Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: What Lies Within

Snapped out of thin air, just like that, was in that instant that the sea serpent's whale like mouth clapped - lower and upper Jaws closed shut.

Everything was all according to plan.

The Director still watched from afar, with the binoculars, closely monitored until its finishing performance as it dove right back into the sea. He hurried to the tents. Inside, machines of all kinds beeped and hummed: Big and bulk sized for memory and computing, monitors and screens for information transfer, speakers for audio, and keyboards - which was a lot - considering that not only was not one, not two, three, but multiple tech experts working together, at the same time to keep all things under-wrap. The Director, the boss, was to observe and see how things are running. Since coming into the tent, he became the person which everyone paused for a moment, only for him to wave and they got back underway. It was such a gruelling time for each person to get worked up, even if it was their own Director.

On one of the monitors - the most vital - showed a red beeping red light within the outline of a large-scale shape of the Myfecta. The red light in question though, is the box. The Director walked closer for an indepth view, arms crossed and all, "How goes the proceedings?" While he asked the near a man on the computer, following up with fine and an adjusted voice.

"All good, sir."

Still on the red dot, the fall began, went, and went, and went on. The box was falling, sliding almost along the Myfecta's throat, descending towards the stomach. That, however, might take some time to reach for there is another fact about the Myfecta that is fantastical yet unbelievable. That within the Myfecta's internal area; space is extends to an insane level. While it may seem normal outside, in the inside, a whole other world can be discovered only that the very interesting stuff is well suited for biologists and not your round-the-mill mountain climber, hiker, or explorer. No. But a discovery of flesh, bones, and otherwise innner-organisms: harmful or helpful?

Such a creature was kept hidden from the country, the world for that matter, not exclusively for this organisation but for the protection and preservation of the creature. It isn't known how this creature, and others alike came to be; legends and stories remain just about relevant. The history — not even close.

Formation of the organisation was only set to increase the safety of these creatures; all other accounts and records began there. To tell the truth, little is known how we may discover the past, or so it is, when in actuality there are records.....held by the older nobility that still roam parts of this land. Getting that information however is tricky.

Since breaking ties with the nobility, there is little to do with them -— and them, with us. There is also the law put into place by the government to prohibit outside interaction with the nobility (however did that it come to be) and only handful included were possible to at least have some talks. Any interference meant jail. That said a lot for them. That they'd do anything to isolate themselves from the world.

But as modern tradition goes: you either follow it or get caught.

As the Director observed, other machines included in the proceedings, present time, added a sense of familiarity: monitor for heart rate and life status, and cameras caught of visibility inside the mysfecta — transmitted by powerful signals and interpreted to images and audio.

It was a miracle that they could pull it off.

For a long time of testing and surely safe ways of not harming the creature, have gathered undeniable evidence and facts, evidently so as how the organisation has been running for. This led to multiple scientific breakthroughs that shaped how the organisation knew about this ancient creatures, and in addition, changed their views even more now that they got a, let's say, concrete foothold on what they were actually doing in there search for knowledge and truth. One of this particular knowledge is used in this approach to get information, in and out of the Myfecta, using what is called an RS instrument.

A thing or two about the Myfecta's skin can be said to be tougher than natural steel, iron, and tungsten. That's were the RS instruments comes in. It acts like a medium that can be able to increase power of these signals, thus a clear footage from the inside.

Spectacular, the Director thought. His eyes were glued to the screen. His interests, skyrocketed.

"Status seems normal — and heart rate at nominal rate," the male technician said. He clicked buttons on the keyboard and the footage was enhanced to a full big screen for which everyone took their time to watch as well.

Ben was in the box. He was strapped as close to it as possibly tight and secured. The box was sliding down the insides of the serpent at an incredibly fast speed. Too fast. And as the cameras took footage of him shaking due to the rocking and bumps, fluids from all sides seem to splattered — both Ben and the camera. Ben was alright; he wore protective gear and waited only for this almost motion sickening joyride to stop. The camera didn't get same treatment. It was like stain turd on top of a clean surface. Like a battlefield.

This constant rush of energy lasted five minutes, only then did the box come to a stop on its way up.

"Box has come to a stop," the male technician announced.

"Good work," the Director. "Get me confirmation: soldier is a green."

That was unsure.

The cameras weren't getting anything. That was probably because of the stain fluids.

"Visibility blocked."

"Visibility blocked."

"Sir, cameras can't capture clear images as of now," he looked to the screen and back, "but the vitals are still going."

The director spoke. He didn't expect this to happen but could know what might happen, "Stand down," he declared. "I'm sure our friend will figure this for himself."

Ben took a moment to take in his breath. He reached for the safety locked just beside his right hand, pressed on it, and the straps around him released. Right on queue he was let free and stumbled to the ground. Or at least it could be called ground. What his hands were touching when he stood on his feet was flesh, inside flesh of muscles.

Disgusting, he might say. The slimy feeling of the fluids on his hands made him think more weirdly Disgusted.

He turned around.

He took a effort foothold stance into the open view. This must probably be the stomach? But stomach, was it, didn't quite seem to be it. It was.....empty space of muscle walls.
