[Next function is {Quests}. As the name suggests, these are quests for the host to complete in order to receive rewards. Most quests will be issued only with the host's permission and will mainly affect the host's internal growth or development.]
[The focus of the quests will be on the host's personal growth rather than external interactions with the world.]
"So there won't be any quests like 'kill enemies' or something?" I asked as the system explained the quest function. It became clear that these quests were meant to help me grow, not push me into danger.
This kind of quest suited me perfectly. I wasn't the type to go looking for trouble, and I'd rather avoid danger whenever possible.
[Yes. There will not be any quests that force the host to take actions against their will.]
[Next, the {Shop} function allows the host to purchase anything—from everyday items to advanced gear suited for this world. Items such as advanced armor and weapons will be made available for purchase using real money.]
A shop tab opened in front of me. It looked exactly like an online shopping website. I could browse through all kinds of things—fruits, vegetables, cooked food, modern and ancient weapons like swords and rifles.
But the prices… were ridiculously high.
[All the basic information has been provided. The system AI will now go offline for a while. Good luck, host.]
With that, the system window disappeared, leaving only the shop tab open in front of me.
"Hey, wait! I still have several questions! System… hello? Are you there?"
Despite calling several times, there was no response.
[One last function remains: {Inventory}. It functions like any other inventory system, but only items purchased from the shop can be stored here. It has no limit.]
[Now, goodbye again, host.]
"What the hell?! Again? You can't just come and go like that without explaining anything!" I shouted, half in frustration, half in disbelief.
The sudden reappearance and disappearance of the AI gave me the feeling that it was always active—just messing with me.
I didn't dwell too much on its rude behavior and began checking all the functions it had explained. With simple commands like [Open Status], the status panel appeared, and the same went for all the other functions. After a quick overview, I closed all the system tabs.
"Well, now… let's think about what to do next."
It was now clear that I was in the world of My Hero Academia—and with a system, at that. It was like a dream come true. The system wasn't overpowered from the start, but honestly, that's what I wanted.
Slowly becoming overpowered—that was the dream of every anime fan, wasn't it?
Still, I wasn't ignorant of the dangers this world held. I had watched the anime up until the part where All For One returned, so I knew what Japan's future would look like. Thankfully, that was still far away. Hopefully, by then, I'd be strong enough to face it.
I had several goals in mind for this world apart from becoming strong—but for now, I'd leave those for later.
Right now, I should focus on the present. I've been given a second chance… I should at least make something out of it and live fully.
As I thought more about the future, I could feel my body waking up, my consciousness shifting from my inner world back to my physical body.
I didn't know how it worked, but in that inner world—if I could call it that—I appeared as my adult self rather than a baby.
At least that was something.
