"Yeah. Why?" Max takes a step back, apparently not fully sure where the doctor is going with this.
"Your mother was one of my first patients. My very first werewolf patient actually. It's nice to see you all grown up. I'm not surprised that you were referred to me specifically by Dr. Stein." The doctor steps to the side, looking at me. "That means that you're Ethan, right?"
I nod and take his hand. "I am. Thank you for seeing us."
"No problem. You're a polite young man." The doctor nods to the chair. "Let's get started."
Why does everyone have to comment on me being nice or polite? I've just been raised properly. It's not like I'm weird or something. At least, I don't think I am...
I take a deep breath and then walk to the chair, sliding onto it and sitting back. Max pulls a chair close and holds my hand. It's good to feel him close because I'm starting to shake slightly, nerves taking over, and my breath is shallowing.
