Looking at the guy in front of him—wrapped up so tightly—Sandy couldn't help but wonder, isn't this guy fell hot in that costume?
Also… that face. That very punchable face. A thick beard, snot dripping down, and an aura that just screamed "Hit me."
The first impression that flashed through Sandy's mind was simple: this guy's an imbecile.
Or maybe even mentally challenged.
That snot-dripping idiot was none other than a Celestial Dragon—a so-called descendant of the Creator God, someone who enjoyed supreme power.
His name was Charloss Saint, the same bastard who would get punched by Straw Hat Luffy a year later.
Charloss Saint glared at the man standing in front of him. Not only had Sandy not knelt down upon seeing him, but the way Sandy was looking at him made him feel utterly insulted.
Charloss Saint, his face twisting in rage, shouted in disbelief,
"You… you low-class commoner! How dare you stand before me like that? Kneel before this Saint! I'll feed you to the pet I bought from the auction yesterday!"
The hell is this guy even saying?
Sandy's annoyance peaked. Without hesitation, he slapped Charloss Saint right across the face.
What he didn't expect was for the idiot to slam into the wall and faint on the spot.
Coming back to his senses, Sandy immediately remembered who he had just hit.
A Celestial Dragon.
No wonder the guy was so damn arrogant.
Looking down at the unconscious fool, Sandy knew he had to get the hell out of there. Because in this world, the consequences of punching a Celestial Dragon were deadly serious.
Marine Headquarters would send an Admiral. And Sandy wasn't stupid enough to think he could outrun that.
He stopped after a few steps. There should be guards outside, right?
Right now, aside from this idiot, no one else had seen his face. If he ran fast enough, he might just make it.
The desire to survive kicked in fast. Sandy thought of the Space Devil Fruit.
"Open up—bah…"
He spat a thick glob of phlegm right on Charloss Saint's face before leaving.
After all, he'd already hit him. If he didn't spit on him, how could he live up to his own handsome self—and his kind and handsome readers?
"Space Field."
A spherical bubble expanded from Sandy's palm, wrapping around the bathroom wall. With a spatial shift, Sandy disappeared from the room, reappearing outside. Then, he ran.
He headed toward the coast. Once the Marines discovered Charloss Saint had been attacked, the Sabaody Archipelago would be blockaded.
If that idiot ever recognized his face, things would get ugly fast.
Trying to avoid the crowds, Sandy noticed a tall, elegant woman approaching from a distance.
That was Boa Hancock, the world's most beautiful woman and one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
Sandy knew her story. With her pride and temper, there was no way she'd quietly allow the Navy to search her ship. He felt it was necessary to give this beauty a heads-up.
Hancock and her two sisters looked at the young man running toward them, confused. Sandy ignored their stares and spoke quickly:
"A Celestial Dragon's been knocked out cold. The island's going to be locked down soon. You'd better leave."
Saying it all in one breath, Sandy sprinted off toward the coast.
Upon hearing "Celestial Dragon," Hancock and her sisters froze in fear, their expressions shifting to disbelief.
Someone actually dared to hit a Celestial Dragon?
Hancock stammered,
"That man… just said…"
The green-haired sister reacted first.
"Sister, let's set sail quickly. We can find him later."
Hancock was still stunned as her sisters dragged her away.
Sandy, who had made it to the coast, used his ability to board a large ship that had just set sail.
Unfortunately for him… this wasn't just any ship.
It was a Marine warship.
A dog-head Marine flag fluttered on the mast.
On the deck, Vice Admiral Garp was chatting with Admiral Aokiji when both of them suddenly sensed someone boarding their ship.
What kind of idiot dares sneak aboard a warship?
As Garp moved, the surrounding Marines snapped into action.
He approached with curiosity and asked,
"Kid, who are you? How the hell did you get onto my ship?"
A drop of sweat rolled down Sandy's forehead. Of course, he recognized Garp.
But he quickly calmed himself. Garp had no idea he'd hit a Celestial Dragon, and the old man was known for being righteous and not extreme.
Sandy replied,
"Me? My name's Sleep God. I was being chased by human traffickers, so I panicked and hid here."
"Sleep God? God?" Garp gave him a dangerous look.
You couldn't really blame Sandy. Back in school, his friends had always called him that.
After all, he'd sleep through lectures, dream during class, and… cough cough… not important.
Cold sweat dripped down his temple. He quickly explained,
"My name is Storm D. Sandy."
Garp's brows twitched. A D? Great. Just what he needed—trouble. People with that initial were never simple.
Sandy scratched the back of his head.
"Vice Admiral Garp, you can just call me Sandy. Mind giving me a ride?"
Garp was momentarily stunned. Most people trembled when meeting him. This kid just greeted him like a neighbor. Interesting.
Garp nodded. Sandy took the chance to walk onto the deck and said,
"Vice Admiral Garp, could I have a glass of water? I was chased all the way here. I'm dying of thirst."
Aokiji, lying on a chair, frowned.
Was this brat ignoring me completely?
And that drink… was his. He hadn't even touched it yet.
Sandy, of course, noticed Aokiji. But he also knew Aokiji wasn't the kind of man to kill without reason. Plus, after everything in the bathroom, he was thirsty as hell. So, he chugged the drink down in one go.
Aokiji sat up, pulling off his eye mask.
"Ara ara… I say, young man, shouldn't you at least ask before drinking someone else's tea?"
Sandy let out a satisfied sigh, smiled, and replied,
"Admiral Aokiji, thank you for the tea. My bad—I was really thirsty. How about I make you another cup?"
Aokiji blinked. So polite?
He waved his hand lazily.
"Forget it. I'm not thirsty. By the way, your name's Sandy, right?"
Sandy nodded quickly.
"Yes, yes, respected Admiral!"
Garp couldn't help but laugh.
"Hahaha… You're a funny kid."
He plopped down beside Sandy, slapping a hand on his shoulder.
"By the way, kid, how did you get on this ship?"
