Based on the new information, the group gathered in Logan's room at lunch for a quick meeting. Based on Silver being Fex's sister, the boys thought they should tell her who they were and get her help. Cia didn't like it but was also confused and didn't want anything to do with the boys to begin with. She just wanted Layla and the truth about her memory loss.
Logan had gotten the schedule for the next week. There was sparring on it and he knew Xander was searching for Vorden's blood which would reveal him as being human. The clock was running out. Logan gave Vorden all the red pills from the lab in case something happened and he needed them. Vorden put them in his pocket.
A piece of paper appeared on Silver's desk halfway through lunch hour.
It was a note talking about helping Fex and meeting in the storage room not far away. When she entered, she was disappointed. It was the four kids from the tenth. Logan counted down and his spray had worn off. He then sprayed himself again. Lana sprayed herself as well.
Silver's eyes went red, her fingernails hardened and she started to panic thinking they had been discovered. Cia stepped back, Vorden put his hands on his swords. Logan told her to remember why they were there.
Silver took a deep breath and calmed down. She told Logan to speak. He told her they were friends of Fex and the wight. They wanted to save them both. Silver had a look of concern as it slowly dawned on her these kids were from the military school. "You met with the vampire Quinn. We are here with him." Logan continued.
Silver told them they were delusional. Then asked what family Quinn was from. None of them knew. Silver told then to return home after summer break and speak of the place to no one. "I'll cover you as much as I can here in school."
She turned to walk out and Vorden told her to wait, Quinn won't give up so easily. She asked where he was. Lana shifted her feet because she had not shared it yet. "Quinn left this morning through a teleporter with the class in the woods." She had not checked for him since then so she had no idea he had already returned.
Everyone stared at her. Silver asked, "are you saying he joined the descendants' class and went to hunt winged bats this morning?"
Lana thought for a moment on all she heard then nodded.
Silver was exasperated. "Still, he's not here for me to talk to." Suddenly a voice sounded in her head. It was the 8th family leader announcing the punisher boy had been seen in the vicinity of the 13th castle. She was to return at once. The message continued to look out for two teens, one was the punisher and the other was the escaped wight. Silver looked at the teens in front of her and said "what is going on?"

While Quinn was fighting the 10 deathbats he needed to kill so he could get his ring that allowed him to be in sunlight, Clark Talon from the 5th family was reporting to the Council what had happened. Since he had used his shadow, they now thought he was a Punisher, a group of vampire law enforcers thought to be wiped out. They now thought Quinn was part of this elite force and were out to capture him no matter the cost.
After Quinn had the crystals to get his ring, he returned and checked his connection with Layla. She was okay. Since he was newly evolved into a Noble, he decided to see if he could find Peter with his connection.
Peter had been in a cell under the 13th castle. Due to the "Punisher," it was decided to move him and Fex using two separate sets of guards. The minute he was removed from his cell, he not only felt his connection to Quinn but his power level increased. Wight's power matched their creators up to a certain point and that point had not been reached yet for Peter.
Reestablishing the connection allowed Peter to grow to where he should have been based on Quinn's current strength. This enabled him to break his chains and overpower his guards. Peter ended up using this new power to animate the two guards he had just killed. They started running around trying to find an exit, knowing Quinn was on his way. They ended up in a big room confronted by the leader of the 4th family, Clark's father, Jin Talon. Quinn found them there. The two guards were killed again.
Peter had to carry Quinn so Quinn could perform a move which would leave him unable to run. This would buy them time to get away. Quinn's system gave him the ability to bypass the locks which enabled them to move around as others could not. His system told him to go to the 10th castle for help so he did.
Fex was successfully moved to the main castle cellars with heavier surveillance.
In the council room, there were flames above every seat at the round table which were activated by the leader. The light above the 10th seat had gone out long ago when the former leader passed while in the human world. When Quinn formed his family by turning Peter after the dalki attack on the planet Caladi, the flame above his seat was lit. The council had been confused by this flame ever since.
The council met to discuss the breakout, which was made up of the leaders of all 13 families and the king. At one time, the leader of the Punishers was part of it as well. After a king died long ago, there was a civil war. The Punishers went into self-banishment as a result.
Now, the leaders of 12 families minus an ailing king, were sitting around this table to discuss the issue of the escapee and the punisher child. Since the castle belonged to the 10th family and no one from that family was on the council, a vote was taken.
Muka from the 9th family stated the 10th would vote in favor of themselves so ultimately, the council vote was split and refused to accept that "the 10th would vote against the proposition" as a vote. They would not try to not force their way into the 10th castle until the King approved such an action.
Bryce, leader of the 1st family and acting on the king's behalf, decided to place a team near the entrances to the castle gates for observation while consulting the king. He was quite angry and vehemently tried to get his way.
At that time, Quinn was opening the door and was in an alley way. Quinn gave a mask to Peter but noticed there were few people in the area. The system told Quinn to head to the tenth castle as it was his castle. Quinn's system was in part designed by the previous leader and told him so at this time.
