Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 Adam vs the Demon Queen

"Are you mocking me?!"

The Demon Queen glared furiously at Adam. On the face of this exquisitely made-up woman, there were three stripes painted below her eyes, blue lips, pink hair, and a green dress, giving her an exceptionally dignified appearance.

She was just too old!

"I'm not, I really haven't eaten…"

"Blood Creation Magic: Blood Execution Ground!"

The Demon Queen waved her hand, and blood gushed from her body, forming a blood-red cross that bound Adam.

"The Witch's Forest is not a place for you to run wild. Pay for your foolishness!"

Adam felt a sense of novelty; it was his first time seeing such a blood-binding technique.

The Demon Queen saw Adam's nonchalant demeanor, clearly not taking her seriously. Her eyes seemed to shoot fire, and she gritted her teeth, shouting, "Die! Blood Creation Magic: Blood Manipulation."

Nothing happened!

The Demon Queen was stunned. This magic was supposed to instantly control the blood in a person's body, so why was there no reaction?

Countless tiny blood threads from the blood-red cross were inserted into Adam's body, but no matter how the Demon Queen urged her magic, the man remained completely unaffected.

"Haha! Interesting, this world is truly too interesting!"

Adam's old habit resurfaced; whenever he encountered something that piqued his interest, he would go mad.

Adam's mouth stretched into a crescent shape, his face contorted savagely, and his expression became frenzied. He sneered, "The blood in your body is not worthy of entering a proud dragon's body. It's absolutely ridiculous."

Crack!

Bull Power activated!

Adam directly broke free from the blood cross's bondage. He walked towards the Demon Queen step by step, like an Evil Dragon from hell, leaving the old woman stunned in place.

It was even a little terrifying!

Should she use that power… this hateful man.

The Demon Queen's expression changed, as if she was making a decision. Suddenly, she lowered her raised right hand, straightened her clothes, and said calmly and composedly, "I think we should sit down and talk properly."

"Dora! Come quickly and prepare food to entertain our guest."

A woman with pink hair, wearing glasses and a white dress, immediately ran down from the second floor and shouted, "Yes, Your Majesty!"

"She is my housekeeper. Let her prepare a feast for you, one that will relieve your exhaustion."

This woman's change of expression was incredibly fast. One moment she looked as if she wanted to devour Adam alive, and the next she was like a caring older sister, using feigned gentleness to release her "goodwill."

"That's right. Fighting and killing are so boring~ Your Majesty, we really should talk properly. You should know that I have no ill intentions. I even like it here very much."

Adam's change of expression was also swift. This fickle Evil Dragon, who was unpredictable with his enemies, would always choose the optimal path forward.

Hypocritical man!

The Demon Queen's expression remained unchanged, but inwardly she detested this man. She forced a smile and said, "Let's move to the main hall. There's a lavish feast there. You…"

"Your Majesty, forgive my impoliteness."

Adam bowed slightly to the Demon Queen. This handsome man possessed a unique and inherent charisma. With a hint of a smile, he said, "I come from the Clover Kingdom and am a member of the Black Bulls. I am currently unmarried. Just call me Adam!"

Hateful man, who cares if you're married or not!

"Your Majesty, the food is ready." Dora shouted loudly.

"Please!" the Demon Queen said, stepping aside.

"You too, please!" Adam was a bit impatient. He really had to try the Demon Queen's cuisine.

Inside the dining room, a rectangular table was laden with various delicacies. After the Demon Queen took her seat at the head of the table, Adam immediately sat to her right.

Dora respectfully stood behind the Demon Queen and, with a smile, said to Adam, "Guest, I hope these dishes are to your liking."

"Extremely satisfying! My stomach is even a bit impatient."

Adam looked at the table full of delicacies, his mouth practically watering. Is the Witch's Forest really so abundant in produce?

He hadn't even seen some of the fruits before.

"Please help yourself!" the Demon Queen said.

"Then I won't be polite."

Adam grabbed a purple, gourd-shaped fruit and took a bite. The crisp, sweet pulp burst in his mouth, satisfying his taste buds.

"This is a specialty of our Witch's Forest. What do you think of it?"

The Demon Queen picked up a red, round fruit and asked with a smile.

"I love it very much!"

Adam was truly eating with both hands. After a tiring day, a delicious meal like this was simply wonderful.

"Then I'll get straight to the point, Adam. What is your purpose in coming here?"

Adam stopped eating, turned to the Demon Queen, and sincerely said, "I want to ask you for a favor. Can you heal the burns from an ancient curse? My family member…"

Adam briefly explained Asta's situation to the Demon Queen. He patted his chest and guaranteed, "As long as Your Majesty can heal Asta, I will help you with one thing, provided it doesn't go against my conscience!"

A promise from a strong one?

The Demon Queen looked at Adam's expectant expression. This mysterious man, whose fate the blood-colored crystal ball couldn't reveal, and whose body even the blood-red thread couldn't penetrate… A promise in exchange for something easy for her. This seemed like a profitable deal no matter how she looked at it.

But… she refused!

Sinful man, I cannot forgive you!

The Demon Queen's mind was constantly calculating, but on her face, she put on a slightly apologetic expression. She pretended to be embarrassed and replied, "I'm truly sorry, I cannot remove such an ancient curse."

Upon hearing the Demon Queen's words, Adam looked a bit disappointed. It seemed he would have to ask that insidious old fox.

"However…" the Demon Queen drew out the word, her face showing some difficulty, as if she didn't know whether she should say it or not.

"However what?" Adam immediately asked.

"However, to the north of the Witch's Forest, near the Spade Kingdom, there is a hidden Magic Palace. There might be a way to resolve the curse there."

The Demon Queen saw Adam's thoughtful expression and knew he didn't believe her. She quickly added, "That place is within the Strong Magic Zone, and its entrance is very hidden. No one knows how to get in, and the Magic Palace is extremely dangerous, with most who enter never returning."

The Demon Queen explained.

Adam pondered for a moment, then asked with a hint of doubt, "I heard the Spade Kingdom is very powerful. Don't they have any desire to conquer it? And with your strength, even the Strong Magic Zone should be easy for you to pass through!"

"I must always guard my home."

The Demon Queen smiled and explained, "The Spade Kingdom doesn't know about that Magic Palace at all. It's a secret only I know."

"Then why are you telling me? There are many treasures in the Magic Palace." Adam continued to ask.

"As the saying goes, 'no discord, no concord.' I am also looking for a fated person. Treasures are of no use to me, so it's better to give the opportunity to someone capable of obtaining them."

The Demon Queen hypocritically asked, "What do you say?"

"I accept Your Majesty's kindness. I will depart tomorrow morning."

Adam's lips curled into an evil smile. His stomach was still rumbling. He returned his gaze to the table and continued to enjoy the feast.

Hypocritical woman, I'd like to see what tricks you can play!
