A second stage mage would be capable of stage one magic like casting buffs and using magic shields but only on two people at once, A stage three will be capable of using stage two spells and a higher profiency where they can now cast curses or spell on 4 people at once.
Stage four is when you find your natural affinity, as you store mana in your heart it creates mana circles around if which is then used as an indicator of your stage.
Stage five is where things get complicated as it is harder to reach because cultivation and mana absorption in your surroundings will become close to useless to you and you would have to hunt demons and beast to gain mana Unlike us when they die their mana dissipates into the air, after killing a mana beast you have to absorb the mana coming out of it which is never an easy task.
However mages of stage five are capable for using 2 different spells at once and that has made project easier as they cast shields around them while cultivating to affect being attacked and from there their powers increases so does their stages the continent only has four stage seven mages.
Swordsmen how ever are a lot more different they possess aura instead, which is what mana turns into when you allow it free flow into your body and it gets acquainted you acquire the ability to use aura.
Becoming a swordsman on the other hand is much harder of a process than that of a mage as it requires dedication, focus and patience.
Swordsmen only have 4 stages but a lot mor complicated a stage one swordsman can sense mana once you master mana absorption you become a Stage one swordsmen, To proceed from there you have to master different techniques of aura stages which differs from clan to clan and families to families.
Stage two is aura usage and stage three is aura manifestation while stage four is Aura mobility, which is where you stop needing a sword hence why they're called Magic Swordsmen.
