Chapter 4 - C4 – Under one punch

"Don't you want to know why?" Xiao Wanjun asked.

"Heh, I already know. It's simply because I'm a poor kid from a small town, not good at studies, without money or power, unable to give you the life you dream of," Jiang Feng said with a faint smile.

Jiang Feng's words were truly ruthless.

Xiao Wanjun's expression twisted in conflict. She indeed had these reasons, and it turned out Jiang Feng had always known.

Jiang Feng's current situation left him helpless, let alone Xiao Wanjun, whose family was in even more dire straits.

No one could see a glimmer of hope, only despair.

Only by separating could there be hope.

This was the main reason Xiao Wanjun chose to break up with Jiang Feng.

"Good that you know. From now on, Xiao Wanjun is my girlfriend. If you dare to pester her again, I'll break your legs," Zhu Bajie shouted, pointing at Jiang Feng, not bothering to guess Xiao Wanjun's thoughts.

"Don't worry, I won't. She's just a loose woman. As long as you're happy," Jiang Feng said indifferently.

Loose woman!

Jiang Feng actually called Xiao Wanjun a loose woman.

Xiao Wanjun staggered, almost fainting from anger.

Jiang Feng calling Xiao Wanjun a loose woman in front of so many classmates was a huge humiliation.

But in Jiang Feng's view, this humiliation was already giving her face. Normally, he would have killed her without a word.

Such a self-serving woman didn't deserve sympathy.

Jiang Feng's words left Zhu Bajie extremely embarrassed. A loose woman was someone discarded by others, played with until bored.

This was a huge insult to a man.

If Zhu Bajie accepted Xiao Wanjun today, he would be labeled as someone who picks up loose women.

Jiang Feng's move was truly ruthless.

The whole class stared blankly at Jiang Feng. They felt something was off. The Jiang Feng they knew wasn't like this; he was supposed to be the type to endure silently.

Usually, he didn't even dare to speak loudly, let alone stand up to Zhu Bajie.

Why was he saying such harsh words today? It was truly rare.

"Jiang Feng, don't slander me. You haven't even held my hand," Xiao Wanjun tried to salvage her reputation.

"Yes, because I disdain to. I'm afraid of getting dirty," Jiang Feng sneered.

"You..." Xiao Wanjun was speechless, only able to point at Jiang Feng in anger, unable to retort.

Zhu Bajie shouted, "I get it now, Jiang Feng. You can't accept the truth, so you're slandering Wanjun to make us waver. Hmph, I'm telling you, I won't fall for it. I'll be with Wanjun, just to spite you."

Saying this, Zhu Bajie kissed Xiao Wanjun's face, feeling very pleased.

Jiang Feng shook his head with a faint smile, saying, "A cheap person is always pretentious. Truly a perfect match, like a pot and a ladle, a frog and a toad."

Gah!

What a venomous remark!

Wasn't he saying they were like a pot and a ladle, even worse, a frog and a toad?

Such sharp words were more damaging than outright cursing.

"Are you looking for death? Believe it or not, I'll cripple you," Zhu Bajie roared, pointing at Jiang Feng's nose.

Jiang Feng's move was truly ruthless.

Jiang Feng slapped Zhu Bajie's hand away, saying, "I believe you, but I also believe you don't have the ability."

These words struck like a thunderbolt, pushing Zhu Bajie's anger to its peak.

"You bastard, today I'll teach you a lesson," Zhu Bajie threw a punch.

Zhu Bajie worked out regularly and was in great shape. His punch was three times more powerful than an average person's.

Whoosh!

The fist came crashing down, exuding an overwhelming aura.

Jiang Feng smiled slightly, his legs moving into a peculiar stance, then he dodged Zhu Bajie's punch with swift, agile movements.

Then Jiang Feng struck back with lightning speed.

This punch was extraordinary, faintly accompanied by a tiger's roar, shaking the surroundings.

Zhu Bajie was stunned, feeling his entire body immobilized, as if gripped by invisible hands.

Gah!

Bang!

In the blink of an eye, Jiang Feng's fist landed on Zhu Bajie's face.

"Ah!" Zhu Bajie screamed, crouching down and trembling all over.

Jiang Feng looked at his fist, shaking his head slightly, and said, "Sigh, the power is not what it used to be. I need to train harder and quickly regain my strength. The 'Divine Dragon Phantom Step' and 'Tiger Roar Overlord Punch' have regressed to their initial states, unable to even knock down an ordinary person. It's embarrassing."

Yes, he was once an Immortal King, and now he couldn't even defeat Zhu Bajie. In the Immortal Realm, this would be a laughingstock.

There was no way around it. Jiang Feng had lost his cultivation, and there wasn't a trace of Immortal Essence in his body. Not even True Qi existed.

He remembered his beautiful master once told him that in the Immortal Realm, one could directly cultivate Immortal Essence. But in other realms, one had to cultivate True Qi first, reach the peak, ascend to the Immortal Realm, and then cultivate Immortal Essence.

The same applied on Earth.

Cultivating True Qi only made one a cultivator. Jiang Feng couldn't even be considered a cultivator now.

It seemed the road back to being an Immortal King was still far off.

"Jiang Feng hit someone."

"And it was the class monitor Zhu Bajie."

"Impressive, bro."

"I think Jiang Feng has gone mad."

"Maybe he's been provoked and lost his mind, hitting whoever he sees."

"Sigh, now he's completely offended Zhu Bajie. He'll have to face a storm of fury."

"Today was really a show. First, Jiang Feng confronted the teacher, then Xiao Wanjun broke up with him, and now Zhu Bajie got beaten. It's so satisfying."

"No matter what, Jiang Feng is now in the spotlight. One more push, and he'll fall, becoming a pitiful figure everyone despises."

"Exactly, I look down on him. No money, no power, just a rural kid, yet he insists on studying at Meilong Middle School."

"You don't know? This kid is staying at his aunt's house. It seems his uncle and cousin don't like him."

"I know his cousin, Chen Xin'ai from Class Twelve. She's a real beauty, with many boys chasing her."

"Right, they don't seem like real cousins. Must be different genes."

"Jiang Feng is just clinging to a higher branch. Otherwise, he'd have gone back to the countryside long ago."

Everyone talked, still mocking Jiang Feng. Not a single person stood by him.

Except for one, his deskmate, Cheng Zhenjie.

The two had hit it off from the start, becoming the best of friends in the class.

Cheng Zhenjie's family was average, but he was well-liked in the class, known as the "Old Woman," aware of all the school gossip, but timid.

Many advised him not to associate with Jiang Feng, but he never listened, still walking to and from school with Jiang Feng.
