Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Returning Home

After lunch, the students returned to the classroom one after another, ready to start their afternoon classes.

There was no lunch break or evening study at Icleus College. School ended at 4:30 in the afternoon. Teachers did not assign homework after school, and class assignments were usually completed on the spot.

The first class in the afternoon was basic knowledge of star beasts.

"The Federation has been established for 423 years. We are committed to developing a human home in interstellar space and exploring and developing new resource planets. In this long and arduous journey, fierce battles with star beasts are an indispensable part. Today, we will learn about a star beast once discovered in the Xilai system - the Goose-winged Flickering Butterfly."

"This is a picture of it. As the name suggests, the Goose-winged Flickering Butterfly has dazzlingly colorful wings with patterns resembling prismatic gemstones. During battle, its wings emit a dreamy glow to confuse its enemies, and its mouthparts are laced with a deadly poison..."

The teacher on the stage was speaking incessantly.

Shi Chu felt drowsy listening to the lecture.

Her mental attributes had reached A-level, and she had almost a photographic memory. Coupled with years of experience in exam-oriented education, these cultural courses were easy.

She always topped the class and was in the top 40 in her grade. If she really put in the effort, getting into the top 5 wouldn't be a problem, but that would be too conspicuous. A beta in an ordinary class would outperform most of the aristocratic kids in the special class. She didn't want to be the first to stand out; staying calm and developing was the most important thing.

Because of this, even though she often slept in class, the teacher ignored her completely.

It was so hypnotic. She tried to look up at the teacher who was spitting all over the stage, and then fell asleep without any burden under the teacher's magical voice.

When she woke up, school was over, and most of the people in the classroom had left.

Shi Chu rubbed her eyes, got up from the table, and started packing up to go home.

"You finally woke up. I thought you were going to sleep until tomorrow morning."

Shen Xiuyin had already packed up. She leaned close to Shichu and whispered, "I noticed that Luo Yanchuan didn't come to class this afternoon. I wonder why."

She carefully observed Shichu's reaction, trying to judge something from it. In fact, she had already found out privately that Luo Yanchuan had transferred to the regular class because of a conflict with his family.

Luo Yanchuan? Who? Her mind was still a little confused, and it took her a while to react.

Oh, it's the young master of the Luo family, the bastard from this morning.

Shi Chu raised her eyes and glanced at Shen Xiuyin lazily. Was it her illusion? Why did it seem like her deskmate was paying close attention to that guy?

Forget it, it's none of my business.

She always keeps a distance from things that don't concern her.

Although they seemed to have a good relationship on the surface, in reality, their relationship was only slightly better than that of ordinary classmates.

It was only after they changed seats in the class half a year ago that he took the initiative to talk to her and get closer to her, and they gradually became familiar with each other.

She wasn't a fool, so she could see that the other party approached her with a purpose, but since he insisted on getting close to her and it had no impact on her, she ignored him.

"By the way, you asked me about him this afternoon. Could it be that you have a crush on him? I advise you to stay away from these people from aristocratic families. They're not easy to mess with; otherwise, you'll get into trouble." Shen Xiuyin whispered in her ear.

Shi Chu looked at her strangely. She thought she had simply fallen asleep today and hadn't done anything that could cause misunderstanding.

"No, don't worry, I know exactly how much I weigh."

Men only affected her speed in drawing her sword. She just wants to become stronger now.

If there is no man in your heart, you will naturally become a god when you draw your sword.

"Then I'll be leaving first. Bye." She quickly packed her things, put on her backpack, and left without looking back.

If she didn't leave now, she felt that Shen Xiuyin would continue to talk to her. She wasn't interested in these things at all. Instead of spending time chatting, she might as well go home early, play games, and go to bed.

"You...goodbye." Shen Xiuyin was stunned for a moment. Her deskmate has always been mysterious. He doesn't study much in class, but his grades are always so good.

She was quite happy when she changed her seat, thinking that she could get some benefit and improve her grades.

Who knew that the other person looked easy to approach, but was actually cold and indifferent. It took me a month or two to get familiar with him. Then I successfully asked him for study materials. My grades improved a lot, so my efforts were not in vain.

A dark light flashed in her eyes. Did something happen this morning? Luo Yanchuan was clearly in the classroom when she left, but he was gone when she came back, and he didn't come to class in the afternoon either.

She had seen Shichu leave the training room and had also found her in the classroom at noon, so it was very likely that they had crossed paths. However, she had asked Shichu indirectly about this at noon, but had gotten nothing out of her, and her response had just been indifference.

After a long time, Shen Xiuyin let out a breath and said, "Let's go back first."

...

Shi Chu boarded the star-track train bound for the outer ring planet and arrived home ten minutes later.

The Federation, whose full name is the Red Fire Human Federation, is composed of four major galaxies and has tens of thousands of planets suitable for human habitation.

And now she is in the main star of the Federation - Xilia. The outer ring star is a natural satellite of the main star, and she lives there.

Shi Chu stood in front of the door and entered the password. After successful facial recognition authentication, the door slowly opened.

As soon as she stepped into the door, she threw her backpack on the locker at the door, changed into a pair of slippers, and lay down on the sofa.

This is her home in this world. It is not big, only about 100 square meters, but it is enough for her and has everything she needs.

When she first came through, she lived in a somewhat shabby room. Next to her lived an old lady in poor health. The old lady was very kind and took care of her like her granddaughter.

Later, the FBI suddenly came to her house and told her that she was stunned when her parents died fighting star beasts in the Xilai galaxy.

She couldn't find her identity on Starnet at all, which meant she was an illegal resident. How could she suddenly have two more parents?

Later, Shichu learned from the neighbor's grandmother that it was her son and daughter-in-law who had sacrificed their lives. She had a terminal illness and the doctor said she could live for another one or two months at most.

She was the only one at home, and the old lady felt that the federal compensation was useless, so she told the federal people that she had a granddaughter and hoped to give the compensation to her granddaughter, who was herself.

The Federation quickly arranged her identity and household registration. She cared for the old woman on that planet until she died, personally burying her ashes next to her son and daughter-in-law, allowing them to reunite in another world. Only after completing all this did she leave.

Federal compensation for military families depends on the circumstances.

Because she was an orphan and her parents had died, leaving her alone in the family, the Federation transferred her from a remote planet to the main planet and gave her a house on the outer ring planet, a sum of compensation, and admission to Icles College.

Many aspects of this world were similar to Blue Star, especially its culture. It was more like a future world of Blue Star, a Promax version of Blue Star. Because of this, she was able to adapt quickly here.

Shi Chu lay on the sofa for a while, then rolled over and sat up. She used her laptop to browse various posts on the Star Network forum, and then ordered some takeout that she usually eats.

It arrives in three minutes after I place an order. Star Speed is really fast. Everyone who has used it says it's good.

After she finished dinner, she opened the game panel and began to check the tasks she had not completed that day.

[Name: Shichu]

[Daily Tasks:]

1. Play ten rounds of the mini-game "Candy Crush" built into the game panel. (Completed)

2. Play ten rounds of the built-in Sudoku game. (Completed)

3. Play a single-player Battle Royale game in the StarNet game "Blazing Front." (Unfinished)

4. Play a team battle in the Star Network game "Blazing Front". (Unfinished)

[Weekly Mission: Win the "Blazing Front" team battle and kill 30 or more enemies. (Unfinished)]

Seeing the words "Blazing Front" reminded her of the unpleasant experience last weekend.

That bastard better pray that she doesn't find the opportunity, otherwise he will be in trouble!
