Lana then left her team to discuss it while she went to the library. Vorden decided to go with her. He didn't want to distract her from her work but he could help by bringing her drinks and food.
Logan went back to his room. He needed to finish building the mobile laboratory for her while the portable teleporter from the vampire world remained hooked up to his computer with an algorithm looking for the codes to unlock it. The device had been in his family for decades and he made it one of his life's purposes to unlock it and explore where it goes.
Back in the dome, all five people agreed they would help her and devised a plan to ensure she had prepared meals so she could focus on her work. They also devised a plan to spar with each other to get stronger before heading off to a faction. Dobin took the job of figuring out which would be a good fit and see if they would allow something like a summer-intern thing to help them get stronger before starting second year.
The next day, Lana turned in one paper and tested out of Agriculture. She made arrangements with Nis to begin taking her exams early so she could focus on more important things. They would all take place over the next two weeks while she also focused on compiling her data for the sandwich paper. Nis also agreed to allow her friends to take turns not coming to class for the rest of the term to support her in her studies. Having a student get published was an important milestone and he was willing to ensure she had the tools to get it done.
Later that day, when Lana delivered his sandwich, Logan told her there was a way to the vampire world, to save Peter. The device he had been working on was unlocked and Quinn told him the device led to the vampire homeworld. They would be going over the summer. Lana informed him she was going as well then. She would help save Peter and bring him home. Logan also handed over the lab at this time. His focus was now switched to getting ready for the trip but he would still provide her support.
One month from Summer Break, Lana turned in the sandwich paper. The school was handling publication for her so she didn't need to worry about that portion. She had also perfected the luxury traveling kitchen and was ready to do the commercial. Her friends no longer needed to stay with her so they returned their things to their rooms. Logan came out and filmed her commercial. She had not used the lab much yet as her other paper needed to be perfected. The last paper was on the energy bars she was working on. Due to time, she decided to write the paper as a negative, the failures she had and include in the discussion and conclusion portions what could be tried in the future. This meant that paper, the final one, was almost done as well.
Caser was now 7 weeks old and needed to eat normal beast food. She simply stopped by and got the food on the way out from bringing Logan his sandwiches. He also no longer fit in her bra so he had to ride on her shoulder. Her uniforms were often ripped and she had to get some replacements. It was a Tuesday, she realized. Her new clothing must be ready now. Kattie had come in to cook for her and noticed how tired she looked.
"You need a break."
Lana nodded. "I just realized my new clothing should be ready." She messaged Dilly and arranged to meet her. Since Lana had no more classes, she was able to meet Dilly in her own classroom. Kattie accompanied her to the seamstress classroom. The rules were you needed to be in a class for the afternoon so even if Kattie had not had her exception, attending this class still counted. They sat in the back and waited for the class to end and Dilly pulled them to her work area. There were three mannequins that were covered in sheets. There was also a sheet on her work station.
Dilly removed the first sheet. This was an all-black outfit that covered her completely. This was created for stealth and looked similar to a body stocking. It was form-fitting. If Quinn were to use his inspect skill on this outfit, the boots had a passive skill of Silent Step. The whole outfit had a defense of 50 with everything combined. The torso portion had a once a day skill called Rebound that reflected damage to the caster. The legs added to agility to make her faster and her acrobatics more effective. The arms added to her strength. The gloves also added to strength but had an added skill that acted as a dimensional pocket for small items. The example given was she could hide a max of four beast crystals in her gloves. Lana had a huge smile on her face after Dilly explained this all to her.
The next outfit was a shirt and pants with a jacket. The colors were red, yellow and black. The outfit looked like a blazing inferno. The shirt had spaghetti straps but seemed to support her quite well. She'd be able to move in any way she wanted and all her parts would stay where they were supposed to. The jacket looked like a standard leather jacket a biker would wear but no zippers could be seen, even though they were there and had pockets on top of that. Her jacket had pockets on the inside as well which made her really happy. She felt there was a war on girls' clothing against pockets. The boots had a small heel that was barely perceptible. She was able to move her foot in all ways with no decrease in her flexibility. She already liked it without even knowing any of its special attributes. The defense was the same on all three outfits since they were just intermediate crystals after all: 20 on the chest, 5 on each arm, leg and foot. This outfit had resistance to fire on all parts. The boots had speed on them as well as Wind Walk. Lana liked that because she had seen how fast her brother had been in his boots. Her torso also had a skill which absorbed a certain amount of energy from attacks and added to her MC. This meant she would take partial damage and absorb the rest. Quinn's inspect skill would have told her 5 points of damage will be absorbed. Her jacket had the active skill Bewilder which would cause an opponent with low intelligence to be distracted for up to two seconds. It had a 30 minute cool-down time.
The dress looked like a blue sparkling evening gown with form-fitting ¾ sleeves. The skirt portion was flowing which would allow her full range of kicks. Under the skirt was matching underwear which attached to the top so she had to step into this dress rather than pull it over her head. The boots matched and had a small ½ inch heel. If Quinn were to inspect this dress, there was a 15% chance the dress would shock anyone who hit her. It also had elemental resistance of 5. Her boots had an active skill called Electric Eel. For two minutes, she could shock anyone she kicked. This had a 30-minute cool down.
Lana was exceptionally pleased. Then Dilly unveiled what was on the table under the sheet. There was a choker, what looked like a cloth version of bracers, and another thing she didn't quite recognize. All were reversible so they could be worn with either outfit. The choker had a light crystal in it that resembled an opal when not activated. The setting was mirrored. She simply needed to touch it and she could see in the dark. To reverse it, she needed to hold the setting and press the stone. It moved the stone to the other side of the fabric yet held the stone firmly. It also had an active skill of Amplify Voice. She had unlimited uses of this. The bracers snapped on around her forearms. She was surprised at the weight of them. She looked at Dilly in askance.
"They have an added something extra. You can use them to block attacks up to intermediate level like with normal armor but these build up energy. Once enough has built up, they send out a spark at the attacker."
Lana smiled even brighter. She then picked up this small thing that was rounded.
"For your hair. Your pony tail. It does a few things. One, it keeps the rain off you so you stay dry and your visibility doesn't get affected by rain in your eyes. But it does the same thing with wind, blowing sand, things like that. Now, if it's an ability wind or water, for example, above level 2, it won't help but it won't get damaged unless it's hit."
Lana squealed. This was the perfect thing she didn't know she needed. She gave Dilly a big hug. "Why don't we three go to the store and get some kind of treat. Or maybe ice cream?" she stated as she put on the jacket, bracers, choker and hair piece after its use was demonstrated. She then asked Caser to sit on her shoulder. She moved around and he stayed put with his claws and no damage was done. "Yeah, we need ice cream!" She carefully packed her new clothing in her bag and realized the black outfit was thin enough to be worn with the other two.
They were walking in the right direction when a root came up from the ground and she tripped. She was then caught by a beautiful blond boy which she quickly realized was Raten. He had a smile on his face, and he whispered in her ear that he wanted to play. She smiled even bigger which she didn't know was possible. "The girls and I are going for ice cream. Want to join us? I can free my schedule after for the day."
