By the door, Kaija leaned against the wall. Did she imagine it up, or were there actually bullets flying in the empty space between Juho and Charles? Either way, she could be sure that watching these two men verbally sparring was way more thrilling than any movie she'd seen.
The moment Charles finished stating his second condition, the easy smile on Juho's face vanished completely. From where she stood, Kaija could see Juho's hands gripping tightly onto his knees under the table, as if restraining himself from swinging a fist across Charles's face.
On the other end, the ever steely expression had returned to the face of the man who had just passionately made a mess out of her just minutes ago. His silver gaze were now sharp and cold as a blade.
