'I must have cracked a bone or two because of the fall.' Rudra mused, "Why is that dog toying with me?" he asked himself.
Rudra was running through the forest like he had no tomorrow, even though his legs wanted to stop and give up, because of the pain he was going through
'I can't keep this up for long.' He knew that, if he continued running, before long either his legs or his body would give up. 'The best option for me now is to find an area where there are a lot of trees.'
The area of the forest where he was currently was sparsely covered with trees. If he continued being here, he knew that he would be caught in no time. He wanted to reach a dense forest area so that he might be able to take advantage of the wolf's weakness.
With an ear-numbing sound, a wind slash suddenly brushed past Rudra's head. 'It feels like a child playing with his food, in this case, I am the food,' Rudra thought to himself as he smirked in self-ridicule.
Incidents like this kept repeating themselves. Rudra didn't dare to stop even once. 'This guy is intentionally not targeting me. Although even if it did target me, I would have managed to dodge; however, that didn't mean I would be safe,' he thought as he tried to imagine himself trying to dodge all of the attacks.
'Does it not want to kill me?' Rudra mused 'No, that is impossible. I can feel the killing intent behind all of the attacks. He no doubt is after my head.' He thought, he somehow wanted to believe that the wolf didn't want to hurt him. That idea went out of his head as soon as he realized that if the wolf wanted him alive.
The wolf wanted him to play with it until he became its meal. 'This feeling is the same as the one I felt when I looked directly at the sword that the masked man was carrying.' Rudra remembered. 'The only way I am making my way out is by killing the wolf.'
Suddenly, from the corner of his eyes, Rudra spotted an area where he had been before. 'That's it, that's the exact place where I killed the goblin a while ago. That is the safest place I can be right now,' he thought as he looked back at the densely forested area he had been in before.
'Just how far behind me is he?' Rudra asked, 'I really want to see how long you can keep this game up.' he started getting very frustrated as the time went by. The pain in his leg just kept growing stronger; the magic attacks were more relentless, and his body was almost at its limit.
'I am thankful that I became a 1st circle before this happened,' Rudra mused, 'If not, I would have been the wolves' dinner by now.' A lot of changes had occurred in his body; he could clearly feel that he was 2 times, if not 3 times, faster than any normal human.
His stamina was through the roof, and his bones seemed to have been strengthened as well. Earlier, when he fell from the tree, he knew that if he were back on earth, he would have really broken his entire leg. Mirauculously, he was still able to run even after he knew something was wrong with his leg.
All of these changes had occurred merely because of creating his first circle. He could only imagine just how much his body would change if he were to surpass apprentice level. Maybe he would even be able to perform miracles soon.
'What was that?' Rudra was suddenly bewildered. He heard an abrupt loud sound followed by a whimpering sound. 'Was that what I think that was?' he questioned, looking back to make sure what he heard was the sound of the wolf.
'That's it, good.' Rudra rejoiced. 'Who would have thought this method would actually work? Reading books about the monsters of this world surely did pay off.' He thought, thinking back, he knew that the knowledge would someday help him, and it really did.
"WHOOOOOO WHOOOO" The wolf howled. It looked at the disappearing back of Rudra, furious although dizzy after hitting a tree. While trying to avoid a tree while sprinting, I tried dodging, and ended up hitting another.
The forehead had a long, open cut after the collision, and blood spilled from the wound. Slowly flowing down the face, some entered the eyes. Making his eyes turn red in just mere seconds. Making him look very intimidating.
'This is bad,' Rudra panicked. "My chance is now, I must act accordingly if I want to be alive, I must fight." He thought as he held his makeshift spears in his hands. Two spears for both hands, as the last one still hung on his back. He threw one of them towards the wolf, but it was instantly deflected.
'Are you smirking? You mutt!' Rudra exclaimed as he felt that the wolf was mocking him. He had clearly seen a small smirk on the wolf's face right after deflecting the spear.
"WHOUUU," Cried the wolf, following his cries, countless trees started falling around him. The once white and pristine fur that covered the head of the wolf was now totally covered with red. Without even lifting his paws, the wolf was using his skill Wind Slash, in quick succession, clearing a chunk of the forest in an instant.
'This attack doesn't seem to have the same power behind it compared to the power he had just a little while ago.' Rudra contemplated, 'Maybe he is running out of his Spiritual power reserve.' With no way to know for sure, he just speculated.
"GHAAA GHAAA" Wolf Huffed and puffed right behind Rudra, he who was, until now running in zig-zag, was suddenly running in a straight line. This opportunity was enough for the wolf to catch up to him.
'This is it.' Rudra felt the Spiritual power fluctuate behind him; he instinctively knew an attack was imminent. He didn't seem panicked and grabbed a pouch in his pocket. Scattered the contents of the pouch all over the wolf's face. In the middle of unleashing a spell, the Wolf was unable to dodge. The pouch was filled with small pebbles and fine sand soaked with water.
"Now!" Rudra exclaimed as he turned around and thrust the remaining spear towards the wolf's throat. The wolf had to close his eyes because of the sand attack from earlier; it had no way of seeing the attack Rudra's attack. "Whou Whou." The wolf suddenly started to whine as it felt a sharp pain.
Just as he wanted, his spear was inside the throat of the wolf. Instead of being happy, Rudra had a horrified look on his face. 'I miscalculated, the muscle on his body is way more dense than I thought,' he thought as horror filled his heart.
'This is bad,' He thought. He grabbed the last of the spear from his back, instantly after realizing his mistake. He aimed for the eye of the Wolf as he thrusted his spear. Instead of being able to hit the eye, he was left with just half of the spear in his hand. The other half was inside the wolf's mouth.
