Chapter 4 - Chapter four

The next day, Julian tried to avoid everyone in the house, some of the people who she unfortunately came across gave her strange looks and threw harsh comments at her but she was completely indifferent about this, ignoring their words and trying not to act on her emotions.

She knew that something was brewing and decided to go with the flow of things. She spent the day in her son's room, telling him stories and playing with him, she only left when she had to get breakfast and lunch for the both of them which led to encounters with Williams's cousins.

"Look who's here?" A young boy in his teens laughed boisterously and extended his arm out, blocking Julian as she was stepping out of the kitchen. "So you are Julian, my cousin's wife?" His tone was condescending.

"I am. Liam A good dog doesn't block the path, if there's nothing else, please step aside."

"How dare you speak to me that way, you are nothing but my family's servant." Liam leaned forward, wanting to mock her more but this was his mistake.

Julian grabbed one of Liam's wrist, and pulled him towards her with all of her might, with her other hand, she placed the switchblade she was holding on Liam's neck, the blade was sharp enough to cause a lot of damage if Julian slightly moved her hand.

"Wha-what ar-are are you do-doing?" Liam's face was filled with fear, he felt the cold blade on his neck and instantly lost the ability to speak clearly.

"What do you think I'm doing? If I just mistakenly lose control, I could slash your neck and cause you to bleed." Julian coldly whispered to him..

"No- le-let me go." Liam started pleading, he didn't want to lose his life. At this moment, Ruby Scout, Julian's mother in law appeared and Liam screamed like his life depended on it. "Aunt!!"

"What the hell are you doing bastard?! Drop the knife this instant!" Ruby ordered, there was a flicker of fear in her eyes and her voice was a little shaky. No doubt that she was scared too.

Julian involuntarily pushed Liam away. "I would not be so merciful next time." Her tone was frigid.

As soon as he was released, Liam instantly rushed behind Ruby. "Aunt, she tried to kill me. She is dangerous." He could still feel the cold blade against his neck and touched his neck a few times for any injury. Liam shuddered at how close he was to death.

"How dare you try to hurt my nephew? Have you gone nuts!"

"Mother-"

"Do not call me mother! I don't have a daughter like you. You are nothing but a lowlife living off my family."

"I apologize." Julian said.

Fearing that she might do the worst with the blade that she was still holding, Ruby grabbed Liam by the hand and left. Before leaving, Liam glared at Julian, placing his hand against his neck and dragging it across. This was an open threat but Julian was not bothered.

"Aunt, are we just going to let her keep living here, what if she tries to harm me again?" Liam complained as soon as they were out of Julian's sight.

"she wouldn't, you don't have to worry. Let Williams return, that lowlife would be out of here faster than she could spell her name." She patted his head as she reassured him. "she must have given you such a fright, don't worry, Auntie would make it up to you." Liam was her sister's son and favorite nephew so she treated him like her son, pampering him like a son so she was worried that he might have been traumatized by Julian's actions.

Williams didn't return to the house until the next evening, he was brimming with happiness, an expression that has been lost from his face for the past five years. The smile on his face completely disappeared when he found out about what Julian had done to Liam. Liam had twisted the story, changing black to white, making himself look like the victim.

Of course Williams believed him, before he could even go looking for her, Julian appeared before him and he slapped her. "How dare you! How dare you raise your filthy hand on my cousin? Are you crazy?" he yelled at her.

Julian didn't react to the slap, she was already expecting his outburst that was the reason she stepped out of her son's room, she didn't want him to witness such a scene. "I think you should ask your cousin what truly happened?" she threw a glance at Liam who was standing close by, Liam shrunk backwards, trying to reduce his presence.

Williams's voice had caused the rest of the family to gather, his grandfather had shown up with an indifferent expression on his face, his cousins and aunt appeared as they didn't want to miss such drama and his parents were there to support him.

"Irrespective of what he had done, you shouldn't have held a knife to his neck, what if you mistakenly hurt him? How can you be so heartless!"

"Me? Heartless? Says the man who treats his own son like his enemy and flirts around despite the fact that he's married, "you don't have any right to lecture me, you are not qualified."

Her words stung him but he cast it aside and brought out a document, pushing it at her. "Sign it," At first glance, the words DIVORCE AGREEMENT was boldly written and at the end of it, Williams's signature could be seen. "Don't worry you get to keep that spawn of yours." he was referring to Jason.

Upon hearing that, Julian was slightly relieved, Jason was the most important person to her and she didn't want to relinquish custody of him knowing that he won't be taken care of by the Scout family. She didn't waste any more time and immediately signed the document.

"Now, get out of my house.. immediately."
