Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Keeping up with the Waynes part 2

The night after his fight with the Russian and Italian mob was tiresome, even if he had managed to defeat the thirty goons in the yacht he felt bruised, being Batman wasn't easy ten years ago and it wasn't getting easier now, even if he sometimes had Dick and Barbara's help.

Alfred always told him he was getting old to die a young man, he thought it was funny his caretaker musings, but after that night he just wanted to come home and rest, he shed his bat suit and left it on the cave and went to sleep, but as soon as his head reach the softness of the pillow Harry woke up and began crying for attention, Bruce grumbled and hold the baby in his arms beginning to rocking him.

His muscles were burning, his back was hurting and he was probably bruised from everywhere but seeing the little boy falling asleep in his arms was worth it. When Harry finally manage to fall asleep he placed him in his bed and laid next to his infant son and slept peacefully.

--

Dick brushed his teeth and "combed" his hair, in actuality he just stylized it to be as disheveled as he wanted, he hated the "good boy look" Bruce and Alfred gave him when he was younger, he looked like a dork, now he looked like a cool dude.

"You look like a dork" The voice of his younger sister Cass came from the frame of the door.

"Shut it Chun Li, I'm cool, Kori says it" Dick defended himself

"Of course she thinks it's cool, she's an alien, she doesn't know human customs" She smirked at the annoyed face his older brother made.

"Don't you have somewhere else to be?" Dick asked her.

"No, I live here so I only have my older brothers to bother" She answered before hurrying out of the room and hiding in the bathroom.

"Prat!" Dick yelled at her as she ran, then after a few moments of silence he heard Cass' voice yelling in response "DICK!" Which he hated since she used his name as an insult.

--

Tim and Steph were reading in Tim's room they had been ready for school ages ago and now they were waiting for their siblings, the duo often read the same book almost at the same time so that they could prove who was the best reader between them.

They often heard the yelling matches between Cass and Dick it was amusing most of the times but sometimes it was just plain ridiculous.

"Sometimes I wonder who is more of a kid Dick or Cass" Steph asked Tim without looking away from her book.

"Dick should be the most matured since he is the oldest, instead he keeps looking for trouble" Tim responded her.

"That's true but he still behaves like a five year old most of the times" Steph replied.

--

Jason was getting sick of their shenanigans, he had returned from his morning run when he heard the discussion between them, when will his older brother would mature? He couldn't wait for leaving high school and enter the University and leave this mad house away, maybe be a lone hero instead of the shadow of Batman.

--

After breakfast Bruce loaded the van with the kids and proceeded to take them to their respective schools, Gotham Junior High and Gotham High.

Dick almost ran away from his family, it was too often that the radio station on the car was being replaced with selected child music for the youngest of the Wayne, so as soon as he stepped out of the vehicle he saw his friends standing in the school entrance, there was his orange skinned red-haired girlfriend Kori Anders, his sometimes other girlfriend other times best female friend the redhead Barbara Gordon, another redhead being his other best friend Kate Kane, "I should really start looking for more diverse company" Dick thought to himself as he looked at Carrie Kelly his nerdy but good intended friend, and the fourth redhead in his group, and his best male friend the school's quarterback Victor Stone.

"Victory Stone!" Dick yelled at his friend

"Dickus Grayson" The tall African American responded making the girls laugh and Dick to flip him off before laughing as well.

"How you doin' ladies?" Dick asked his lady friends to which made them roll their eyes.

"Grow up Grayson" Kate responded

"What's wrong with that catchphrase?" He asked in the defensive

"It's so retro, it doesn't suit you" Carrie added.

"Babs, Kori, do you think that?" Dick asked the girls who hadn't spoken against him only to see them nodding which made the young Grayson stare in shock

"Anyway we shouldn't be wasting time, we've got class to go to" Barbara said changing topics "I hope you've made your homework" She said

"Who do you take us for? We always make homework" Kate responded almost offended.

"Just checking out" Barbara responded

"You can check me out any time Babs" Kate responded smirking

"I wouldn't mind seeing that" Victor answered

"You perv" Kate smirked as she smack him in the arm making the big guy laugh.

Class continued as always, without much troubles, Victor went to his football practice as Carrie and Dick went to their art class, Barbara to her computer club and Kate and Kori to the cheerleader practices. All in all a very common day for the eldest of the Wayne.

--

Jason hated school he didn't enjoyed being the younger and not popular brother of the charismatic and top student Dick Grayson, he only felt alive whenever he used the suit, but being in a mundane school with teenager who didn't knew the worst things that could happen to a person was awful, teens who didn't understood the real struggles a person could face. He wanted to be left alone and leave this place.

--

The Wayne trio, as the other kids on the Junior High called them, arrived at school and strutted merrily to the classrooms, they liked the school enough, and yes they thought that they were too smart to be there but they found it interesting as a way to understood different niches of the human society.

After all they wanted to be the best versions of themselves, not only being the children of a Billionaire CEO. All of them had some area of expertise after all. Cass was the captain of the martial arts team, Steph the debate team captain and Tim was well versed in chemistry.

--

After leaving all of his children in their school Bruce set the car to the day care in which he would leave Harry, everyday the past month he felt anxious to separate from his child, he felt weirded about it but the kid was still a baby something he didn't got through with the others since they were older than little Harry.

The day care was a block away from Wayne Enterprises and Bruce was ready to pounce at the first sign of trouble. He parked the Rolls and took Harry from the baby-seat as well as his diaper bag and toy bag, long ago the paparazzi had taken pictures of him taking Harry to said day care so he wasn't surprised when they stop pestering this time.

He entered the small building and was received by one of the attendees.

"Good morning Mr. Wayne" The young woman Brenda said to the tall man "Hello Harry how you been?" –She asked the baby who giggled and tried to reach at his caretaker. The twenty year old woman giggle as well as she took the baby from his father's arms. "Come here you big guy, are you picking him up at six?" She asked

"Yes miss. Brenda, but I'll be close if anything happens" Bruce said

"You don't have to worry that much Mr. Wayne, we'll take good care of little Harry" Brenda said

"Thanks miss. Brenda, goodbye Harry, I'll see you soon, give me five" Bruce said to his toddler and the kid bumped his small hand into his father's. Bruce smiled at him and leave as the small child waved him goodbye.

--

Bruce Wayne walked through the reception of the Wayne Enterprises Building. As a CEO he often had plenty of meetings with other directives and associates, today wasn't a different day than any other day, he had left Harry on the day care and the other kids on their schools.

His meeting today was with two of the worst men he had the pleasure to meet Max Shrek from Shrek Industries and another Max, Maxwell Zeus, who shared nothing with the Greek God except for the over the top ego. They wanted to increase the rate in the chemical plants Wayne Enterprises had, they were in for a treat.

Bruce was defending his position rather well when his assistant Julia interrupt the meeting.

"Sorry Mr. Wayne, but you have a call in line 2" Julia said which Bruce nodded at her.

"Gentlemen if you'll excuse me" Bruce said as he walked to the door in which his assistant had left, he was relieved that the meeting was interrupted or else he would end up punching one of the men.

"This is Wayne, who am I speaking with?" Bruce asked as he grabbed the phone.

"Mr. Wayne? Hi I'm Ted Tonks, Sirius Black's cousin-in-law, I'm here with him and he wishes to speak with you" The man said and Bruce was able to hear how they passed the phone to one another.

"Bruce? Hey man, look I'm going to stay here in England for a little longer, I have this family situation and I need to support my cousin, if that's ok with you?" Sirius said, it was obvious that he was uncomfortable with that situation, whatever it may be.

"Of course Sirius, I'll take care of Harry and you can come back when your family is better" Bruce said trying to relax his newest friend.

"Thanks Bruce, please tell Harry that I will be there as soon as I can, I hope I can have everything here in order by Harry's birthday, tell him that Padfoot will get him many gifts." Sirius said which made Bruce chuckle

"That's not necessary but I will tell him, goodbye Sirius, see you later" Bruce said hanging up the phone. With that taken care of Bruce returned to his business mode and went to the other room. Round 2 was on.
