As I sit in my throne room of my relatively new castle that is built on top of one of the jagged mountain tops, mulling over the last 80 years, it is quite shocking to say nothing much happened, I guess in the grand scheme of things, not much time has passed.
More and more daemons are being created as a biproduct of the birth of the Primordial Daemons, which was to be expected, considering the inherent knowledge we are supplied with, I knew this would happen. I would say 99% of them came to find me and pledge their undying loyalty to me, which makes sense considering I am their liege, not in the human sense, this is real, ingrained loyalty that they are born with. Not fickle human sentiments.
If not for that reason I would have not bothered with them. They wanted to obviously prove themselves to me, and considering my not so proactive and approachable personality they are quite apprehensive of me, maybe because of my power too? I will say, when the novels stated that Primordial Daemons grow in power as they age, they were not kidding. I feel a 100x stronger than 80 years ago, maybe more, I cannot really judge it at the moment.
Anyway, yeah, these followers of mine or of my house, built this castle I now reside in, and have built a nice little civilisation in this region, while further expanding outwards, from what some of them have said it seems that the other Primordial Daemons or rather their followers are doing the same. Well, except Noir, I knew he was an oddball, but still even this early on really? I know he is meant to be Rimuru's ally, however, I may just try and recruit him, I have already changed the future at this point. I am not the best with words, but maybe my future actions will draw this weirdos attention.
I have also been on the look out for any powerful daemon from my house to have evolved, however, so far the highest has been a Greater Daemon, which is essentially the lowest for a colour lineage, with a lot of Lesser Daemons being taken in by the Greater Daemons for protection, it seems it will take a while longer for anyone to evolve into an Arch-Daemon. The interesting thing is, that every time a daemon that is born from me evolves, I can sense where they are and their power levels. So, I have been spending most of my time doing just that, and still training of course.
Suddenly, I feel a fluctuation, on the current border of my territory, it seems a daemon is evolving? Considering the mass amount of magicules in the area, that makes sense. Finally! They seemed to be quite talented too, to be able to evolve this quickly.
I stood up, and walked down the grey stone steps of my throne, and onto the shiny marble-like material beneath my feet as I went to the arch-like windows carved of the same grey stone as the steps to my throne and jump out, flying to the location at blistering speed.
----------------
A while later:
I land in an open area on the border, and what greets me is a young looking woman, tall and slim, with long glossy black hair and eyes, with pale white skin, almost translucent. Along with some daemonic features here and there, such as horns and black wings on her back, with some black long claws sprouting out her fingers. Truly a dangerous beauty, if one with a human heart was standing here they maybe wooed, however, there was no such person.
She was currently on her back, breathing heavily from the exertion of the evolution, she turned her head weakly and as soon as she saw me standing there, scrambled to her feet and kneeled, trying to straighten out her out-of-place hair. "My Lord! You honour me with your almighty presence!" This type of talk took me a few years to get used to, however, after analysing it, I realised to them I am essentially their creator, they exist because I exist, and after thinking like that, I got used to the language. As I was musing to myself I could see she was visibly shaking, another thing I got used to, they all instinctually fear me. I am after all almighty to them, but more than that I am a recluse still, completely unapproachable.
I decide to break the silence "I sensed the signs of evolution, you are the first amongst my house to become an Arch-Daemon, well done." I said lazily and straightforwardly. She seemed to jolt slightly, hmm, whatever, I am going back, actually her talent isn't half bad, should I make her my subordinate? "Raise you head." I said sternly, more serious now. She looks up, however, still she averts her gaze. "Your talent is not bad in the least, I will need some close subordinates for what is to come, will you serve me personally?" Yes she is linked to me, fears me and my power, however, if I was going to have someone as my subordinate, a close position, I want someone that at least wants to and not a reluctant participant. She seems to be holding back a smile as her tense face now looks at me "Yes! I mean, of course My Lord! It would be an honour of a lifetime to serve as your right hand!" Wow, she seems a bit weird, whatever. "Alright, good, I guess I will name you, hmm, Kali, you will be Kali." I said offhandedly, before I turned to get back to my castle, all of a sudden I felt an immense energy output from Kali, she seems to be going through another evolution? Oh shit! How could I forget, Arch-Daemons can evolve to a higher level called a Daemon Noble, if they are named by a powerful existence, I guess couple that with her great talent, and this is the result.
As I watched the process with mild curiosity, I saw as her once daemon features, slowly receded, her wings disappeared and her long black claws sharpened, while her horns also vanished. Now she could pass for a human, well, if she hid her claws.
Her attire had also changed, it was now a frilly maid attire, all black with some grey and white accents. What the hell? I know evolutions can increase a daemons sense of self and purpose, also the one naming can also subtly influence the process, but this? *Sigh* whatever, if this is what she thinks makes her better fit to serve me, I guess its fine. As I finished that thought, the light dissipated and there was Kali in all her glory.
"Master! Thank you for the name and your blessings!" She then bowed low. I nodded absentmindedly, while thinking, wow she has gotten a lot more powerful, her magicule capacity is now multiple times stronger, and also it seems she gained some new skills most likely, from what I remember they may be related to the one who named them. Eh, whatever, I have reached my limit of giving a fuck right now. "Right Kali, lets get back, for now you can just serve me however you want." I said languidly, she nodded with some professional seriousness, and we got on our way back.
