Chapter 2 - THREE BOYS ON FIRST DAY

IT ALL STARTED ON THAT DAY – THE DAY I CAN NEVER FORGET

TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE ACTUAL INCIDENT

It was a calm morning. ASHRAF was lying on his bed, slowly waking up to the chirping of birds. Soft sunlight fell on his face. He was still lost in his dreams when he suddenly realized—it was the first day of college.

He panicked.

With very little time left, he rushed to get ready and went to the bathroom. While he was bathing, JAKE arrived at his place. Seeing ASHRAF inside, JAKE playfully turned off the hot water supply.

ASHRAF shouted and splashed water at JAKE. Both laughed, but because of this, they got late.

Meanwhile, SINU HAN was busy talking to his crush on the phone and did not notice the time at all.

All three rushed to college and reached just in time—with messy hair and half-tucked shirts.

ASHRAF asked,

"Guys, which block?"

JAKE pointed in a random direction and said,

"Trust me."

They walked in. JAKE saw a classroom and pushed the door open. Inside were nearly fifty students—all girls. The lecturer stopped and looked at them.

"Yes?" she asked.

ASHRAF whispered,

"JAKE… this doesn't look like our class."

JAKE replied confidently,

"No chance, bro. I'm sure."

The lecturer adjusted her glasses and said calmly,

"Unless your subject is English Literature, you are in the wrong class."

Embarrassed, they slowly walked out while the whole class laughed.

SINU HAN shook his head.

"Next time, follow directions—not feelings."

They went to the main block and asked about the fresher orientation. The office mistress told them to go to the seminar hall in the sixth block, also called BLOCK NOVA.

Inside the seminar hall, seating was arranged according to different majors—CSE (Core), Data Science, AI/ML, EEE, ECE, Civil, Mechanical, and others. Luckily, they found empty seats and sat down. They were given a booklet with a pen attached.

ASHRAF looked around and said,

"Why does this place look like an exam hall?"

JAKE replied,

"College wants to scare us from day one."

Soon, a senior came on stage with a microphone.

"Good morning, freshers!"

Everyone replied together,

"Good morning, sir!"

The senior started explaining rules, discipline, and attendance. Some students listened carefully. Others just pretended.

SINU HAN was still smiling at his phone.

JAKE whispered,

"Bro, orientation means introduction, not conversation."

Suddenly, a faculty member started calling names for attendance. The hall became silent.

"Ashraf?"

ASHRAF stood up quickly.

"Yes, sir—present!"

The faculty member looked confused.

"Sit down. I meant ASHRAF from CSE (DATA SCIENCE)."

JAKE whispered,

"Wrong ASHRAF. Wrong department. Wrong life."

A few moments later—

"Sinu Han?"

Still looking at his phone, SINU HAN replied loudly,

"Love you too!"

The entire hall burst into laughter.

The faculty member said,

"Whoever that was, welcome to college. Please keep your phone away."

SINU HAN slowly put his phone in his pocket.

ASHRAF leaned back and sighed.

"Day one… and we are already famous."

JAKE smiled and said,

"This is just the trailer."
