Vampire, human and "murder kitty" stood there looking at a sea of dumpers. In that direction was her home. Behind her were huge beasts that had these in front of her as a natural barrier to not be able to get passed. She could wither them all and enable them to endanger her shelter. The better bet was to wither one, climb another then wither another, make a zig-zag pattern or no pattern at all that the beasts could not follow. However, if it rains, there will be no escape. The plants they were standing among said they didn't sense any rain coming. This was going to be interesting.
She looked for a bigger one and took that down. Shalt was on crystal duty but Caser collected them with his tentacles and turned them over. He had the bag at this point. Lana needed to concentrate. Analyzing what she could see with that one gone, she found a much smaller one and took it out. They went like this for over an hour going slow so she could pick a way that big beasts could not follow. She was also not heading back toward her shelter but toward the Bree shelter. There was a lot cleared out that way as well but she didn't want to deliver her family up as a snack.
Back at the shelter, the underground area was cleared and declared safe. They thought about resuming crystal extraction but there was a lot more to do in the underground area. The area on the surface had not been fully cleared to place more crystals so they decided after lunch to go back down, create a doorway, and get that next ramp made. But they needed Lana to buy a door made of glathrium or they would have to move the stone, go through and reseal it.
There was no Lana. They looked in every single house and the cleared area. Dobin had not felt any pain from her so he knew she was not injured but he still wondered where she went. They decided to go through the sealed wall and reseal it. They needed to get that next ramp done. Then the crystal crew could resume when Lana was ready for them.
Dobin left lunch for her on the table in their house. He included a note about telling him when she was going somewhere and they would be working on the ramp for the next area. Holler down when you return.
Another hour later, Lana withered the last dumper and was looking right at the path that led to the Bree shelter. She smiled and went toward her home but they angled so they were well away from danger if the rain returned. She got 52 dumper crystals in that trek, 15 were advanced tier.
Eventually they arrived back home. She noticed the entrance to the area below had no grate on it. This meant the area was cleared. This made her very happy. Almin could put lighting in and crystal extraction could resume next time they came back. She'd put Almin on lighting for the remainder of their time here. She headed to the hole her people should be working on and notice the grate. She laid down and looked through. The ramp was complete. She grinned.
"Let's go see if there is any food," Lana said to Shalt. Caser had a nice lunch of snake. She didn't care if he ate the crystals on those.
She ate the meal presented to her by Dobin and chuckled to herself. She added to the note.
Dobin,
Another beast was watching you guys build the wall so Shalt and I showed him the error of his ways. The way out was closed by the time we were done so we needed another way out. We are back. Lunch was yummy! Going to work on the perimeter again.
Your loving sister,
Lana
She then put in 17A-24A making sure to place their signs. She then went and purchased furniture for everything she built today. She asked Shalt to move the market system to the command post. She would order another system for the travelers to put in their center. The door in the command post that faced the hanger was wide and tall. The back door was normal size and would face the travelers' center once it was built. She showed him where to put it then asked him to go get the faction system and she would get the portion that went in here set up. Meanwhile she ordered desks and tables and chairs to put in here. Upstairs had two offices and it would also have a huge table similar to that in Quinn's ship. She wanted that hologram technology that she had no understanding of to use. It meant she would need a version of Sam or Logan.
In setting this place up, Lana envisioned this floor for greeting people as they came into the shelter. Entering them into the system if need be, filling in applications to join and that sort of administration. She planned to put the communications system below but a link up here so they could hear and communicate. The system Logan was designing would hide the signal in space and having the main equipment underground would hide the signal from the equipment as well.
Lana searched the marketplace for the type of furniture this place needed. Shalt came in followed by Dobin with a huge plate of food. This time she was truly hungry and was grateful for the food.
"This is the command post, huh?"
Lana grinned, "yes. This bottom part is like a welcoming area. The second floor will be the planning area." She explained she was shopping for the building.
He grinned, "do you still have money? I saw all the stuff you bought for the houses. Do we even have enough houses for that much furniture?"
She chuckled, "Yes. As I stated, I was working on the perimeter. In this case, I decided I want Row A done before we leave. At the very least, the furniture in them and we can set them up later but that would mean we can do the lighting in the cleared area but then start it on the other end. He's using Max so he'll be safe."
Dobin nodded then started placing things in accordance with her instructions as she entered codes and furniture started appearing. There were two couches that were rounded so they fit nicely against the wall. They each had a table to place in front of them. There were two desks down here, two for the offices upstairs. They each had three chairs. The one near the couches would have the faction system on it. The other would have the system linked to the communications system.
Shalt helped Dobin place things and it was soon done. It looked barren and Lana forgot chairs to go with the bigger table but she'd worry about that later. She wanted to place the last of those houses and head to bed. Row A would be built tonight. They would leave after lunch tomorrow. It would give her time to get more done before leaving, extending the line the hanger was on.
The next morning, she was told the houses she bought furniture for were all set up. She was shocked but happy. She planned to buy furniture for the last 6 she did the night before and leave the new ones she did today for when they returned.
They all ate breakfast and the hanger crew declared themselves done. They asked if they could help with furniture again today and Lana then understood how they got all that done last night.
Lana explained she was planning to furnish some today and the rest next week but if they really wanted to help, she'd go ahead and buy it all and their help was greatly appreciated.
There were smiles and words of encouragement all around so she stopped by the command post and made the purchases before starting her build. They followed her so they could move things around as the furniture all came through.
Lana then built 1P-1S as well as 2P, 3P, 2R and 3R. She then went to sleep in her ship, making sure to let Dobin know. When next they come, they get to park in their hanger. The ships were even already coded to be able to park in the hanger rather than a visitors dock.
The wall team worked until lunch, ate then checked on the furniture crew. They were almost done so they got their things and loaded their ship. Lana's was going straight to the Crow planet. The other going straight to the ship. Once her ship was unloaded, Shalt would use the remote to send it to Dobin who would bring everyone back. Shalt would watch for them so he could use the remote to send it back. One more week down. Shalt was amazed at what this girl was capable of.
