The Gift is approximately 50 leagues (150 miles) south of the Wall, covering an estimated 60,000 to 63,000 square miles, it stretches from coast to coast, basically Chile of the world, being long and thin.
So basically, just south of the wall, to the right is bay of seals and island of Skagos and to the left is bay of ice and Mormont Island. To the south they border Umbers and the various mountain clans like Flint, Lockes, Norreys etc.
Some sources place the North Population at around 1 million while others at 4.5, I will go with the bigger number (because I want to) but due to the gift not being left to rot with Nights Watch I will bump up the number up by an additional 1 million or so making it roughly 5.5 million with the gift holding around 300,000 throughout the whole of the gift (it is the size of the state of Illinois) with the largest settlement being Queenscrown with around 85,000 and various different villages, towns and holdfasts dotted around the whole length of the land, that is because:
Queens crown lords are called - House Frostmane, due to the founder killing a shadowcat on his first day being there after it tried to ambush him while hunting, some still call them house Queenscrown.
They predominately deal with wildling raids and providing some materials and funding to nights watch (it is a shithole but they don't have rusty swords and a bit more men) which results in the mountain clans and Umbers and North in general being more well off and populated, they also have small ports on both seas with the one in bay of Ice being geared more towards fending off Ironborn (Ice Port) along with Mormonts while the Bay of Seals one being more for trade with Bravos, Norvos even Skagos when they don't feel cannibalistic and to hunt smaller whales which puts them at odds with the Ibbanese whaler fleets ( Whaler Port)
Some of the Land they own used to belong to Umbers, Mormons, Northern most mountain clans and some other smaller lords that were related by blood to others, making some resent how they were gifted 'Their ancestral land' and consider them young house, upstarts and other terms even if the relationships improved somewhat over the centuries.
Nights watch is somewhat friendly with them, considering they supply them but the amount of southern criminals that go to nearby villages to commit crimes causes strain from time to time.
Their emblem is a shadowcat with a golden crown on a bluish-white background words being -
"Beneath the snow the shadow lies ." (please if you have a better idea tell me I was thinking about this for like 2h, asked my friends even resorted to the abominable AI but settled for this, in my head it sounds so cringe.)
They are considered one of the great northern houses, with their own lesser nobles/masterly houses subservient to them, they also have special relationship with starks being that they dont pay as much tax to them due to being obliged to supply nights watch and due to the lords playing whack a wilding all the time across a considerable distances, the first lord was also a cousin of Cregan Stark who married a woman from house Mormont to try and appease at least one of their neighbours
Over years they established themselves, fought in southern wars, repelled kings beyond the wall, occassionally put down reaving Ironborn or slavers and helped subdue Skagosi sometimes.
When Rickard stark was imprisoned Brandon stark set forth with patriarch of house Queens crown and his heir to die by orders of Aerys.
Rickard Frostmane - main guy, gets reborn 3 years before Roberts Rebellion (so going by GoT timeline he will be around 20 when the main show starts, considering in the show Jon is born at the end of rebelion and is 16 when show starts, the rebellion lasts a year so if he is born 3 years before it happens he is 4 years older than Jon at the begining of cannon. He is born in 279 AC, jon in 283 AC
Current house

Rough timeline of major events:
131 AC dance of dragons ends, marks beginning of the house.
157 - 161 conquest of Dorne, they distinguish themselves in battle but while they were away and their land still new a force of wilding raiders butcher throughout the land making future generations not willing to commit extensive forces to wars in south.
165 - Anti-wilding campaign throughout the north and bordering regions of the Wall, the then lord Cregan Frostmane sets miles of forest a flame to root out nearby wilding villages massacring all and sparing none.

Some months after there is Great Spring Sickness but due to being isolated in Far North they and most of the North remain mostly unaffected
211 - attempt at second Blackfyre rebellion
216 - first conflict with Ibbanese whaling fleets in the shivering sea and the small fleet from Whaler town
230 - Essosi Slavers attempt a raid on Skagos, Hardhome and Whaler Port but are repelled when all 3 band to repel them, known by the Citadel as the unholy trinity, in the aftermath the coastlines are littered with slaver heads on spikes and their ships being burnt some are taken in secret by Frostmanes to combat future wildlings and Skagosi invasions
233 - Aegon the V The Unlikely takes the throne, he remembers how one of the Frostmanes almost killed his brother on behalf of Aerion and orders more of their tax to go to the crown, making them have less gold as they still have their obligation to nights watch needing to be fullfield, making them bitter towards Targaryen's since.
248 - Another major wildling invasion repelled with help of house stark
249-252 both ports are given charters to become towns with blessing of house stark who aims to increase their naval power in both seas.
253 - 257 putting down a secret plot by other northern houses to kill off all Frostmanes by providing secret transport, supplies and weapons to wildlings and brigands to their lands, only 1 noble of significant status from mountain clan of Norrey being prosecuted while the rest of the conspirators were still hidden by covering their tracks well, ever since then Frostmanes have become a bit paranoid about their neighbours and invest more than usual in their forces with pretext of combating wildlings.
257-259 War of Ninepenny Kings happens, Jorah Frostmane leads a small but veteran company of horsemen where they distinguish themselves by saving Blackfish Tullys flank but decimating their numbers but gains a friend in the Blackfish. Jorah petitions King Aegon to lift the increased tax he imposed almost 30 years ago but he refuses making them even more bitter and resentful, in secret Aerys reassures them that he will try and talk to his father.
Late 259 - Aegon and his heir Duncan die in Summerhall leaving Aerys as the King. Aerys with his dislike of his father and brother he lifts the extra taxes on Frostmanes, sparking a friendship between him, Jorah, Tywin and Steffon.
261 - Tywin puts down Reyne/Tarbeck Rebellion, Frostmane personally sends a gift to Tywin congratulating him on putting down the rebellion.
268-270 - Skagos requests help with slavers from the rest of the North, Frostmanes distinguish themselves and their heavy infantry cohesion and relialability is praised by their friends and even by some of their disgruntled fellow northern nobles, known for unwavering morale and organisation and individual unit flexibility that is often needed when battling chaotic formations of wildlings and Ironborn.
276 - Defiance of Duskendale, the friendship between Jorah and Aerys strains but is somewhat rekindled when in defiance of his own father he led a fleet to blocade duskendale demanding his release and getting wounded by arrows from the port making Aerys happy that he has a "friend who is willing to take arrows for me and lead men to death in my name" which makes Tywin bitter that Jorah gets all the praise for bravery when it was him who holds the kingdoms together and led the biggest relief force
279 - Rickard is born he will only get his memories at age 3 due to an event that happens (more will be told in the prologue and 1st chapter)
280-281 Rhegar hosts Harrenhall tournament and kidnaps Lyanna sparking Roberts Rebellion Lord Paramount of the North
First Chapter/Prologue will deal with how our guy gets reincarnated/born again and some few early months/years
