Kaija could barely believe she'd survived that deadly standoff between those two terrifying men. Her senses finally returned when Antony kicked the door to Room 1 shut behind them.
Antony set her down on the sofa, then stretched his arms. It took fifteen minutes to get from the Production building to the dorms, and he'd been carrying her the whole way.
Seeing Kaija's pouting face on the sofa, he came over and tousled her hair. "Rest for the day," he said, his fingers tangling into her soft strands. "Order something for lunch and dinner. Don't skip meals. Don't sneak out. Don't do anything stupid that'll make those wounds worse. And don't think I won't know. If I hear even a whisper of you anywhere outside your room, I'm not giving you the track for your song. Understood?"
Kaija scowled at the barrage of commands, but that threat was way scarier than losing her own free will. "Aye aye, sir," she said, giving him that playful salute.
