The official tests had begun, starting with the 50-meter dash.
Thanks to Yukino's light, agile frame, she ran with remarkable ease. Weighing less than fifty kilograms and with legs capable of over 200 kilograms of force, she managed to clock in at 5.02 seconds relying purely on raw physical power.
That already placed her at the class average.
"That girl…" All Might, lurking nearby and observing the scene, shifted his gaze from Izuku Midoriya to Rin Hayami. "Looks like that training wasn't wasted. She's put in effort far beyond ordinary people to achieve these results… I hope young Midoriya can perform just as well."
The second event: grip strength.
"Let's see what you've got."
Taking the dynamometer, Rin inhaled deeply and squeezed with all her might.
The meter shot up, quickly surpassing 100 kilograms, finally stabilizing at 164.
164 kilograms.
"Exactly as expected—this is Yukino's current strength."
Her physical abilities were now far beyond what her outward appearance suggested. Normally, anyone capable of a hundred-kilogram grip would be a walking mountain of muscle. Yet Yukino retained her slender frame.
Next was the standing long jump.
Rin managed 4.6 meters—slightly lower than her previous feats but still impressive.
Then came the lateral jumps, hopping back and forth between two lines. Frankly, this event seemed almost comically pointless. Who cared about hopping from side to side?
After that, especially the seated forward bend, she faced virtually no difficulty. Yukino's flexibility was almost superhuman; she bent to the maximum angle effortlessly, claiming first place in that event.
Meanwhile, Midoriya, who had struggled with the softball throw due to ONE FOR ALL's raw power, received an immediate lecture from Aizawa.
"Your quirk is strong, yes, but you risk crippling your own arms. When you can't move, do you expect someone else to save you?"
"Actions that hurt yourself as much as your opponent will never make a true hero."
Stimulated by Aizawa's words, Midoriya focused ONE FOR ALL's power into his fingers, managing to throw the softball over 700 meters without sustaining serious injury.
"Hmm… classic protagonist move," Rin thought, silently impressed.
Midoriya's courage and determination could create miracles at any moment. Perhaps that was exactly why All Might had chosen him.
It was clear, however, that Bakugo wasn't happy with Midoriya's performance. He immediately charged forward to confront him, only to be restrained by Aizawa's capture cloth and scolded in the process.
The tests continued without interruption.
Once all events were complete, Aizawa yawned lazily and addressed the class.
"Alright, let's announce the results. Total scores are simple—the sum of all events. Explaining each one individually would be a waste of time, so I'll display them all at once."
He pressed a button, and a projection appeared midair, showing the rankings.
Rin quickly spotted herself in 10th place—just as she expected. And Midoriya, unsurprisingly, was at the very bottom.
Thinking of Aizawa's earlier words, Midoriya clenched his fists, face pale with frustration, unwilling to accept what seemed like the fate of expulsion.
A few moments later, Aizawa calmly shut off the projector.
"By the way, expulsion was a bluff," he said, a faintly mocking expression appearing on his face. "It's just a necessary illusion to maximize your quirk potential."
"Huh???" Several students reacted in disbelief.
The classroom remained frozen for a moment before Aizawa slouched and walked toward a distant building.
Passing Midoriya, he paused briefly to advise: "Midoriya, go to the nurse's office and get your injuries fixed. Everyone else—once back, review the course materials thoroughly."
With that, he disappeared from view.
The room was silent for a short while before the usual chatter resumed.
Tooru Hagakure cheerfully ran up to Rin. "Rin-chan, shall we head back to the classroom together?"
"Sure," Rin replied, letting Tooru take her left hand.
Perhaps because it was the first day, there weren't any particularly important lessons scheduled. Starting tomorrow, mornings would mostly be academic classes, with hero-related practical lessons in the afternoon.
At the moment, Rin found herself utterly bored.
She was in English class.
The teacher, Present Mic—who had hosted the entrance exam—stood energetically at the front, passionately explaining while the students struggled to follow.
Ironically, Rin's personal English skills were terrible; she understood almost nothing. But in Yukino's body, she was fluent and competent, easily answering questions—justifying her perfect 30 points for the subject.
"Ugh, this is boring. Might as well nap."
She propped a pen on her forehead, pretending to take notes while already drifting off to sleep.
Zz~Zz
"Student over there! Stand up and answer the question on the board!"
Thud!
Something hit her forehead, jolting her awake.
"Huh? What the—"
She lifted her head to see the entire class staring at her, while Present Mic waited expectantly, pointing at the board.
"Alright, this grammar point is…"
Yukino-Rin confidently gave the correct answer without hesitation.
The class erupted into applause immediately.
"Amazing! I didn't understand a single word," Ochaco Uraraka exclaimed, covering her mouth in disbelief.
"Wait, this is beyond the syllabus! Present Mic said we don't need to know this yet. How did you even answer it?" Kirishima genuinely looked stunned.
Even Tenya Iida, who had always been diligent and graduated from a top junior high, felt a sudden wave of pressure. Rin's performance in academics was undeniably flawless.
"So tired… can I go back to sleep now?" After answering, Rin yawned, resettled herself, and once again propped her pen on her forehead, drifting back into her nap.
Tooru Hagakure stared, flabbergasted. "Rin-chan really hasn't changed at all… I still don't know how she even got first place."
