General Sach stood up with his hand outstretched, "that would be me. I don't believe we met. I'm General Sach."
She offered her hand as well, "Lana Plantwell. When I purchased my planet from Oscar, I had a deal with him that he was to protect my planet from the dalki… for 3 years from the time the contract was signed." Lana took a deep breath, "I need to inform you that portion of the contract must now be changed. Now that Ruby's settlement is emptied out, there are to be no unauthorized off-worlders on my planet."
Lana handed him a card, "this is the line to the command post, the information on the back will get you to me. I am the leader of the Plantwell Family and we have signed on to be under the Cursed Faction. We will be okay."
Mona spoke up, "Lana, it could be a little premature to make such a move. These dalki are very strong."
Lana nodded, "I know. We will be okay. I won't be able to contribute any forces to Quinn during any further fights so we can protect our home just in case. On that same note, while I have everyone, I have built a secret shelter. It's underground and can hold 500 people. Its purpose is to safeguard your people. I had Logan create a teleporter. I have the one in the settlement put together but where should I put the other? I was thinking here on the ship?"
Quinn nodded, "that should be good for now."
Lana nodded. She looked at Mona, "do I need to stay a bit longer? You look so happy."
Mona sighed, "I don't get enough time with them. Just a little longer?"
Lana chuckled and nodded, she then gave the same card to Mona so she could reach her when she wanted. She also gave one to Grim to give to Owen in case he ever wanted to talk to her, though she thought that was unlikely.
Lana just leaned against the wall, not wanting to sit in these chairs with her wings because it wasn't a good fit for her. Sach congratulated Quinn on beating the 5-spike known as Slicer even though it was the Blades that ended the fight, Quinn just assisted. Owen was pleased to learn Mona was alive, shocked, in fact.
Eno took the lead, informing everyone the war was a trap, to distract them while the vampire that is related to him attacks Blade Island to get the beast that lived there. Owen suggested killing the beast and Mona practically laughed at him. Quinn informed the group that the demon-tier beast on Blade Island was a priority. Logan informed everyone that travel was an issue. The dalki were jamming teleporters but he had engineered an anti-jammer device.
"We can use the device to travel to the island when the time comes."
Owen liked the idea. Eno and Mona were to travel to Blade Island and set up the teleporter. Quinn would send Nate as well so he could use his shadow travel.
"Quinn, I have a question. Would it be of benefit if I travel to different planets and take down some more mother ships?"
Quinn immediately replied, "NO." He took a breath, "when I was taking them down, they noticed a pattern. I don't want to expose my methods but I was caught. You've taken down two which is more than I ever expected. Just focus on your family and defending your planet. Leave the rest to us."
Lana nodded. She heard murmurings about her actions but she ignored them. She discovered sometimes these meetings were not a waste of time.
Sam brought up the Chained as many were still on Caladi. Quinn said they should be returned to their families. Lana volunteered to escort Grim home. Quinn once again told her to take care of her planet. "Fine. Can Dobin take him home?"
Quinn chuckled, "okay, fine. If you insist. Make sure you take safety precautions!"
Lana nodded, "of course. You do know my ship was modified by Logan, right?"
It was then General Nathan's turn to speak. Apparently, the decision to attack previously was made by Oscar who thought the humans were vampires working for the dalki. They thought the planet was being taken over by the dalki. He explained the shelter was humans that had been abandoned when the planet changed designations. The humans had been freed. Ruby then put Oscar's demon-tier sword on the table. Much discussion ensued and it was finally decided the sword would go to the Cursed Faction. Quinn, specifically. The Board would have a problem with it so a plan was devised to make it look like Samantha was giving it to Quinn herself.
With the last decision made, Lana informed Owen, Grim would be heading his way soon. He told her he was looking forward to it. She nodded to Grim and they left as the others were talking a bit more and getting ready to do the things planned.
Lana chuckled to herself as they were walking back to the teleporter. Mona was sure attached to her babies. It made her wonder if Mona ever had babies of her own. She knew that sometimes women needed to trade power and family. She may have had to sacrifice having one to have her Bree Family.
This made her reflect on her and Sil. She knew he had to take care of all of his family but she was feeling like she was on the back burner. She also understood she was pregnant and perhaps that was why she was feeling the way she was.
"It seems the Cursed Leader is a bit protective of you. Do you know him well?"
Lana chuckled, "we went to school together and his best friend is my husband. My last pregnancy was a bit insufferable with the level of protection I was given." She chuckled.
Grim also chuckled, "do you think this one will be any different?"
Lana nodded, "yes. I will be on my planet most of the time and my family knows I'm not that fragile. My husband is busy helping Quinn with the war effort and getting stronger so we don't see him as much as we'd like."
"That must get lonely."
Lana nodded, "it can." They were now going through her teleporter to head home. "Let's go find Dobin and have him get you home. Shalt, do you mind going with him as well? You know my ship better. There will likely be dalki out there repositioning themselves. Stay hidden, and report anything you notice.
Shalt nodded, "of course.
