"Shut up! You have no right to judge Asta!"
Yuno roared, spinning his two swords in his hands as he rushed toward Lucius.
"How long can you hold on?"
With a whoosh, Lucius retreated, creating distance between himself and Yuno. He continued using his Time Magic: Chrono Sphere, consuming Yuno's Anti-Magic energy.
Once Yuno's demonic power was depleted, Lucius would strike back. The outcome would depend on a single moment—and Yuno was running out of time.
"Damn it… Star Magic: Star Fantasy!"
Yuno's star-filled eyes blazed open, bathing Lucius in radiant light that slowed his every movement.
"Die."
Yuno hurled his transformed elemental sword straight at Lucius. The elven-forged blade, coated in Anti-Magic, pierced toward Lucius' chest.
"It's still a hundred years too early!"
Lucius grinned. With a puff, the elemental sword impaled his palm, blood flowing freely.
"Allow me to return it."
Lucius yanked the blade free and launched it back at Yuno.
With a sharp crack, Yuno cleaved the sword apart with the Spirit of Zephyr in his hand. Lucius seized the opportunity, teleporting behind him and thrusting a blue orb of time magic at Yuno's head.
"It's not over yet. I must become the Wizard King!"
A black figure surged upward from the ground—Asta, wielding two massive Demon-Dweller blades, swung a black arc of Anti-Magic that passed just by Yuno's ear, forcing Lucius to halt his assault.
"Inferior quality... you really are hard to erase."
Lucius leapt back, firing a barrage of Time Magic: Chrono Orbs toward the two.
"Yuno!"
"Asta!"
They looked at each other, wide grins spreading across their faces.
"It's me, Asta, who'll become the Wizard King!"
"No, it's me."
The two young men from Hage Village now stood as warriors who had defied destiny itself.
"Go to hell."
Thousands of time spheres—each packed with condensed magic—surrounded them. Lucius waved his hand, detonating the orbs when they were barely five meters away to prevent Asta from nullifying them with Anti-Magic.
A deafening boom erupted. The blast engulfed the battlefield in smoke. From within it, a ray of starlight pierced through, freezing Lucius' movements once again.
"You're so damn persistent," Lucius growled, raising his hand with effort.
A black silhouette burst from the smoke, stabbing straight toward him.
"Too naive."
A surge of demonic energy exploded from Lucius, scattering the starlight.
"Ridiculous…"
With a puff, before Lucius could teleport behind Asta, his chest was impaled by a magic sword that had suddenly expanded to several times its size.
With one clean slash, Asta split Lucius in two.
Clang!
Another timeline shattered.
"Yuno… we did it…"
Asta coughed blood—only to be stabbed in the chest by the "resurrected" Lucius.
"I was tricked by a bunch of ants… how disgraceful."
Lucius sneered, tossing Asta aside like garbage.
Yuno froze in shock. He was split in half! How is he still alive?!
Seeing Lucius fling Asta down like an insect, Yuno shouted in rage, "ASTA!"
Lucius smirked, trapping Yuno within a Time Magic: Chrono Field.
"You should go down and accompany him."
Yuno's Anti-Magic power had faded, his mana nearly gone. He couldn't even summon the stars. All he could do was watch the blue orb approach his head—
When suddenly, Lucius stopped. His eyes widened as blood spilled from his mouth.
"Game over, Joker." Adam appeared silently behind him.
Using Telekinesis, he crushed Lucius' heart, killing him instantly.
"Leave the rest to me."
Adam placed a hand on Yuno's shoulder.
Mimosa rushed to Asta's side below, healing him as fast as she could.
"Mm…"
Yuno nodded weakly, his body trembling.
Clang!
"Why… why is fate on my side again?"
Lucius resurrected once more—the threads of destiny twisting off course. He had foreseen this, but not so soon.
"You've got remarkable vitality."
Lucius expanded his Time Field, launching a torrent of Chrono Spheres toward Adam.
"Same here."
Adam stood firm, drawing the Human Emperor Sword. A massive blade of golden light erupted as he swung.
"I lack nothing."
A thunderous boom followed. The time orbs detonated around Adam, forming a massive mushroom cloud.
"Trying to tickle me?"
When the smoke cleared, Adam stood unscathed. Lucius stared in horror—he had died again.
The light blade had ignored the laws of time, slicing him in half effortlessly.
But this time, Lucius' calm was gone. Adam's strike had severed one-third of his remaining timelines.
"How—how is that possible?! What are you?!"
Lucius' face went pale. One more hit like that and he'd cease to exist—forever.
"No… not again!"
In a flash, Adam appeared beside him, driving the Human Emperor Sword through his heart and soul.
"AAAAH—NOOO!"
Lucius screamed, resurrecting once again and retreating desperately.
Adam extended his hand, telekinetically freezing Lucius in place. When he struck, he found it was only a clone.
Lucius began spawning more and more clones, infusing them with his magic and fragmented souls. He called upon his subordinates from the Clover Royal Capital to block Adam's pursuit—then prepared to flee through time.
"Space Magic: Celestial Seal."
As Lucius attempted to leap across timelines, Adam unleashed a golden halo that enveloped the entire capital, locking down space itself.
"Adam, you must die!"
Lucius, enraged, ordered his clones to attack.
"Everyone—hold the line! Don't let these bastards reach them!"
William Vangeance unleashed all his power. A colossal World Tree sprouted from the ground, entangling Lucius' forces.
"Father, where do you think you're going?!"
Mereoleona Vermillion's body blazed into living fire as she and her Crimson Lion warriors stopped their father's reinforcements.
Noelle Silva was even more fearsome—her Water Magic: Sea Dragon's Roar pierced through Acier's corrupted clone in one strike. Having forged the Leviathan Contract, she was no longer the timid girl who once couldn't control her magic.
Xiaoshui, Lemiel, Princia, Charlotte, and the others all surpassed their limits—fighting desperately to buy time for Adam to end Lucius once and for all.
Far away in the Spade Kingdom, Ladin transformed into a gigantic mountain, opening an abyssal maw and swallowing the fleeing Morris whole…
