In New York, the alien invasion continued to escalate.
In less than half an hour.
Even the urban areas ten kilometers away now had alien robots appearing frequently, making it easy to imagine how intense the battle was at the center of the conflict.
On the outskirts of the battlefield.
Bang!!
A young man, wearing a baseball cap that covered half his face and a jacket, swung on a web, plummeting rapidly. The moment his body hit the ground, he followed up with a punch, immediately knocking down an alien robot on the street!
Crack!!
Several tons of force converged in that punch, shattering and piercing the alien robot's chest, and even cracking the ground it lay on with several fissures!
Watching the sparks crackle on the robot's shattered body, Vincent exhaled a cloud of hot air, his bright eyes looking up at the sky towards the central battle zone.
The blue light beam causing the alien invasion was still active, emanating a strong, despair-inducing glow.
Even if the blue light beam could be shut down now, the alien forces that had descended into New York were already fully established.
New York might really be completely overrun today!
"I've pretty much mastered my Super Spider abilities; it's time to find Gwen." Vincent felt a sense of urgency. If the city of New York was truly on the verge of falling, he feared that even before New York completely gave up resistance, the politicians and generals outside would have already abandoned New York.
Vincent was about to leave when he suddenly saw the ruins of a bombed-out, collapsed residential building nearby. On the sole surviving half of a metal gate, an address was faintly hanging.
Originally, it was just an unintentional glance, but for some reason, Vincent found the address incredibly familiar.
Where had he seen it recently?
Vincent's mind jolted. He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. The address written on it was exactly the same as the one he was looking at!
A silver-haired figure flashed through his mind.
"Pietro!" Vincent quickly rushed to the front of the building ruins and shouted inside.
No one responded.
This was natural; the entire house had collapsed, and the surroundings were full of scorched bombing marks. Pietro and his family had likely evacuated long ago.
If he was truly still inside, then by now, there was basically no chance of survival.
Vincent fell silent. He placed his hand on a stone in the pile of building rubble, closed his eyes, and used his current extraordinary Super Spider senses to carefully perceive... Beneath the ruins, in the crevices of shattered houses and furniture debris, it was pitch black.
Everything around her was inanimate.
The only surviving girl lay motionless in the crevices of the ruins, unable to perceive any light or sound from the outside, only hearing her own faint breathing and heartbeat.
Even the air was thin.
What it felt like to wait for death alone, the girl truly experienced. Her only small comfort was that her twin brother was not home before the house was bombed.
The girl's consciousness began to blur.
Crack!
Had she misheard?
Suddenly, the girl awoke with a start, forcing her eyes open, vaguely hearing the sound of something being moved outside.
"I'm here..." The girl opened her mouth, wanting to shout, but she was too weak, her voice so small as to be almost inaudible.
But the moving sound became increasingly clear, as if the person knew the girl was there.
Until—
A brilliant ray of light shone in from outside. The girl's eyes widened, and what entered her sight was the gentle face of a young man... Vincent forcibly moved aside the rubble, and saw that deep within the crevices, a red-haired girl had survived.
Perhaps 'loli' would be a more fitting description?
The girl, around thirteen years old, was wearing a winter dress, covered in dirty dust.
Vincent didn't mind. He carefully picked up the girl and asked, "What's your name?"
"Wanda..." the red-haired girl said weakly.
"You must be Pietro's sister," Vincent realized.
"Sister?" Little Wanda was startled at first. In Vincent's arms, she was like an injured rabbit. Finally, she nodded timidly and asked softly, "Who... are you?"
"Vincent Prince. I met Pietro last night. I don't know if he mentioned me," Vincent said.
"He did..." Little Wanda stared blankly at Vincent, not expecting that the person her brother spoke of yesterday would save her life today.
"Pietro isn't home, is he?" Vincent asked for confirmation.
"He isn't." Little Wanda shook her head with effort, then suddenly realized something, staring directly at Vincent, struggling to look around: "My parents..."
"I'm sorry."
Vincent felt he shouldn't hide it from the girl. He looked into her eyes and said directly, "When I was searching just now, they were found first. They have already lost their vital signs."
Wanda's body trembled violently.
Actually, when the girl was buried in the ruins just now, not hearing any sound, she had vaguely had this thought.
Now that it was confirmed, Wanda's will finally gave out, and she closed her eyes and fainted.
Vincent looked down at the unconscious Wanda, holding her a little tighter.
He could understand that a girl of this age, suddenly losing both parents, would certainly be unable to bear such immense grief all at once.
And today, not only Wanda's family lost loved ones; countless families in New York were destined to be torn apart.
Vincent sighed, just about to leave with Wanda in his arms to take her to a relatively safe area on the city's outskirts.
But, an unexpected event occurred!
Thump-thump!
One, two, three... six!
A total of six alien robots descended from the sky, landing in a surrounding formation around the ruins, encircling Vincent, who was holding the girl on the rubble!
In addition, several small alien spacecraft hovered at low altitude, eyeing Vincent below like tigers watching their prey!
"Are they coming for me?" Vincent's eyes grew cold. These alien robots were clearly communicating with each other. Because he had continuously taken down some alien robots on the outskirts of the battlefield earlier, they had now clearly sent more alien forces to concentrate on encircling and annihilating him.
Alien enemies were both in the sky and on the ground... If he were alone, even with his Super Spider abilities, it would be somewhat difficult.
Moreover, he was currently holding an unconscious girl, making it difficult to act.
"I can only break through." Vincent was about to break out, but very quickly, he noticed something strongly amiss!
The alien robots on the ground holding firearms and the spacecraft hovering at low altitude were all motionless, as if they had crashed—no, it should be said that a mysterious and powerful force had dominated their bodies!
Unable to move a single inch!
Crack-crack!!
First, the head of one alien robot autonomously twisted three hundred and sixty degrees, with crackling electricity flowing from its neck. Then, the heads of the other alien robots followed suit. Not only were the alien robots self-destructing, but in the air, the components of the small alien spacecraft began to tear apart and disintegrate one by one.
Clang-clang!!
The alien mechanical forces that could have threatened Super Spider Vincent, before even attacking, went into self-destruction in a dead silence, turning into piles of scrap metal and falling onto the ruined ground!
His Super Spider abilities were warning him intensely!
Vincent quickly turned around with Wanda in his arms, and saw another green-haired girl with smoky eye makeup, walking towards him from behind, stepping on scattered metal parts.
"Hi, little brother."
Lorna, with her usual wildness from their first meeting, waved and greeted Vincent, green glow emanating from her fair, slender hands!
