Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Boy and the Beast

The sun burned gold over the farmlands of Windcrest Village.Sweat dripped down Lior's brow as he swung his rake into the soil. The wind was soft, the world quiet — until the faint giggle of a tiny creature perched on his shoulder broke the silence.

"Valkie, don't splash me again," Lior chuckled as his small blue-water sprite formed a droplet crown on his head.

"Splish!" it squeaked mischievously.

In a world where people could wield Fire, Water, Earth, or Air magic, Lior was… an outlier. He couldn't burn trees or raise stones. His magic summoned small creatures like Valkie — cute, weak, and utterly useless in a fight.

But to him, they were family.

That evening, his mother asked him to fetch more firewood. He took his hatchet and went deep into the forest, where mist clung to the ground. That's when he heard it — a thunderous snort that made the air tremble.

A Minotaur — three meters tall, with blood-red eyes and a double-headed axe.

Lior froze. His heart pounded. His small summons vanished in fear. The beast roared, charging at him.

"Think, Lior… think!"

He dodged, rolled under a fallen tree, and baited the beast toward a pit he had used for trapping wild boars. When the Minotaur stumbled, he rammed his rake through its chest — pure desperation and instinct.

When it fell, the forest went silent.

Shaking, he dragged his firewood home, greeted by his mother's worried tears. That night, he checked his status crystal — something had changed. His mana had expanded tenfold.

The next morning, when he called out for Valkie to water the crops, the sky darkened. A pillar of water rose before him — a full-grown Valkyrie in azure armor, holding a staff of tides.

"My name… is Aqua," she said, her voice echoing like the sea.

And as her staff touched the ground, rain began to fall across the entire continent.

Lior stared in awe as his status window glowed.
