Chapter 12 - What Jack Became

Jack and Antony pulled out their guns quickly.

Slowly, the shadow became shorter and shorter.

Jack pushed Jon back. "Jon, hide."

The monster charged at Antony, punching him to unconsciousness with a heavy thud. Antony hit the floor hard, out cold.

Jack shot the gun at its eyes, bangs echoing loudly.

Jack punched the monster, grabbed an iron stand, and stabbed it in. The eye regenerated slowly, flesh knitting.

Jack tied the stabbed iron stand to a heavy table with his belt, pulling it tight.

It punched Jack as it got eyesight back. Even if it was a monster, it had a little familiar face of the missing kid.

Jack flew back with that punch, crashing into shelves. But the monster was in pain because of the iron stub in its guts, trying to pull it off, roaring low.

Jack jumped up, grabbed the spirit labelled bottles from the shelf and threw them at it, then fired it with the gas lighter. Flames whooshed up.

The monster roared from pain, burning fire all over its body. It rushed blindly at Jack, but the iron tied to the table slowed it down. Jack got a chain there, twisted it around his fist, and punched it in its burning face, locking its teeth down with a crack.

Jon peeped from behind a table, eyes wide, watching the fight fascinated, seeing Jack's superhuman strength.

Jack beat it up, dodging its punches with quick steps.

The monster roared in frustration, hearing the sound of helicopters up high, rotors thumping closer.

It tried to escape, grabbing Jon by the collar, lifting him.

Jack lost the chain and threw it around the monster, making it drop Jon.

Jack was tired, breathing hard, with many injuries and bleeding.

The monster bit Jack on the hand and ran away. The helicopter chased that monster, lights beaming down.

Jon looked at Jack, whose face was pale.

Jack winced, holding his hand. "Are you ok?"

Jon pointed shakily. "It bites you. You are going to become a monster soon."

Jack looked at his hand, realising. He grabbed a piece of glass and stabbed it in his neck, trying to kill himself.

Blood poured down like a fountain.

But Jack's eyes turned red already. His ears turned pointy. He was losing himself. Nails growing. Nose twisted like a bat's. Brown hair is growing all over the body. Legs turning like an animal's.

Jon scrambled to get the gun and shoot Jack, but it was too late.

Jack in monster form was more fearsome than any other monster.

Jack jumped out the window, glass shattering, and disappeared into the bush, leaving Jon and Antony there.

On the other side of, borders of Nikale woods, the other monster started its hunt.
