled with astonishment, and he almost lost his footing.

Before Leon, who was playfully nicknamed "Leon the Loot-all" by gamers, could react further, Zheng Zha gently waved his hand again. The gold bars instantly vanished, returning to the storage ring.

Everyone uttered sounds of wonder and amazement, their faces filled with shock and awe.

"This world is truly insane!" Ada Wong couldn't help but mutter to herself.

Ren Arakawa explained with a smile, "This mysterious ring from the East can store items. When we go search for ammunition, with its help, transportation won't be an issue."

After hearing this, much of the doubt in everyone's hearts immediately dissipated.

"Zheng Zha, bring out my defensive armor."

Zheng Zha didn't hesitate and took out the armor that Ren Arakawa had exchanged for Lori, which had saved her life countless times.

Weighing the heavy armor, Ren Arakawa looked at Ashley, the president's daughter, who was silently working.

Just like in Resident Evil 4, for this mission to protect the stronghold, Ashley's survival was equally important. Ren Arakawa handed over the armor, his eyes holding an unrefusable authority. "Wear this."

If Ren Arakawa had handed her a maid's uniform, Ashley might have hesitated.

But since he handed her a set of armor that was incredibly lightweight yet appeared very sturdy, Ashley quickly nodded in thanks. "Okay!"

After making arrangements for the most important NPC, Ren Arakawa looked at the members of Team China. "We'll go find resources. You all guard the base. When I leave, command authority will be handed over to Chu Xuan."

Ren Arakawa added a special reminder, "Chu Xuan, don't go too big. The team battle is important."

Chu Xuan nodded. "Don't worry, it's not time yet."

The others didn't know what Chu Xuan, with his hidden meaning, was planning, but bound by Ren Arakawa's instructions, they could only obey Chu Xuan's orders.

Ren Arakawa spoke to Ada Wong, "Arrangements are complete."

Ada Wong nodded. "In that case, we shouldn't delay. Let's depart as soon as possible!"

Zheng Zha followed.

Ren Arakawa waved at Zhang Jie. "Let's go."

Leon hesitated for a moment, then picked up the gun on the table. "I'll go too!"

The five-person team moved stealthily through the darkness, surrounded by the ceaseless roars of zombies. Ren Arakawa walked at the very front, exuding a calm and reassuring aura.

But Zhang Jie, who understood, knew exactly what that was.

Observation Haki!

Zheng Zha followed closely behind, tightly gripping a dagger, his muscles taut, ready to respond to any sudden situation. He was completely unaware of just how formidable Ren Arakawa's current combat power was.

Zhang Jie, on the other hand, watched the rear of the team to prevent zombies from launching a sneak attack from behind.

Leon and Ada Wong walked side by side. Ren Arakawa occasionally turned his head to glance at the pair; suddenly, his thoughts drifted back to a summer evening playing Resident Evil 4 on an old computer in his uncle's supermarket.

Suddenly!

A group of zombies surged out from the street corner, pouncing aggressively toward the small team!

Ren Arakawa's eyes narrowed, and he pulled a handful of steel beads from his pocket!

With the aid of his Mangekyo Sharingan, he raised his hand and flung out the steel beads. In the blink of an eye, this wave of rushing zombies was all headshotted!

Zhang Jie had only ever seen such an effect in over-the-top war dramas where characters tore enemies apart with their bare hands. The corner of his mouth twitched slightly as he thought that Team China really only needed Ren Arakawa alone.

After some searching, they finally arrived in front of a gun store.

The gun store's front door was ajar, swaying gently in the wind and emitting creaking sounds, as if recounting its glory from before the apocalypse.

Perhaps before the apocalypse, on a certain sunny afternoon, a high school student came here, bought three guns, and went back to school to shoot up a bunch of classmates and teachers.

Everyone cautiously entered the gun store. The interior was in chaos; shelves were toppled, and various shell casings and debris were scattered on the floor.

Ada Wong frowned, meticulously searching every corner, hoping to find some useful ammunition.

However, when she opened the last cabinet, a look of disappointment appeared on her face.

The entire gun store was already empty, except for an old-fashioned bolt-action single-shot rifle in the cabinet, which had little practical use but considerable collection value.

Ada Wong picked up the rifle and, after examining it for a moment, said, "This gun store was already one of the harder ones to reach. If there's nothing here, I'm afraid the other gun stores won't have anything either."

Ren Arakawa suggested, "Let's go to the police station. The police station's ammunition reserves should be more abundant. The Resident Evil outbreak happened quickly, so perhaps the warehouse in the police station wasn't touched in time."
